  • The Pokka Pen ( amzn.to/3aZ9QOJ ) is a highly portable mini pen that is similar to a plastic version of the Fisher Space Pen 400B ( amzn.to/385lzti ). There is a standard Pokka Pen, as well as a Rite In The Rain all-weather version ( amzn.to/2MkNMUp ) that uses a Fisher pressurized refill that writes in any condition.

    Honestly I love your presentation. Even when something is well made or works fine you'll still show why you don't like or don't recommend it

    I have always enjoyed the Fisher Space Bullet pen for its convenience and I actually lean towards Pokka Pens more now due to the value u get compared to Fisher. I agree with u about the silver bullet thing being not overly useful, but the Dokka keyring attachment is perfect for putting these in kits as backups. While these are obviously not the most fantastic writers in the world, it is excellent as an edc option, especially in a pandemic world where having ur own pen is a good idea.

    These things are pretty handy. I carry the silver one (swapped pen for spacepen) on my belt loop and I just Pull-Pull-connect to have a pen anywhere, and I've never had it fall off. If it gets loose, Ill just glue a strong little magnet to the back and glue a ball bearing into the cap and it should hold forever. I have small bearings in the top of each groove on the cap already to make it look a little different and to make it never roll. Might try small tritium rods someday.
    The GF has a normal pink pokka that she EDCs and just drilled a hole through it below the connector and ran thin paracord though it.
    all in all, great little pens.

    The Rite in the Rain Pokkas may be the cheapest pocket-sized Fisher Space Pens available. The cheapest Fisher Bullet Space Pen is ~$20. You get _two_ Rite in the Rain Pokkas, which include Fisher Space Pen ink cartridges, for $12.95 (~$6.50/pen). That's a significant savings for those wanting a Fisher Space Pen.
    Also, Pokka offers black, blue, and red ballpoint refills on their website.

    I saw in another RUclips video that the rite in the rain pokka can be refilled/hacked, but you need to remove the black end cap rather than the orange tip.

    curious if you ever succeeded in busting this thing open to see if there is a standard-sized Fisher space pen refill inside

    These pens are metal detector friendly, FYI. I sand a flat spot into the cap to slow the roll.

      Oh smart. I’ll try that

      @@unsharpen ill expound a bit, sir, after some experimentation.
      I followed the natural flats on the lid, used a coarse file to flatten starting at 3 of the flats all the way to the open end. Then cleaned it up with fine sandpaper, used a little water here. Cleaned, then used alcohol to smooth it out.
      Great Channel, subbed!

    How did he call the clip a “cap” like 9 times without catching himself lmao 😂

    I think I'd rather have the Rite in the Rain version. Love Fisher refills. As far as the keyring variant, I'd probably unscrew it from the keyring piece when writing with it, and then you could post it. BTW, you said "cap" when you meant "clip", a bunch of times. No biggie. But you might want to throw a lower-third in those places.

    The metal version of the Pokka is the Fisher Space Trekker pen done ass backwards. Total product design failure. Also for my money, I just toss a plastic Kaweco Sport in my pocket. Almost similar length and weight as this Pokka and yet takes a plethora of G2 styled refills. The Pokka just feels more like a use-and-throw instrument given how cumbersome it appears to swap refills out

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  3 года назад +3

      Yea the kaweco is my pick as well. The question is ballpoint or roller

    • @paperspeaksco
      @paperspeaksco 3 года назад +3

      @@unsharpen Ballpoint for me. It's always safer to have a ballpoint around coz you can never know what kind of paper you might have to write with/on
