Thank you for such a great video, Whitby is now on my list of places to visit. Whitby seems to get such bad press but you have shown what a great place it is ☺️
Loving your trip around Whitby and well done for getting up those 199 steps which was well worth it to see the chapel and abbey...looking forward to your next video.
Oh my goodness you found the humble pie shop . Brings back so many memories for us taking out two doggies in there where try laid under the table near the open fire xxx thank you so so much for showing this beautiful eating place xxxxx
Thankyou Martin and Sharon for taking us round Whitby. The drone footage and the music was really good. Hope your keeping warm and well wrapped up enjoy your stay and take care🐶💖🌸🐾🐾☃️
Loved your Whitby video thank you it brought back memories from the late 70s and 80s . I lived just a few miles down the coast after I married a local. It is a beautiful place the East coast is one of my favourite places of the UK
Hi Sharon watching both of you I have walked up those steps with my late husband a it brought back loving memories 😢 hope you enjoyed it like we did love Mary 💖💐🌹🥰
Thx sharon and Martin for the lovely tour .you both done great getting up all those steps I think it would of killed me off lol .loved the drone footage well done loved it ..❤
What a great video, I lived in the north east for 50 years born and bred and visited Whitby many time. I live in Chester now. You have made me book the hotel you stayed in and I’m going to visit again haven’t been for 15 years. You both do a great job thank you, 😊 Chris Watson
Thankyou for going to whitby I used to not like whitby but realised a hadn't been all round only bin t castle ruins and a fish shop didn't realise there was so much so thankyou again
Thank you for the drone footage of the ruins x you really can't get the full appreciation of the beauty of it whilst on the ground. It truly is magnificent from the air xx
Hi love this tour of whitby iv been a few times over the years when visiting Yorkshire from hampshire but never seen the Foresters Court. I'm a member of the ancient order of Foresters sence a child now called Foresters in times past they used to help people that come on hard times before the benefit systems
Hi Sharon and Martin good morning to both I hope you are enjoy your holiday where you both are. I really like watching you both going for your walk and showing people different shops and I really like how you tell people what you do. I also enjoy when you both go to places to have a meal too I am not a lover of fish and chips because I have to watch what I eat.
Fantastic. Whitby it is then. Thanks for the great video 😊 beautiful place. Never would have thought it would be so historic and just what we need. Jane and Martin. X 👍
Thks Sharon n martin for a nostalgia look around Whitby, been a long time since we have been back there, but 0: many thks for making the video of your trip in n around Whitby. Thks john.
Hi Shaz and Martin. Loved the walk around Whitby, i used to live in Robin Hoods bay for a while, so Whitby was the place i went for shopping etc. Hasnt really changed that much over the years. The drone footage was brilliant Martin. Tackling those steps is a great feat lol, i did it once . take care x Look forward to the next vlog.
Another excellent video Sharon and Martin. The Harbour reminds me of Weymouth. Funny you passed Simon (Simply Whitby) again. That was a lot of steps. Love the drone footage 👍👍😁😎
Hi Folks, This is lovely. Quirky, fairytale-ish, like something out of Tolkien. Thank you for the excursion. Even if it's cold you've brought clear skies and sun with you. They're nice gloves Sharon. Warm hands and feet make a big difference. Thanks again. Enjoy your break. See you next time💯👍😘😘🤗🤗
My niece was christened in St Mary's church at top of steps, her dad and her grandad were 1st jet carvers to go in the register in approx 100years.They use to live up one of the alleyways of the cobbled main street but nightmare cos nowhere to park and in summer if you ever have to bring your car up to unload you get drop dead looks cos you're driving on the road 🤣.Sadly the family shop the Whitby jet Heritage centre with Victorian jet works inside has now finally closed after many years because of family reasons.I don't live there now , moved away many years ago I have mobility issues and just can't cope with the terrain. Whitby museum is worth a look around
The bridge doesn’t raise like the things on London’s Tower Bridge - the two parts swing in opposite directions - they don’t allow any people on the bridge when it opens up like that - only ever witnessed it once before, a long time ago as a boy from far off - only opens up for big ships - it’s the mouth of the River Esk, so huge ships rarely pass through - but one side looks out to the sea and the other inland, I believe! My auntie by marriage lived in the house that is now the Whitby Jet Museum - lived in the kitchen down below - often called in on her, but we went from there up the 199 Steps - and there are one hundred and ninety-nine of them - I counted them - there’s a cobbled path that runs alongside as well! It’s almost impossible to climb up them without stopping, so anyone who can do so must be super-fit! Did you get to sample Whitby fish & chips? Not sure where the best one is - but my sister, her husband and I saw a video by that geezer you met in yesterday's video and he went to one down near the bus and train station that looks promising - might try it - it appears to be the only place that sells plaice!
One of my favourite places. Well known for its jet and also fossils. We have a huge ammonite that was found there, it's beautiful - but also a bit sinister for some reason. Those 199 step are extra tiring as they are actually fairly shallow on the lift but quite long in the forward stride. I did it several times ............... in my 20's and 30's! Wonderful Abbey footage - thank you ! x
Hiya, another gorgeous vlog. It's a wonder that terrestrial TV haven't offered you a permanent slot on one of the channels. I'm sure it would go down well. They are full of information and more importantly they are relatable to ordinary folk like me, but mostly they are fun. The quality of you vlogs are better than some TV programs already showing in the early evening. Take care xxx
Wonderful drone coverage yet again ‘people’😂. The victorians loved Jet, especially those who were mourning, they had lots of jewellery made from it, some usually had the hair of their dear departed incased.❤
Great Vlog, I just love Whitby I was last there for Goth Weekend at the end of October now thats an experience but its increadably busy and the streets of the old town are packed. One thing we do to avoid the hills is to book into accomadation at the lower level we have recently stopped in Bagdale Hall just past the train station and also in the little yellow cottage that is a bit further down the road when you go past the Quirty Den and will probably head that way again towards the end of March.
Hi Martin and Sharon another great vlog of Whitby and yet again a superb finish with the drone view of the Abbey absolutely sensational keep up the great vlogs ❤
Loved the vidio excellent drone footage really enjoyed it .I don't get out and about much now but years ago I used to go on day trips there so brought back memories. Thanks so much Xx❤❤
Hello Butlers, just got to see this vlog today --- VERY interesting stuff, (although I had wanted a peek at the window of that Teddy Bear store, where Sharon went, to see what fun things were there!) Oh well, maybe next time!! 😅 You had a beautiful, but cold day, and thank you for the wonderful scenery! (And for going up ALL those steps!) Cheers from Linda in So. California ❣️
