Ok it's precious to go back and watch these old videos 7 years later and see how you're all still best friends and nothing has changed after ALL these years but also how the channel has grown and evolved in a really fun and organic way. I think the fact that you've kept it centered around a group of guys sharing food has kept it really authentic.
I love big nights in so much because of the intimacy the endings have. You guys sharing your stories from the past and answering all the other kinda private questions makes you guys seem more real and not just random people on the web. This does really make it seem like a community. Plus the recipes are great! Tried making some of it and I was quite pleased by how it turned out.. Thank you for doing this series!!
How awesome are you guys !! Not only do you show us how to cook and bake, but also the importance friendship aswell. You guys are a great example of a beautiful, long last friendship! ! Thank you for making me laugh and sharing your pricless moments!! Good Day to you all ! :D
It's so wonderful to see that you four have remained friends for such a long time. It's so rare these days to make time for friends and the fact that you all have managed to do that in addition to working with something you love is amazing!
I think finding this channel is one of the best things to have happened for me. So many of these dishes seem so easy and simple to reproduce, and I *love* cooking! It's definitely inspired me to spend my last summer at home cooking all sorts of food, and healthy food at that!
I think I should maybe clarify for all non English/Irish/Scottish or Welsh people out there that Mike was indeed saying P.E. Lessons as in, Physical Education and not in fact Pee Lessons as it may have sounded. I can see so many confused faces with people having wild imaginative images of a group of 13 year old boys all lined up at a tiled wall, glancing down at blue urinal blocks whilst getting detailed instructions from a "Pee" Teacher on how, when and where to pee. It's not the image you want to have whilst munching down on choux pastry balls I can tell you, teehee. Loved all the giggles at the end.....awwww you guys! Loved it. Lee xx
Monica Baha'a Oh my word, I actually knew that, lol. I must have been on automatic pilot. I will amend it right now, because that will bother me, lol. Thanks. Lee x
Did you just looked down on the rest of Europe, Australia, and Asia? Do you think we're not that perceptive? I'm sure I speak for everyone else that uses the same terminology when I say that we actually understood the acronym.
ShinigamiZR Thank you. I think maybe certain people haven't actually realised that I was having a bit of a giggle with my comment. I certainly wasn't looking down on anyone, it's not my style. I think people get their knickers in a twist way too quickly on the internet these days. I think it was pretty clear that I was messing about, lol. There was even a "teehee" and everything in my comment, lol. You obviously got it. Thanks so much for your comment. Hope you have a fabulous day. Lee xx

"Staying in is the new going out", I'm totally with you, guys!!! :)
@@vaishali_prakash11 I don't know how we're watching this video 4 hours apart but I was thinking the same thing when I just happened to rewatch this and saw the intro
Some people like to binge watch TV shows. Meanwhile I like to binge watch SORTED Food videos. I've probably watched 50 or so videos in the past 2 days, amazing videos and definitely learning a lot of things about how to cook and tips when cooking.
With the exception of Barry, but I'd say the lads have all stayed relatively the same! Ben is still constantly in denial (Tyrone, now chess club...), Mike's popularity and Jamie. I am somehow not surprised Jamie just went for it and I think that... out of the 4 he is probably still the most likely one to do something like that.
It's been years and I have only now realized this by seeing your comment lmao peeing lessons just kept making sense to me because of how Jamie was in the shower afterwards lol
Best video ever!!! I've been watching you guys for so long and I always wanted to hear a bit of your stories. This was so cute and personal!! By the way, about the recipe, it looks gorgeous!! Ben, you are a great chef and a lovely person! ;)
Can you guys please make a salad that actually tastes really good and that will fill me up until dinner because whenever I eat salads I end up hungry a couple of hours later! Love you all x
Depending on who you asks, creme pattisiere (French spelling) can also be half what you just mad and half whipped cream. This is also really great to use because it makes it lighter. Also I've never seen anyone just build that tower like that without anything as an aid. And I'm pretty sure (because I can only base on what I saw) that the pastry puffs are usually a lot crisper, which comes from letting it on the heat longer after the flower is added, but that can also makes it taste too much like eggs. Your dough did look a bit runny, but hey it did rise in the oven! All in all I'm impressed you guys took a go at it, and it looks delicious too!
Ollie Oil after last episode when Mike was acting as a boom pole to share his mic with James and James started gently stroking his back... I totallu ship Mike and James now. They had such a cute moment. ♡w♡
Hi guys, love your you tubes. If you get mild burn from things like sugar in the kitchen, after rinsing with ice water, u can try applying pure lavender essential oil directly over the area. If helps accelerate the healing at super fast rate. Helps with the pain too. Hopes this helps.
I just wanted to thank you guys for this awesome recipe! I had an interview for a new art program, and brought them this and they loved it. You guys make everything seem so easy and simple and I just wanted to thank you for that! 😊🎂
"You add it (flour) until a.) it's smooth, over the heat and 2.) it starts to come away from the sides of the pan." Yep Ben that's how the alphabet works, perfect.
AHAHAHA!! "a beautiful nest over your fantastic stack" Good job I wasn't just listening to this, would have thought Ben and the boys had turned duuuurty in the kitchen. Oh the images!
Daaaamn so much inspiration from masterchef in here. Gotta say though, I love it because Masterchef AUS is just on and it's my Mist favourite TV Show ever :)
Ive made croquembouche before. With chocolate, matcha, coffee, and vanilla cream filling. Didnt have enough to make a hole tower, kinda made a crown instead. But it turned out delicious!! Did i mentioned my friend and i were only 13? ;)
This is the very 1st video I'm seeing from you; And it only took one to get me to subscribe. I really like the construction of the video, Half of the video is the night in and the other hal is teaching de recipe with a dash of good humour! Really well balanced video. You guys are amazing, the food looks awesome and I probably will spend the night watching the food porn you are making. Keep the videos coming!
I'm 11 years old and when I was 10 I made a croquembouche in 2014 for Australia Day and 2 mini ones for my sisters birthday 2014. Surprised that the boys didn't use a cardboard cone, but it looks pretty rustic!
As someone who stuck the removable bottom to the tin with caramel making millionaire shortbread this week: it's really good to know even the trained professionals spill the flour and drop the egg shell in :P Thank you Ben :)
So I made this with almond milk rather than hazelnut (could not find that stuff for the life of me) and it was fantastic. I did find that if the profiteroles are too large, they'll rise to a point and just fall flat back in on themselves, making them a bit difficult to fill. I caught on after a batch, but I just thought I'd share :)
I think I just contracted diabetes hahaha another great video!! Loving this series and the extra talking sessions at the end. Makes it a lot more personal and intimate :)
Barry: "It will be a scar to tell the girls about." I am sure the ladies will swoon over the tale of your epic battle with the evil tree of profiteroles, lol ;)
I know right!! They are so awesome!! It's like Ben is the geeky bae, Barry is the confused bae, Jamie is the funny bae while Mike is the charming bae. :D
Instead of dipping it in the caramel i kind of had the caramel poured over each of the choux as i was building the tower, because i didn't wanted to burn my finger tips xd I haven't tasted it yet as i want to share it with my friend tomorrow, but i bet i tastes great! Thank you for this recipe! ^_^ (and i've used almond milk as there was no hazle not milk to be found :3)
A Splash of Inspiration i assumed he must have been under much more pressure to film as many recipes as possible to post during their #lostandhungry tour. honestly, i didn't even expect for recipes during the tour except for vlogs or something. well, at least he's on (working) vacation now. ;p

"staying in is the new going out" has never rung more true
"A, it's smooth, over the heat, and 2, it comes away from the edge." I didnt know 2 was a letter now. Go check at 1:27
Hannah Gandon HA amazing! How did we not notice this before now?
Ahahaha
Hannah Gandon Refer to section A, point #2 within the Pastry Recipe please.
2015: “Staying in is the new going out.”
2020: “Write that down, write that down!”
I honestly thought Ben's answer to how to make food look classy was going to be put a little bit of mint on it :P
Sprig of mint to be exact haha
Patricia Steele lol yes!
I love big nights in so much because of the intimacy the endings have. I love your childhood freindship stories they're funny and kind of war my heart
is it just me who loled at 5:34
"beautiful nest over your fantastic stack"-Ben as always
This is the recipe you make when you have way too many eggs and they're about to expire.
Noodle Tongs Aka not possible in early 2020
How awesome are you guys !! Not only do you show us how to cook and bake, but also the importance friendship aswell. You guys are a great example of a beautiful, long last friendship! ! Thank you for making me laugh and sharing your pricless moments!! Good Day to you all ! :D
just started watching your channel yesterday and you guys are such a delight to watch! Amazing recipes and such heart warming camaraderie! 😁
Thanks Shilpa, welcome to the SORTEDfood community!
+SORTEDfood family*. Family, not community
"What's the simplest way to make food look classy?"
A sprig of mint. Always mint.
Ever since I came across sorted food; I couldn't stop watching them. I hope you guys can come visit Indiana someday!
It's so wonderful to see that you four have remained friends for such a long time. It's so rare these days to make time for friends and the fact that you all have managed to do that in addition to working with something you love is amazing!
LOVE the stories about when you were younger.
More stories please about your friendship.
I LOVE BEN!!!!!!!!!
It's so cute that a the guys have known each other for so long, and that their friendship is still going! Love the recipe too!
they are so lively...just watching them all together laughing and talking makes my day...!!
Okay, this has got to be my favorite Big Night In so far. The ending was absolutely golden
I think finding this channel is one of the best things to have happened for me. So many of these dishes seem so easy and simple to reproduce, and I *love* cooking! It's definitely inspired me to spend my last summer at home cooking all sorts of food, and healthy food at that!
Might make this for Eid or during Ramadan!

Crafty Loops Haha! that was hilarious indeed!
P.s. it's Choux* pastry...as in cabbage in french :)
I'm sure I speak for everyone else that uses the same terminology when I say that we actually understood the acronym.
blizzaroxxx I'm from Canada and I was understandably confused when it didn't sound like Mike enunciated individual letters.
ShinigamiZR Thank you. I think maybe certain people haven't actually realised that I was having a bit of a giggle with my comment. I certainly wasn't looking down on anyone, it's not my style. "Staying in is the new going out", I'm totally with you, guys!!! :)
staying in really IS the new going out at the moment hahaha
Looks like Mike Hutttlestone predicted the lockdown years ago!.....
@@vaishali_prakash11 I don't know how we're watching this video 4 hours apart but I was thinking the same thing when I just happened to rewatch this and saw the intro
This has aged very well lol
Ben looked so nervous when they were talking about the shells
this is possibly one of my favourite sorted videos ever
I love Mike sooo much. He makes me laugh so much . He so cute😘
Some people like to binge watch TV shows. Meanwhile I like to binge watch SORTED Food videos. I've probably watched 50 or so videos in the past 2 days, amazing videos and definitely learning a lot of things about how to cook and tips when cooking.
I love how the four of you are friends since school, really nice friendship there!
I'm absolutely LOVING this series but I must say this one is my favorite so far.
this reminds me of Masterchef Australia
Gita Savitri Devi Ben had shell in his... he'd be one of the cliff hanger contestants. XD
The moment Ben was biting his nails lol... I was salivating just by listening to the crunch. Keep up guys. Luv you all
I think I've said it before but I'm not sure.. CONGRATULATIONS ON 1000000 SUBSCRIBERS!!! 💜✨
Nabeelah 'Ox Thanks!

Awww, the nights in are the best! Love hearing more about your history and personalities.
My mum made this and I was speechless it was the most DELICOUS desert I've ever had, GOOD JOB
Because of you guys I learned to cook. Im 15 and I cook dinner for my parents every time now :)
Well after the junk bouncing in incident in the lost and hungry trailer...
Socken oh God... I did not need to be reminded of that.
+Socken ....What...???
The video is "Lost and Hungry: WORLD TOUR!"
Was I the only one who heard pee instead of PE when Mike told the story. My mind was like it will only be in Britain that you have Pee lessons.
Majka løvendahl i thought pee too, i was very confused for a second there
(you had to be taught how to pee?)
Majka løvendahl Physical education which is exercise and sports not peeing lessons lmao
Idrankyourcoffeewhileyouwerereadingmyusername
I studied it so it is funny how could hear it wrong but the accent did it for me.
Majka løvendahl sameeeee
It's been years and I have only now realized this by seeing your comment lmao peeing lessons just kept making sense to me because of how Jamie was in the shower afterwards lol
This is my favorite episode now its so touching, adorable, and funny.👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
The only cooking channel that will keep me entertained and make me laugh...
Best video ever!!!

Oh my this reminds me of during Christmas and how we make a plain version of this doused in green sprinkles

Made one of these back in high school.. it was basically an all day thing but so worth it! (even though I never ate it haha)
Nice work! Our wedding cake was a croquenbouch. Divine 😊
What's that pastry that they flip on 0:22 ? It looks so good!
I'd think that Barry wouldn't have to try that hard to impress everyone. Just give 'em that goofy cute smile. ☺️
Ben is so cute in this... esp at 2:27
Fully agree! Ben is yummy!
Ben is always cute! Haha.

^_^ (and i've used almond milk as there was no hazle not milk to be found :3)
1:26 A it's smooth...and 2... nice one haha
I love the questions at the end of these! :)
Is it "Ben fails at everything" day? XD
I'm sure it happens more often than we know. It's a good thing he has someone like Barry helpfully pointing out all his mistakes.
A Splash of Inspiration i assumed he must have been under much more pressure to film as many recipes as possible to post during their #lostandhungry tour. honestly, i didn't even expect for recipes during the tour except for vlogs or something. well, at least he's on (working) vacation now. ;p
Hahaha when we said two ways I saw so sure he was going to say Precision and a sprig of mint! x)
Bree Van de Kamp would be proud.
Mike can have me any day❤️😂
