I pulled out my art history textbook for this weeks video and tried to study up on Rococo some more. I don't remember spending a lot of time on it when I was in college but my last art history class was almost 13 years ago :) Between a google search and looking through my text book I would say my favorite piece is The Swing. I'm really drawn to the colors and I loved the more up close image you shared in the video where you could really see the brushstrokes. I love that in all of the pieces you shared there is so much content to each of them - these artists really gave us as their audience a lot to dive in to.

The flying angels of #1 give it a surreal look. The knot in the ribbon at the back of the figure in #3 is beautifully accomplished. and the dog climbing up on the table in the last panel of six in #4 is hysterical. - thanks.

kinda new to learning about this i may not be as well versed in this style and time period, but i really wanna learn more, ive seen videos of baroque and rococo style churches in europe and im nothing short of blown away , but the art has captured me i mean im loving connecting history religion economics through art, also trying to learn about the rennaissance and what that brought, where would be a good place to start learning about the rococo art period?

I don't know the importance it has to the movement but I've always really liked The Declaration of Love by Jean François de Troy, the 1731 version

Thanks for sharing! This is a beautiful piece. How did you first come across this painting?
De Troy is an important figure to Rococo. He was commissioned for paintings at the Palace of Versailles and was known for his more realistic depictions of the French aristocracy (other artists liked to exaggerate their flamboyant lifestyle). He also became the Director of the French Academy in Rome.
