This worked! I mixed toothpaste, baking soda , vinegar and added a bit of olive oil together. I heated the iron then switched it off. The toothbrush melted but it cleaned the iron lol. Then I switched it back on for a few seconds, switched it off then pressed the steam button a few times over the sink and rocked it to clean out anything that was in the holes. I might try this on pans !! Thanks I was about to buy a new iron you saved me money and time. Took about 5 mins altogether.

What if baking ingredients enter in the iron from back holes
Is it possible to do only with baking soda & vinegar?
tooth paste is must
It really worked! Only works doing it while it's hot though. Great advice thanks!

Do we have to try when the plate is hot
I tried it .... didn't work 😪

I tried this... But it didn't work at all. Besides it was too tiresome to remove that mixture from the tiny holes on the iron plate.
Must the iron be hot or not?

Or just buy one of those specially made iron-cleaning sticks and use that. They're made to clean your iron plate without damaging or scratching it.
@@hottchubbz615 Depends on where you live. I'm in Spain, I'm sure they don't have our brands there.
@@hottchubbz615 The two most popular are Rayen Limpia Planchas and Prym Limpiador de Planchas. Rowenta also does one.
Doesn't work
