Also seen some video of Christian songs sung in Chinese opera style in Cantonese, more familiar to the older generation who might grown up on those older music. Our brothers and sisters are so resourceful, praise be our Lord.

Hwang, 你好！谢谢你的共享。王老师有一个建议，把 “魂”（soul) 改成 “心” 比较合宜圣经的用语。第一、Soul和Spirit，还有“心” 在圣经是共享的语境。在希伯来人的神学观，是同样的语境。但华人用 “魂” 去作 “Soul” 意义无法表达希伯来人的 “全心全意”，因此华人用 “魂” 作为Soul的字眼翻译，便失去了“生命、内心、灵魂” 的希伯来人之敬拜的全人意思。第二、华人的 “魂”，唱起来有些怪异、因为 “魂” 在华人传统的语境有如“鬼神” 的民间味道。相信作10,000 Reasons的华人翻译者是直接翻译，却没有圣经神学和系统神学的背景。结果唱了 “魂的歌” ，却会感觉 ”怪异“，对此诗歌失去圣经的真义。第三、这首歌的 ”美感“，不但是音乐悦人，更是在词汇上需要被修饰和改进，更表达上帝的敬畏之心。建议Hwang如果可以（你的唱法有些个人的Jazz味道），能够重新用另外一个唱法（配合更大的华人群众的唱法），使到会众重新获得“全新和正确（字眼）”表达圣经，人对上帝的敬畏。这首歌，如果可以换成正确的词汇，相信会有更多信徒受益和推崇，提升信徒群体去此歌的赞美与尊重神。My email: emmanuelong21@gmail.com。。。。Dr (Rev) Emmanuel Ong
