Kamigawa Neon Dynasty was my first set getting into MTG so this had an additional nostalgic feeling. I really enjoy this type of themed decks! Also Shoutout to the hardworking producers and creatives behind the scenes! The interaction between CGB and Blake with Rhystic Study and Smothering Tithe is ridiculous.
This was a great episode! I love high power commander; it's fun to see you all go (almost) all out and with minimum salt levels. This is a great pod and I cant wait for more episodes!
Somehow I missed this during my personal youtube summer break. Guess there are some things I have to catch up to (after starting on Planar Championship Round 4 :D) I love it! So much flavor! But thank you for the reminder that every. white. deck. needs Farewell ;)
This taught me a lot, both in things I didn't realize like how targeted removal is (once again) less effective against another commander but also in confirmation of play patterns I've hypothesized to increase longevity so I can win with my favorite commander, Go - Shintai. Loved the game, thank you!
I really wanted Ben to win after the Ruinous Ultimatum. If only he had a Bojuka Bog as his land for turn. That would have sealed CGB's vehicle graveyard.
This "Planar Championship" concept is really cool! The planes are so distinct, and I think this will really let that show. Also, RIP to Ben for the worst Ruinous Ultimatum ever, through no fault of his own u_u
Fwiw, i love the power level balance of these decks, theyre perfectly strong imo and fun to watch. The tax man mirror was hilarious. Also, i can appreciate it as a shorikai player myself, having piloted the deck before its durdly but really fun. Ggs everyone
I want a game where everyone has blue, white, black themed decks. Everyone has ryhstic study, smothering tithe, and annoited procession and then everyone cast fractured identity on any of the enchantments
talk about the comeback of the century. Definitely felt like the game was going to be over really quickly but a few big swings turned the tide of this champion battle.
I’m fine with having one or the other between Rhystic Study or Smothering Tithe on my board at a time, but not both. I’m self conscious enough about just having one out, and about how much time I take on my own turns.
My Isshins worst possible is T4 infinite combat using Lightning Runner and either another energy generator like Aethergeode Miner or Guide of Souls and attacking token makers like Krenko.
After The Ultimatum CGB shouldn’t have been drawing off of any but the first spell and when Ben drew a card he shouldn’t be make treasures anymore. The triggered card are enchantments not artifacts

This had to be... one of the most disgusting EDH gameplays II've witness with 2 players both of the having those braindead enchantments at the same time.... pure AGONY, those pretty much won the game..., lets just say Very rarely do I root for Yuriko 😅 ... Having said that, I really like the Championship concept, and maybe can be for the planes visited in the current standard or something
i'll be honest, I'm kinda sad you didn't just go straight to the CEDH versions. I'm guessing because they'd be too expensive for everyone who isn't CGB, and your sponsors would be uncomfortable with proxies xD

This is why Tithe and Rhystic should be banned. It basically turned into a 2 player game, where Ben and Shay basically got to watch. Love the content though, keep it up.
I’d love to see Kibler, Josh from game knights , CGB, and Jim from the spike feeders all play a level 9 edh game sometime. Like - as sweaty as possible without playing cedh.
Unironically CGB shouldnt have attacked with Shorikai or ALL of his treasures. I think the attack was overkill on Shay lol. Edit: NVM CGB cast Brilliant Restoration LOL good stuff.

Poor Blake losing even though he had it all. One of the funniest episodes thanks to rhystic study and tide. I am pretty sure Kibler can beat CGB.
