JESUS is now sat at the right hand of the FATHER, the only safe way to read the Bible is literally, as far as that is possible. Furthermore, when JESUS said HE is the vine, HE means we come to HIM for our spiritual nutrition, when HE said HE is the door, HE means HE is the only way to Heaven. Finally, when the Bible says 1000 years it means 1000 years, when it says 7 year Tribulation, it means 7 years too. To finish, when JESUS said HE sat at the right hand of the FATHER, JESUS means it, also while HE is on earth HE speaking about what shall soon be the case for HIM.

Hello! I'm a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. This was a great video and I wish more people would discuss things remotely as civilly and christ like as you when talking about my faith. We live in a crazy world so someone like you is a breath of fresh air. I'm very careful with my theology so I went through and analyzed everything you said and quoted, and I didn't find anything that really disproved my church. That said, I don't realy think it would be helpful for me to list a book of all the ways my church fits with what you presented here😂
At the end of the day we both love Jesus and try our best to follow him. No one will ever agree perfectly with another and will never come close to understanding a fraction of what God knows in this life. I know he loves me and is there to help me become the best I can be. I trust in him and know that as I try he will lead me to where I need to go on my way back to heaven. I know he lives and loves all of us more than we could ever know❤
Again, thank you for treating my church and its members with kindness, genuinely thank you🙏🙏🙏

What are you talking about? He's teaching personal apostasy. Just straight blasphemy. And doesn't even explain an alternative option that replaces the pure, beautiful doctrine we have.

My point was, we don't use the addition to the Bible of the Christian Creeds to interpret the Bible so of course we will understand it differently.
It seems odd to me that you can't believe Stephen saw God standing at the right hand of God but believe in a very real lake of fire where God will torture everyone.
What is your method of deciding what is symbolic and what is real?

@@NancyBrown-xw8hg I would be surprised if there was a single non-LDS scholar who would read this verse and believe that it was in reference to the physical location of where Christ is physically standing. If it was, then it would make more sense if it said to the right "side" of the Father, rather than right hand.
You've heard of someone being referred to as the "right hand man." This is a common metaphor that is never taken literally. If there is a common phrase that is used metaphorically throughout Scripture, the I think it is a fair position to take.
But furthermore, we see Jesus using this same phrase about himself in Luke 22:67-69
"If you are the Messiah,” they said, “tell us.” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me, and if I asked you, you would not answer. But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.”
Jesus was standing on earth talking to the religious leaders when he said this. He wasn't sitting and God the Father wasn't physically next to him either. What are thoughts of how "seated at the right hand of the mighty God/Father" is used in this verse and then applying it to the Acts passage with Stephen seeing Christ seated at the right hand of the Father?

The word Rebellion was translated Departure in the 1st 8 editions of the Bible, it means standing away from the earth and refers to most likely the Rapture of the Gentile Believers prior to 7 year Tribulation, which is the the end of the 6th Dispensation. Finally, in the last 42 months known as Great Tribulation which is last 3 and half years of 7 year Tribulation, this is when JESUS turns back to dealing with the Jews, for the time of the Gentiles is then fulfilled.

Two things wrong with your understanding regarding the Priesthood. First, not everything that Christ taught or did was actually recorded. This is evident by John writing that if everything Christ taught and did were to be recorded, there would not be enough books to contain them. Second, there is evidence of laying on of hands. First, is Acts where the eleven and those with the eleven were gathered together and they were praying. Then Peter asked regarding who will be the one to fill the vacancy left by Judas of Iscariot. They prayed to determine if it was Matthias or another individual. When the Lot fell on Matthias. Now, while it is not explicitly stated that the Eleven laid their hands on Matthias and ordained him, it is implied. And here is how it is implied. Annanias came to Paul and laid his hands upon him, and Paul not only received the gift of the Holy Spirit, but he was also baptized by Ananias. This is in Acts 9:10-16. What is interesting is that though the text does not explicitly state that Paul received "priesthood authority" we know that when Ananias received revelation to go unto Paul and baptize him, the Lord declared that he would use Paul to preach unto the Gentiles and suffer for His sake. Paul then spent time with the original apostles.
Second, we know that laying on of hands was actually practiced by Christ for healing. We also know that when Simon Magus saw that the Apostles laid their hands on new converts to receive the Holy Spirit, he wanted to purchase this "power". Peter cursed him.
Third, Matthew 16, Christ said that he will bestow the keys of the kingdom of Heaven onto the disciples and that whatever they bind on earth will be bound in heaven and what they loose on earth will be loose in heaven. Keys has symbolism to power and authority. What do these keys that Christ would bestow? First, access. Second, possess of authority to act and represent Christ in all things pertaining to the Gospel. Third, keys represent insight - thus, revelation. Since the context is that Peter received by divine and direct revelation as to who Christ is. Thus, the Apostles were endowed with the keys of the Kingdom of God which is the Priesthood power and authority that gives them access, authority, and revelation to minister with regards to the saving ordinances of the Gospel of Christ.
Now, with that said, your argument further falls apart because we know that when the Apostles were gathered, they called forth and sought prayer to determine who will fill the vacancy of the Apostolic ministry that was left vacant by Judas of Iscariot. This is in Acts 1. Yes, I agree that John was the only remaining apostles. Yes, I agree that Ignatius and others who were intimate with the original apostles were those apostles' disciples. What you are appearing to neglect is that those early Fathers also wrote epistles lamenting how the true apostles are now asleep and there have arisen false apostles and Teachers.
Second, you forgot to mention that the historical precedence of the destruction of Jerusalem occurred in 70 AD when Rome came and laid siege to the city. They destroyed the city and the Temple. This ended the Jewish Age and epoch. Guess what also happened, those who understood the teachings of Christ and the Original apostles fled Jerusalem to Pella. John was exiled to the Island of Patmos. All the other original Apostles were martyred prior to the destruction of Jerusalem. There was no longer any true apostolic authority to minister, preach, and counter the rising false and heretical teachings that had already begun to infiltrate the Church. You had the Judaizers and then the Gentiles bringing in their pagan beliefs and forms of worship. Paul is clear on contending against the many various false teachings being brought in by Pagan and Greek influences.
So, your argument is false and does not fit with historical or Biblical Narrative. Plus, you have to prove that John actually did call forth other Apostles to fill the vacancy of those who have already fell asleep.
Moving forward, Latter-day Saints do not say that the early Christian church was destroyed. That is being intellectually dishonest. Second, you are engaged in false dilemma regarding the Apostasy that is historically accurate.

You seem to be in direct disagreement with the LDS Church. You must have missed the part where I show this screenshot directly from the LDS Church website:
"We now live in a time when the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. But unlike the Church in times past, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will not be overcome by general apostasy. The scriptures teach that the Church will never AGAIN BE DESTROYED."

Yet, this change of perspective and acceptance of the true gospel has led many into a much better quality of life, both spiritually and psychologically. Not sure how that would be classified as "horrible."
