Its possibly my favourite track of all time lol. They dont play it live often though. Mikael said in one show it was one of the toughest tracks to play that they've written.
These guys have been around for a long time. I just found them a couple years ago and had to buy all the albums. My point is I think we only hear this when our soul is ready.
Mikael was asked about his attitude towards the occult, satanism and whatever. He seemingly refused to believe that people take that kind of thing seriously. While some might, it's mostly just a trope, tradition or motif in some genres imo. As a majority of his compatriots, he is probably irreligious.
You're in for a real treat with Still Life! Such an amazing album, as you said this is only the first song and there's so many gems on the album! 🤣 Merry Christmas dude, hope you had a great one 😁🏴
Oh man, i just love this song :D. The intro gives me chills everytime. If you're going to listen to the entire album you're in for a ride. The moment you closed your eyes and let the music sink in, that's exactly what artists hope will happen to any listener.
Second song Godhead's Lament is one of my favorites as well! This whole album is amazing! Then you have Watershed and Blackwater Park to do as well and ooooh boy you're in for a ride!
This is a concept album and I still want you to get into the lyrics before you get further to get the idea of a guy who gets exhiled and comes back for a woman after 15 years and he doesn't even get to have her. He fucking demolishes the village he left. She is called Melinda and she is mentioned in this song: "There is no forgiveness in these eyes for any of you but one. Dispel the mist for now -- Melinda is the reason why I've come." Fun fact: The composer and lead singer named his daughter Melinda, too.

'The Moor' is one of Opeth's greatest songs. ;)
An amazing song!

Agree 💯
REAL, I listened to them a long time ago and didn't vibe. However, I thought why not give them another chance? Now I'm fucking addicted
@@adhambarakat8688 wild how things change. Enjoy the ride.

Very interesting, I get a feeling of more a programmatic influence rather than religious from Opeth. We are going to keep reacting to them!

Fredrik is probably the most underrated guitarist ever! Opeth wouldn’t be what it is without him.
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥
I'm loving your Opeth reactions.
Yes please, one song after the next of the whole album.
That is my Idea!

Thank you, I am going to considerate that before I react to the next song!!
There's a guy named Dan Fuhri who does a fantastic version of this on piano
