    I really like the juxtaposition between the really old 1950s video footage and modern voiceover. I think it'd be really interesting to see an entire sex ed video made that way.

    ashleah's comment about not wanting to die because she wants to see what she can become has stuck with me since i watched this video for the first time months ago. its so sad to think that all these trans kids who've committed suicide will never get to see what their lives could be like in the future, and i want to live to see what i can be. thats what keeps me going. thank you so much ashleah.

      What?! Milo was looking down the entire interview. Just because you know what happened in hindsight does not mean the kid's mom should be vilified for trying to understand and accept their child. Milo being out and de-transitioning now has nothing to do with how hard she was fighting for this, THEN.
      Although I disagree with transitioning/especially doing it so young, it's clear this kid was filling the Mother's head with, "THIS IS THE REAL ME" ideology. She was simply trying to be loving. Milo now regrets it. Yeah. A lot of people regret their transition. The Mother must have been extremely confused going on this journey with her daughter doing this!

    • @katiet6569
      @katiet6569 6 лет назад +5

      Ace the Protector i really want to cut my hair short. I'm not trans but genderfluid (as I figured out today. I did some research 😂🙌) and I legit got my hair stuck in a drill (I was zoning out dont judge XD) and that kinda made me say "that's it. I'm going to look for some reference photos" and I found 2. I'm still working on it though!!! Btw I'm SO glad you feel happy with your hair!!!!!

    • @isabelladevlaeminck9381
      @isabelladevlaeminck9381 6 лет назад +10

      Yes they really are important! I'm a female and have always identified as one, but when I shaved my head to overcome my fear...I lost my feminity. I never felt right. When I started growing it out again, I've felt so much happier in my own skin. This is how I realized how important gender identity is. I felt dysphoria as a cis person, feeling like I looked like a boy and looking at my body after a shower; not matching up. It's incredibly important for a trans person to feel comfortable with something as simple as their hair, because it can really be the simple change that determines how you feel about yourself.

    • @makeawishkid1339

      RUclips Sensation Channel What do you mean "injecting in yourself"? Is that a typo or are you referring to when they take hormone shots?? If so, first of all, it's just "injecting yourself", you don't need the second "in". Anyway.... regarding your comment.... you know, I could even understand (not agree but understand) why you would think gender fluid people want attention or whatever but people who are literally transitioning and taking hormones.... even though the hormones can simply stopped to go back to "normal" it still seems like a crazy way to get attention and a little extreme lol like they could go out partying or start skipping school or idk get an older bf or gf or any number of things that don't change their damn gender and entire body and appearance. Not to mention literally like 60% of people literally look at you like you're a freak when they pass you on the street and probably 30% are mean and cruel to your face and 10% literally assault you.... why do that when they could just like do drugs or something for "attention" (I believe addiction is a true mental disorder akin to OCD but it was just the first thing that popped into my head).
      And anyway..... if someone is so desperate for attention that they LITERALLY CHANGE THE HORMONES IN THEIR BODY (which affects everything BTW including personality)... doesn't that mean they're truly mentally ill if nothing else and deserve special attention and help for that reason anyway. So yeah, I just don't get what you mean.

      they don't necessarily turn their back, they are frustrated at having to deal with a child who will never be normal.

    • @kristinb8268
      @kristinb8268 6 лет назад +6

      There are many reasons for it, but by far the number one reason I would say is religious ideology, and tradition. The 2nd reason is that they simply care more about themselves, and the appearance of their family to others more than they care about the well being, and happiness of their children, and spouse. So if they feel their child is making them look bad they will do 1 of 2 things.
      They will either force the child out of the home, or try to impose their will onto the child through means such as conversion
      eparative therapy, violence, and, or emotionally, and mentally abusive to make them behave in a way that the parent feels gives the best appearance to others outside the family. Leelah Alcorn's parents are an example of not only being motivated by both of those reasons, but also the tragic outcome of doing such things to a transgender person especially one so young.

    My parents yelled at me and told me I was NOT going to be Bisexual. I was going to be a straight woman. I left them, in tears, I ran to my room and the only thing on my mind was that I'm not going to be accepted. I went to suicide, but didn't go that far. I only self harmed. My friends accepted me and felt hope. Now, I've officially decided I'm a Transgender (FTM) Gay guy. I'm not sure what my world has for me.

      Peachycake_ if that’s what you think, then why are you even watching this video? Just to hate? Even if there are “only two genders,” why can’t you let people think a different way? Are they hurting anyone by being themselves? No. Sure there’re toxic people in every community that may hurt others, but the majority of people don’t aim to be harmful. So next time someone is doing/being something you don’t agree with and they’re not harming anyone, just let them be wrong. Like they say, “ignorance is bliss.”

      Nikyeeta In a Jumpsuit Nikyeeta In a Jumpsuit okay so why did you reply to them then, accusing them of being wrong? Lol sorry it just seemed hypocritical to me. I’m in the middle on the whole gender thing, your comment just kinda contradicted the point of your comment

      Savannah Gamble I get what you’re saying. I didn’t notice what I was saying was going directly against what I was saying lmao. I still think what I said is right, but in the future I’ll try to not be hypocritical.

    So...now that milo has come out and now says they regret their decision and that it was a huge mistake, let's see if MTV will do a special program following up on all the other "trans kids" in this video and show us where they are today. Anyway I doubt if this comment will ever be seen by anyone else.

    This Trans movement is going to cause a wave of new suicides, as they've rushed too many CHILDREN through the process. Too many are suffering life long consequences of surgery and hormones given to them, and they're cracking under their own reflections today to accept what they've made themselves. Milo, today in this video, is just one of many who regret their transition.

    So beautiful and emotionally charged with positivity. If only we lived in a world that encouraged less hate and more love like this. So proud of Madin Lopez for taking their hard life experiences and using them as a catapult for change. If only more of us who have been through such struggles could learn to redirect our pain into such positivity, wow the things we would accomplish. Madin is such a good role model for these youth, and even for people like me who have been through, (and continues to go through) my own struggles with aging out of the foster care system and self identity. Truly inspirational, so glad I watched this.

    Their happiness is so infectious and inspiring! Everybody should experience that kind of empowerment at some point in their life, especially after they have gone through so much already. All the people involved in this project are awesome for sacrificing so much for themselves and for other people. I really hope this documentary can help both trans people to be more confident and relatives and friends be more open-minded and supportive!
