  • Japanese racehorse Deirdre's story has captured the hearts of horse racing fans all over the world.
The mare's European odyssey began in England at Royal Ascot Racecourse 2019, where she ran sixth behind Crystal Ocean in the Prince of Wales's Stakes.
However, she responded in emphatic style to win the Group 1 Nassau Stakes for Japan at Goodwood Racecourse under jockey Oisin Murphy.
Her next challenge comes up in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown, Ireland as she seeks to achieve more G1 glory for her country.
Her 2019 campaign initially started in Japan before she travelled to Meydan Racecourse in Dubai for the Dubai Turf and then on to Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong for The FWD QEII Cup.

Absolutely well done! We love Deidre here in the UK too! It's great that Japan is participating in English racing especially in Grade 1's. We wish you all, Deidre and any upcoming Japanese stars nothing but the very best.

A very nice filly, and beautiful too. Can she run against Enable, Magical and all those super colts and still be competitive? Think not.

1 win from 4 races in Europe suggests that the title of the video is maybe a bit over the top.

I used to work with this horses. The saddest thing is seen them after a race win or lose the next day they look so weak and in pain ..
