Probably varies by individuals (I've heard some people have to essentially become adults at like age 12 for their family, late bloomers exist, etc) but I'd probably say on average adulthood starts around age 23-25. Here, I'd say starting my first full time job after college (age 23) was my largest leap, even moreso than finally moving out at age 27
I'd say, Kate, you're not over 80, for you've put a cap on that 'Golden Age.' I'm 88 and am still very much in my Golden Years...and loving being here.
Check out what Quran says about how to navigate the age of 40 - Gratitude! Surat Al-'Aĥqāf (The Wind-Curved Sandhills) - سورة الأحقاف And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."
This is very interesting, i really enjoyed. What i can relate is a verse in the Quran mentions being 40 is when you at manhood and top of your strength and adulthood, and that is when you appreciate everything. Here is the full translation of the verse. "We have charged the human to be kind to his parents. With much pain his mother bore him, and with much pain she gave birth to him; his bearing and weaning are thirty months. When he grows to manhood and attains his fortieth year, he says: 'Make me so disposed my Lord, so that I give thanks for the favors with which You have blessed me, my father and mother, and that I will do good deeds that will please You. And, make me righteous and also my descendants. To You I repent, and I am among those who surrender."
Very good question from the lady ( the first question). Life begins at 40 is more related to middle class western man up bringing. In Asia people age automatically and once they age, certain thing happen. They get married, have children and bring up the children.
An explanation for the lower incidence (or lack of reporting of menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, weight gain, mood swings etc.) in some cultures is the diet. If you cook from scratch, and eat mostly plant foods (not a vegetarian diet, just make vegetables 2/3 of the food you eat, volume wise) you should remain symptom free. Unfortunately it's easier for doctors to prescribe HRT than to prescribe salsds and stifr fries with cruciferous vegetables...
Interestingly, Elliott Jacques mentions a midlife crisis at age 37 and one at 60 - these are parallel to the maturation of Saturn and the 2nd Saturn return in a person's life respectively. Saturn cycles are connected to the person's karmic lessons.
Regarding aging, Allah says in the Qur’an, “… until, when he reaches maturity and reaches forty years, he says, ’My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to work righteousness of which You will approve, and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims’” (Qur’an, 46:15).
Spose it will all change again in the coming years as technology and the transhumanists start fiddling about ...life expectancy just over a hundred years ago was an average of 35..little bit longer if lucky. Now it's 70 in some countries and so in another 100 years it might well be 140. So the mid life crisis iwill be at 70!

The further away I am from 20, the more I'm certain of 0-20 childhood, and the closer I get to 30, the more I believe in 20-40 adolescence
Wholeheartedly agree with this breakdown. It's actually very clarifying. Thank you. ☀️

My life started when I stopped watching the news.

samoans are biologically different than us. it's not interchangeable. their society is rooted in their biology as is ours.
life ends at 30
The guy who got the last question is actually a woman. Oh my goodness, talk about real life crises!!!!
that last one is a woman? she sounds like a man
I thought the same
That was surprising.
@@paftaf yes it was but it's a twisted generation that we live in.
Plot twist. but I'll bet there'll be a greater one in the 'near future'
It's merely vocal chord length. Maybe that person has had some medical/biological reason for it. No big deal.
