    Great video, absolutely loving the short shifts!! Took me a solid 3h for the whole thing, mostly because I'm not very mechanically inclined, but it was definitely worth it. I feel like this can be done in an easy 30mins for someone else. Can't wait for the BFI shift knob to pair it with now.

      @@theclutch19 i actually ended up up removing it after a couple months. the throws were much shorter but it caused me more trouble than i wanted. I ended up going back to stock and i love it. i’m not racing the car so it doesn’t make sense for me

    all my gears are going in fine when engine is off but when its running, but 2nd gear sometimes goes in sometimes it wont. do you think adjusting the linkage could change something here or there is no point and its more likely the synchro ring?

    • @JXBPerformance
      @JXBPerformance  2 года назад

      If it goes in fine with the car off, the linkage is set correctly and adjustment won't help. I think you're either looking at a synchro issue or a clutch drag issue, depending if it affects other gears as well.

      @@JXBPerformance Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunate for me though, I thought adjusting the linkage would help! Its probably not clutch drag because its not happening on other gears. Its strange because when I change gears gently its fine, but when I try to do it more aggressively, there is sometimes a clunk when the gear goes in, no grinding though. Also only happens when cold, when the car warms up its much better.

    would you reccomend or is it possible to use this kit with the jhm "solid" short shifter? maybe without the drop clamp or something? please forgive my ignorance for the question, but I was thinking it would be good to get away from the plastic components of the stock one. what would you reccomend for best "feel" for sporty driving? I did watch your comparison video and I do realize your kit had much less slop than the jhm solid, so I do understand that.

    • @JXBPerformance

      The "drop clamp" is what we call the "short shift clamp" and is not compatible with the JHM shifter; however, the other component we call the "shifter mounting plate" is compatible and can be purchased separately here: www.jxbperformance.com/products/billet-shifter-mounting-plate
      It can also be purchased along with our linkage reinforcement upgrade here: www.jxbperformance.com/products/b8/85-might-as-well-be-gated-kit

    hi. recently installed thus and upon installing im getting a weird whirring sound when the pedal is depressed and the gears whine quite loudly. 1 3 5 more. im able to get into all gears and ive adjusted everything 3 times and the noise still persists. i sent you an email about it with a video but just want to comment here incase you reach this first. any advice appreciated

      Hey Zac, responded to your emails. Please check your inbox/spam and respond there for proper tracking.
      Generally, I believe you are now hearing a noise that's always been there, as the shifter can't make a whirring sound (nothing spins to make it). Since you have the center console pulled apart there's quite a bit of sound deadening material that's not currently installed, so you're likely hearing something that's always been there but just couldn't be heard through all the sound deadening. The shifter plate and billet bushings are also more rigid than stock, so would transmit any NVH coming through the shift linkage more to the cabin. We don't typically get NVH complaints about this product though, so my bet is still on the sound deadening being removed causing you to hear something you couldn't before.

      @@JXBPerformance okay thanks wasn’t really blaming it on the shifter itself moreso just wondering if moving the linkage could cause this. thanks for the help
