- What is your felling about the new Limited Box?
I think it's really beautiful for a collector like me, I wish I could get it! but for that amount, it's impossible...
I am not a Michael, but a 19 years old Edith Piaf collector in Hungary. I love the songs of Michael. But let me tell you a story. In 2015, for Edith's 100th anniversary, a limited edition box set came out with the followings: 20 CDs, a vinyl and a photo album with her biography. It was 150 euros ONLY. Of course, Piaf is not as famous as MJ but come on... That price is ridiculously high...
If I could afford it, I would immediately buy this precious and memorable TII limited box. Long live MJ's precious, unforgettable legacy along with KOP, MJ's great fame and MJ's famous name! #MJtheGreatestHumanBeing ever!

I feel like they are milking his legacy dry - all for the sake of money - and I don't think he'd be happy about it. I also feel that the estate is only about taking advantage, financially, of his art. Michael said it best; they don't really care about us, if they cared about Michael they should be focusing their efforts on fighting the lies that keep degrading his memory; the fan community has done most of that work, via the Michael Jackson Innocent Project, Square 1, etc. I love all things Michael, but his death is nothing to celebrate; the estate is just not allowing him to rest & they're taking advantage, even in death. I won't give John Branca & Sony a dime. Michael left us plenty to remember him by, things that he approved of & had control over. I'm done supporting the (not his, but the) estate. I love you, Hector, but I can't support anything the estate is behind, not until they respect the artist that making them so rich & demonstrate the love that he demonstrated throughout his life. Heads up: they're also behind the MJ musical due to hit Broadway: do your research (especially about the authors & their statements) & approach with caution.

As a collector myself i have to say that this is much too expensive for me! I own the This is it Vinyl Set with a beautiful full colour booklet since its release in 2009 and the 3D Promotional Blueray is in my collection too. Yes, it‘s a nice looking boxset with LEDs and Ticket (by the way: is it a replica or an original ticket from 2009??) but for almost 600€ (with shipping) i can‘t afford that and don‘t think that it‘s worth THIS price! C‘mon: 500 something Euros?? Really???
BUT: of course that‘s only my opinion and maybe 1000 other collectors will buy this boxset and will love it.
Last point for me is once again the content. Why don‘t they release the Vinyls with Michaels original live rehearsal Recordings? THAT would be nice and something special!!
I think that the understanding of the vinyl box set that you and I have of "This Is It" are promotional items because it was never officially released (at least at the time) otherwise. What we have are real and not bootlegs but I'm not I'm not sure it has ever been officially released on vinyl at all to be honest.

Bonjour, on est en effet dans un grand délire, dans l'optique d'attirer les collectionneurs en mettant l'argument " 1000" copies.
Un peu la même pratique quand ils ont limité les dates de projections de This is it.
Genre " Y'en aura pas pour tout le monde" Mais la, le prix est surréaliste.
( Quand je pense que j'ai râlé quand j'ai trouvé dans un salon vinyl "History on the mix" neuf pour 150 € que je n'ai pas pu acheter...
L'objet en lui même , moins cher , je pense qu'en tant que petit collectionneur, j'aurais craqué surtout pour les beaux vinyls bleus.
Par contre , complétement d'accord pour les j5 en vinyl couleurs, c'est très cool :) SI ils font la même chose avec " Diana Ross present" ou Abc, j’achète !

Je nomme cela la « capitalisation de la nostalgie » ; avec les années, c’est de plus en plus fréquent. Les prix montent pour du contenu véritablement moyen.
Toutefois, on peut citer une exception : la Mega-Box des Guns N’Roses - publiée en 2018 - pour l’album « Appetite For Destruction ». 10 000 exemplaires, 4 CD, du Blu-Ray, 7 maxis, du 45 tours en vinyle jaune, 12 lithographies, 5 bagues en métal, 5 pins, 5 médiators, une feutrine, des posters,... et le tout pratiquement au même prix que cette box de « This Is It » !

Don’t believe estate will see the video but I must say it is really very expensive . If they sell the blue Lp alone it would be wonderful . But they could make so many projects in cheaper price . Like blu ray concerts

Et il faut toujours raquer...J'ai lâché prise sur certaines de mes collecs car même en ce concentrant que sur les trucs récents, il te faut être un émir qatari pour tout avoir....alors pour les trucs anciens j'en parle même pas : on dirait que le prix est basé sur "l'âge" de l'objet, genre on va faire 50€ par tranche de 1 an !!!! :((

It is EXCELLENT that there is an expensive product so it gives perceived vaule (at least in theory) to not only some sort of Michael Jackson item but hopefully on some level to all things Michael Jackson or at least then some things concerning his products. There have been very few limited editions by Michael Jackson since he was a world best selling artist who would try to (and often succeeded) sell as many of a product as possible. I'll be real honest that the compilation released for "This Is It" is just a rehash of previously released hits. It is not actually the soundtrack. I find it SO sad that the fans and the general public do not understand, question, or complain about that even to this day. If there is anything to be taken up there with that that would be it. Otherwise I am sadden that when it comes to certain if not all Super Deluxe Editions that the hardcover books (assuming that they even have one at all) are so damn short! 60 pages is nothing! I am assuming (and hoping) that there is an essay with liner notes, maybe some level of artwork, and photos not seen before. Other than these things this box set looks quite good and the box itself looks phenomenal! I hope that there is an on and off switch with an ability to change the battery! This is SO exciting! You all need to see the box sets that Guns N' Roses did with Appetite For Destruction" (I mean the huge one that is wooden CABINET basically!) called, "Locked And Loaded" and Gene Simmon's, "Vault" to get an idea what the Estate are going to have to do for fall of Michael's best selling long plays but especially "Thriller". They will have to be luxury items to say the least.

Quelle belle analyse,c'est vrai... très déçu également pour ce que c'est..trop cher... 250€ oui je la prenais aussi.. je préférerais des rééditions Vinyls de qualité (je ne parle pas des inaudibles pictur disk) mais de belles rééditions retravaillées de History,BOTDF, Invincible... Même le coffret ultimate en vinyl...là ça serait intéressant pour nous... Et même si c'est 50€ le vinyle avec un beau packaging,un beau livret,des bons vinyls ...mais là non...une boîte qui fait de la lumière et de la musique... 🙄 ... Et plus de 500€... comme par hasard pour Noël... C'est vraiment dommage,trop cher

I would have preferred something else like, for example, a box with all of Michael's short films (Ghosts and so on) The next year, History turns 25, do you think they'll do something? Je suis d'accord avec toi, Hector. Cette box est beaucoup trop chère. Je suis très frustrée car elle est super belle, j'aimerais l'avoir, mais je ne peux pas. Je viens de m'offrir la figruine BAD 50th anniversary à un prix déjà conséquent pour moi, donc, cette box, non. Je pense que l'Estate ne veut faire que de l'argent et se moque complètement des fans. Nous ne devons pas soutenir ce genre de pratiques. Tu as raison.

Un coffret qui a l'air très beau mais tout a fait d'accord avec toi, le tarif est très dissuasif 😔
En plus du prix comme tu l’évoque à 600 € si ça se trouve ce sera un échec commercial comme le CD This Is It sortie en 2009 avec les titres studio d’époque ! C’était même pas des titres live de la répétition de This Is It ! Donc mettre 600 euros pour retrouver les titres originaux que tout le monde connais c’est du foutage de gueule ! C’est sûrement pour se faire de l’argent pour marquer le coup des 10 ANS !! Après à voir si plus tard il y a une chute au niveau du tarif! Mais j’aimerai bien savoir le contenu des 4 vinyles, si ce sont des titres joués par Michael Jackson durant les répétitions avec des morceaux entiers pas comme dans le film. Ou alors des morceaux d’époque enregistré en studio ! Si c’est le cas ça serait une arnaque total !

As a fan and not as a collector I‘m furious that they are launching a box set with nothing new, but overpriced „goodies“, I feel cheated. When MJ died one of the first things they did, if not the first one, was to protect the film material. I remembered they said that Ortega had to edit about 100 hours of rehearsals. Just too lazy and greedy to go to work editing new material and ask for Copyright to the people appearing there? It is much easy to sale the same material but on a nice box making sounds?. I could afford to buy, but won‘t do it. I hope many fans protests in the same way.

Je comprend le collectionneur mais les fans que nous sommes ne comprennent pas du tt le plan de l'estate à sortir ce box à ce moment, bad timing, mauvaise communication, plan foireux. Pdt que nous essayons de défendre sa mémoire, le show de Broadway est annoncé (écrit par des personne qui valident L.N,J.S,W.R) et la sortie de ce truc pour les 10 ans de... Sa mort.. WTF !

The blu ray is already available on eBay. They gave them away with Samsung 3d blu ray players. Its not the full movie in 3d. Only the inserts of smooth criminal, thriller, earth song and the way you make me feel

Totalement en osmose avec toi Hector pour ce collector uniquement destiné aux riches ! On sent bien que le but ici est de se faire un max d'argent sur le dos de Michael. Au total, ils vont se mettre 600.000 dollars en poche avec un coffret qui en vaut 150 max à l'unité ! Joli contenu, mais qu'ils arrêtent d'abuser sur les tarifs démesurés. On peut aimer Michael au point de tout vouloir le concernant, mais il faut aussi savoir garder les pieds sur terre parfois : on nage en plein dans l'arnaque avec ce produit ! Et je vois d'ici les profiteurs qui ont les moyens de claquer cash près de 600 euros (fdp inclus) et qui, une fois épuisé, vont le revendre plus de 1000 euros !

Yes let’s release an anniversary boxset of the movie where Michael is literally dying on stage and charge $5,000 dollars for it ! I’d rather they have restored and released all of Michaels short films in HD and on Bluray ! The estate doesn’t have a clue IMO

New-unreleased material, nicely packaged, and above all AFFORDABLE, let's sell those items out! They know what we fans want yet they still milk the fools and poor collectors. If they sell them all and get €500,000, I wish they better take that money and restore Michael's complete video catalogue. As always, Official releases are nothing but compilations nicely packaged. I really don't wanna judge the fans that bought this but i personally don't wanna spend that much for something that's not worthy and don't come at me cause you can't tell me it's worth it, 500€ to see Michael destroyed and almost anorexic on stage? No thanks! They had the chance to release some of his shows on blu ray, or a blu ray with all his short films, but no, the Estate prefers to "celebrate" his death... Disgusting.
