Hi Alex, thanks for the lovely video! I have tried to use your 20% OFF link on Film Vibes, but it doesn't seem working... do you have a promo code instead?
Anything in static equilibrium is not interesting. A TV news will never report a story about a plane that took off and landed safely; if there are no conflicts, things lose interest. Similarly, the rule of thirds creates an imbalance, inviting the viewer to ask questions. The rule of thirds is the graphic transposition of our philosophy of life. It is the inciting incident in narrative. It is a dominant seventh chord in a musical composition.
It almost fits the Golden ratio as well (space is divided into areas that contain 62% and 38% of the frame). This ratio is a strangely natural and pleasing to us and appears in different things in our environment (like in how leaves grow). So I think, adding to what you said, the rule of third/golden ratio is simply an inherently likeable ratio for humans. Edit: Corrected the percentage values, they were not entirely correct.
@@dertomh another great adition as well , ty for sharing it! -- I love seeing the connections between film and life. I believe it makes you a more natural and immserive storyteller if you see the connections between everything.
Such a great video, Alex! I learned a new technique from you! I never knew about short side framing! Your lessons are so professional and very easy to understand. I appreciate you!
Hey thanks. I shot this with the 24 to 35 mm sigma art lens. The focal length is somewhere between 20 and 35 mm. I would probably say probably around 30 mm.
Thank you ever so much, Alex 😊 I would have loved to study cinematography 😌 I have a vivid imagination and seeing things from other people’s perspectives (in more than visual sense) comes natural to me. Yesterday I saw a filming crew shooting something in the city where I live, and saw a filming camera for real. Man, I’m telling you, that was something I will never forget! I even imagined for a moment or two being a cameraman. 🤩 I am fascinated.

Good video, but it would help if the editing between clips wasn't so fast, so we can digest the frames and thus your points well.

Why not u set your frame like that ?
😂😂😂
when person talk directly to the camera. The person will be placed in the centre of the frame
I have a little question or context, what is the reference of your paintings behind?
They look like GIK acoustic treatment panels.
Great video!
