Sadly this is only available in PowerPoint 365 for Mac, not earlier versions. :(

I just thought of a crazy idea, but have no idea if I should go through the lengthy testing phase or if it just plain old won't work: Is it possible to put an animated object and its triggers into the Slide Master, and then access those triggers from the main slide deck by using the layout? I want to create an advanced scoring system for some of my future PowerPoint games that's solely fueled by nothing but animation triggers, but it would have to work across multiple slides without manual duplication, so as to keep the score and its manipulation consistant.

You can certainly have animated/triggered content in the slide master on layouts, but as you'd then have multiple slides using the same layout, any animations that you trigger on one slide, won't be triggered on other slides. So, if you want the initial state each time you come to a slide, then that's great. But if you want to show content that's already been triggered, then using standard slide content and hyperlinks to go back to the single slide with all the triggers would be best.

Thank you, BrightCarbon, I was afraid of that. But on the bright side - er, the BrightCarbon side - my current generation scoring system already utilizes the exact same tactics you discussed here, so, I'm all good! Thank you so much for testing that FOR me, I've got three "big budget", yet completely free-to-enjoy, titles in development right now, and between writing the scripts for each's voice acting, playwriting, and development plans; I'm pretty tight on time for experiments whose executions would turn out more than seventy percent futile. So I really do appreciate your kindness a thousand fold!

@@JadeJohnsonIndustries You're welcome. Sorry it doesn't work, but at least you know. Good luck with the projects. Hope they're fun!

Oh, don't worry, @@Brightcarbon, they will be! I've postponed two of them to reinforce my company's recent focus on encouraging nonviolence, but as a result, I've added just as many to replace them, this new couple being much more fit to fulfill said goal, and which shall be even more enjoyable to develop. Thank you for your interest!

How do you get the triggers to reset when going to a different slide, and then back to this one? For example, i have a 'new game' button that links to the first slide but the link on the first slide that takes me back to the slide with the triggers, has the trigger animations already activated.

To make it easier, let's assume the slide with triggers on is slide 10. If you go straight back to slide 10, that has already had triggers activated, you'll see those activated trigger animations on the slide (which can sometimes be useful). If you want to reset them, you'll have to go to slide 9, then click through onto slide 10, which will bring up a fresh instance of slide 10 with none of the activated triggers. You could make slide 9 a blank, auto transition slide though, so when you arrive on slide 9, it instantly goes to a fresh version of slide 10. Does that make sense?

@@Brightcarbon I call that, "The Buffer Slide Technique", and I use it in all my PowerPoint games, especially those with FMV clips in them! :D
