Mercedes, I just stumbled on your videos today and I am absolutely stunned. I don't care what anyone says, you are the most expressive dancer in the world today or yesterday. People must get used to the idea that we are a multi-cultural world and that there are fusions happening and styles should not be thought of as having to be traditionally correct. Belly dance is evolving; it's not just a western thing, the Russians are doing it too, also the Asians.
So graceful! The costume is awesome, too!

the only interesting thing for me is, if i can see the soul of the artist while he/ she is dancing - and there is no question: your dance is touching! in your passion i can see your respect you give to egypt and his culture. do people have an idea how long it takes to dance on this high level?! and finally i want to say, i´m not interested at all in a copy of a copy of a copy of a traditional dancer ...

I agree, there are things such as right and wrong in the dance. The question is who can decide about it? Until I'm getting especially good feedbacks from Egyptian professionals about my Oum Kalthoum interpretations, I'm relaxed. Of course everybody can do better, always, I agree on this too. So, let me learn: as I can see from your comments, being creative is a western thing, having emotions is drama, so can you please post an Oum K. interpretation which you think is right?
she walks a lot and makes those sudden moves that transparent the lack of touch with the music. This is a constructive comments not destructive. If she takes it into consideration she will do a lot better as she has all the means to be a successful belly dancer. The belly dancers known by moving along with music in a very sexy, slow, sensual way that impress the audience of all race not only the Arabs. She needs more practice!

انا اشكرك على المشاركه برايك واحترم وجهة نظرك بالتأكيد ممكن تكون فعلا لازم تدرب اكتر من كده بس انا مارح انكر احساسها الرائع مع الرقص الشرقي ولاتنسي هيه من بلاد اجنبيه في وقت عدد من الراقصات للرقص الشرقي من مصر يكون رقصهم للاغراء فقط وليس بتناغم الجسد مع الموسيقى ماأعتقد انها وصلت مرسيدس لهاي المرحله من الرقص بسهوله وشكرا جزيلا
