    i'm definitely going to have to go through this video several times nice and slowly, however, this is excellent. I am totally blind and have been since birth. I appreciate you not just doing the hand movements, but verbally describing exactly what you are doing. obviously, visual aids do me no good. having you verbally describe what we are about to do, and then you actually demonstrate it is wonderful. please keep up that method of technique. It is extremely invaluably helpful!

    I have been playing in a band for almost a year playing simple chords and some basic melody techniques, but all these tutorial videos are so easy to understand and have taken my piano skills to the next level!
    I've watched other piano videos but none have had such an impact on my piano skills as these ones. I'm now able to write my own music and improvise on existing melodies using arpeggio's and playing around with chord inversions.
    You are an excellent teacher!

    I think arpeggios are most powerful exercise for left hand. Arpeggios improve left hand speed, understanding of chords, and is great accompaniment....
    Please make more videos on arpeggios, simple patterns to advanced patterns including popular ones.

      @@PianoteOfficial Actually, what I had in mind is literally the reverse of that video. I can Chords to songs online fairly easily but if I'd want to improvise a melody I wouldn't know where to start. A video on creating melodies is something I feel like I really need

    • @ddkay6478
      @ddkay6478 5 лет назад +11

      @@_JACK. If you want to improvise melodies, just take a tonalité (I'm Belgian so I don't know how to say it in English...lol) for example C Major then you will know the Chords... there are 7 for C Major which are the same for A minor so you can use two "tonalité" in one melodies/song ( the principe of relative scale). Then just use a chord progression like in this video I - VI - IV - V then use the notes of the "tonalité" (Key ?..Tonality?..). Training will be your best friends because it's impossible to be good at improvising if you don't know pratice enough! Hope that helps...

    Every now and again on the journey of life..one has certain "aha" moments...this lesson was one of those for me re left hand arpeggios! Lisa, I just want to say that you are an amazing teacher. Your left hand exercises are simple but very, very helpful. The importance of left hand proficiency cannot be stressed enough. In my opinion a strong left hand is what makes someone sound like a real professional, even though the right hand may be doing something very simple.

    Great job, Thanks, Lisa!
    Using left-hand arpeggios back and forth in this slow, meaningful manner is a great steppingstone to also learning stride or boogie woogie piano. If you arpegiate with your right hand also, that is a fun way to get both hands used to completely work independently.

    *QUESTION!*
    When doing the spa Arpeggio. If you were using black keys as well; lets say song is in f minor. So the sequence is F-C-F-G-Ab. Would you play that Ab with your thumb like you demonstrated in the video with the all white key chords or would you bring over your middle finger? Both ways feel a little unnatural.
