'it's a protest that people are not allowed to dance legally after 3am' 'Well who gives a toss!' Basically anyone who wanted their night out to be more than 8 pints of Hofmeister, a dance around the handbag at Ritzy's until the 12.30 curfew and a punch up at the taxi queue. TCH was arrogant and a profiteer, but ultimately what he did helped create a revolutionary change in music and nightlife culture that put the UK at the forefront.
Hi, Thank you for sharing the video. I am a big fan of Basia-a singer and I’m looking for The Last resort episode from 16.10.1987. Basia was a guest in it. By any chance, do you have it? Thank you very much for your help.
Who is that journalist trying to convince he was being condescending all interview telling him what to wear and then calling him stupid he deserved that
Tony was only 22 and pretty arrogant as most hugely successful 22 year olds are. He was brought on this show to be destroyed - if you watch the whole show, rather than this edited clip, Ross kicks it off by saying something like "whats so special about kids throwing their arms about in a field" 22 years old against the whole British establishment TCH pulled off Longwick. Nothings ever come close to that. His downfall was that he thought he could manipulate the media.
@@damianb2374 what does that mean alt right? Tony had no interest in politics. The press were in full yuppie excitement at the time. The fact he was young and had a mobile phone got him that handle. He was known to be fair in all his dealings with djs
@@damianb2374 Tony loved the music and wanted to put on parties. It’s that simple and the organisation around his events was quality. Everyone got paid. Of course he made money why the hell not - he deserved it.
Didnt I see a clip of Ross havin it large in Ibizia a few years back...... he finally got on the bandwagon then after sneering at ravers on this show - unfortunately Ross not cutting edge and far too late! Tony Colston-Hayter was a true pioneer and he brought rave culture to the masses. Ross and Morley are the ones looking stupid here

I wasn't there but I would say it was the ravers themselves that changed UK nightlife and not this Thatcherite child.
