I haven't been this invested in a band in over 30 years! Since I discovered them some 18 months ago The Warning have become my favourite band - just can't get enough of them! Their music is how music should be done, not the ultra-commercial, stereotyped tripe the "music" industry and its captive "radio" stations have been feeding to us for decades. They're undoubtedly the best band of their generation. The sad thing is, forty or fifty years ago they would have been just one such band amongst many equally as good.

So that's why Ale switches to her Inferno bass for this song. I figured it had something to do with the tuning.
Dany says: "It's about missing someone and the energy this person gives you. You're drawn into their gravitational pull and brightness - like an automatic sun." The video was put together in one week. They shot it at Tecate Pa’l Norte in Monterrey on March 31st. The video team is led by Beto Ramos, Pau’s drum teacher, and Iván Chávez, recent graduate of the University of Monterrey film school. The team they lead is top notch. Their first major TW video was the Metropolitan concert. Dan Lancaster is listed in the credits as a co-producer of the song, a lyrics contributor and providing keyboards. Dan was a touring keyboardist for Muse.

Put on your best headphones. Double-tracked Fender baritone guitar and the most badass bass tone I’ve heard since Chris Squire left us. Paulina “Pau” uses the full-arm technique on drums and Ale drives the band with her Spector bass - she’s an ambassador for the company.
I love the sound of that guitar! Always wanted a bari guitar! They are all so bad ass! 🤘❤️🤘
In her rig rundown she said she uses an octave effect to thicken her sound especially live. I think the gear she uses also allows the octave to be be in stereo.
Mid-song? That bass-line and the bass drum.....lordy, doesn't get much better IMHO.

Automatic Sun is SO heavy, I haven't stopped listening to it since the premier. I've said it before, a heavy doom metal riff with super catchy lyrics shouldn't work, but these ladies pull it off. FYI, "burn your eyes out" is a line from Blue Oyster Cult's song Hot Rails to Hell 🤘

With that being said Dany is becoming a once in a lifetime singer. Her ability to go from high to sultry low and then right back up all while playing guitar is amazing.

Dany has a baritone Fender Strat , and Ale's bass is downtuned, and yes distorted. Couple quick strums up at the headstock were pretty cool. Great visual effects with the 'eclipse'. and of course pyro. 'Fierce ' is a word I've seen used quite a bit to describe Pau. Another reactor said there was one thing about this video he didn't like, not enough Pau-Cam, lol.
So , it got dark in Buffalo, but only got a few peeks at the eclipse, through the clouds when they thinned a bit, no need for special glasses here.

Every scene and moment with Pau is amazing. I’ve seen videos of their performance of Automatic Sun shot by their fans. All three are amazing on stage. Dany and Ale had amazing moments not captured in these video. I would love a video showing all three simultaneously! Three brilliant suns on stage. Absolutely dazzling!

Yes,their lyrics are direct, powerful and nuanced. You’re right on the meaning of the song. JSYK, Automatic Sun is the sexiest song I’ve heard from TW.
That being said, you heard the dense, dirty power of the double-tracked baritone guitar and 5-string bass. Paulina, the drummer, goes by Pau. She puts the POW in “power trio.”
Some rock purists don’t like this song and they say TW are selling out. They don’t appreciate the expansion of the band’s creative palette. In “Automatic Sun,” I’m hearing heavy new rock, traditional rock influences, dance-rock and metal. That drop near the ending is the heaviest music I’ve heard in many years. It’s the new pop-rock and it has some of the values of power pop.
Those who insist on putting music in one of a gazillion cubbyholes are of little interest or importance, to me anyway. I like what I like, and it covers a lot of ground. These women have the most interesting sound to come along for a long time.
They utilize their influences and sometimes you can really hear them come through. I love that! Keeping the torch lit! 🤘❤️🤘

I earlier made a comment that moments with Automatic Sun were not all captured in this video. I just saw Ceci Dover vocal coach react to a fan shot of Automatic Sun and she saw something not captured in the official video. When Dany hits one of the highlights of the song, Dany looks so electrically charged that her hair stood up and away from her as if she was hit by a burst of static. It was only an instant, but it was incredible and so appropriate as Dany was so electrifying! As if Dany could transmit that energy that Ceci reacted when the hair on her arm stood up at the heavy outro of Automatic Sun!

Wow! LIke you, I just loved the distortion effect they used on the background guitar, like at timestamps 2:39 and again at 3:38 through 3:55 when you replayed it. Rammstein uses a similar sound/riff in a few of their songs. It gives me goosebumps! A great song overall, and I really enjoyed it and your analysis.

By the way, nice t-shirt! When did you march? I’m in Pittsburgh, and got introduced to DCI in the early 80’s. Was a big fan of the Bridgemen out of Bayonne (the banana band, as they were known), as well as the Cadets.
Absolutely a fun ride! My dad marched with The Hawthorne Caballeros in the 60s and joined the alumni corps in the mid-90s. I marched with 20th Century Limited and The Bushwackers from Harrison, NJ. Loved the Bridgemen! Sadly, the Cadets have folded after being one of the oldest active corps in existence, just this year. Its criminal that bands like this dont get radio air play . Its become the more you pay the more they play you which is robbing us all of true talent and replacing it with manufactured crap.
I don't think it's criminal at all. I think hard rock/ heavy metal shouldn't be on the radio. Radio is not where real music lives. As a metalhead most of my life I'm used to bands like this being ignored. Only on specific radio shows can you hear music like this (or services like Sirius XM, Spotify and Apple which is better). Remember, radio would censor and edit songs down to be more 'radio friendly'. Yuck!

There's nothing in these lyrics that would be censored . If you wanted to censor songs then there isn't a rap song in the last 20 years that would make it onto radio.
