The ghost gun thing is surprisingly true. I have a military friend who's job is to QC and test firearms that the government is about to buy. I'm from Asia btw. I told him a story about my dad leaving me a .22 Walther CCW before he left. I asked him for advice on how to register the gun so that I can carry it and legalize it. His reaction and response confused me and is hilarious. "Bring it to me and let me fix it up for you. Also, what do you mean register? Why'd you want that? Just throw it in your bag and carry it around".

There are A LOT of unregistered guns floating around rural France! Stens, hunting shotguns, bolt-action rifles of several origins, as well as guns brought home from military service (back when it was compulsory). These all generally end up in the hands of people who know what they are and respect them for it. But then you get to the suburbs of big cities and suddenly, you're finding AKs and home made pipe guns or Khyber pass specials that have been smuggled into the country for all the wrong reasons which end up in all the wrong hands!!! Which goes to show, in my humble opinion, that you don't stop gun violence with laws and restrictions (France loves it's restrictions). You stop gun violence with education and by giving people a way to live their lives without having to go down the darker paths of drug trafficking and theft.
Should see the Balkans. Pretty much every house from which somebody served in war (1991 - 1995) has maybe 1 or 2 registered and probably 4 - 5 unregistered hidden somewhere + bunch of explosives and weapons that are easily available and can be found in the woods + bunch of leftover ammo.

The VHS-2 is a cool rifle. I ain't biased towards or against bullpups. They have their advantages and disadvantages. It's pretty good in terms of ambidexterity, and you can see inside the chamber. Granted, unlike the MDR, you do have to disassemble it to change it's ejection side, but it kicks the brass forwards away from your face.

They're going to entice manufacturers to spend a lot of money and time doing R&D and then they're going to say none of the submissions warrant adoption and they're just going to keep all the guns and calibers they already have. The Spear is going to end up as a criminally overpriced toy for the richer portion of civilian market. At $8k or whatever they're going to eventually end up going for and the 100% proprietary .277 fury round only available from Sig for the price of $4+ per round...have fun with that.

The Hellion is literally a semi-auto version of the VHS-2 that came very close to being the replacement for the FAMAS, losing out to the HK 416 in trials. It's actually a fairly good gun from the looks of it, it's far more accurate than a Tavor, cheaper than an MDR, and doesn't feed left-handed shooters brass all the time.
The Springfield Hellion is an imported HS Produkt VHS-2. It has seen action in both Syria and Iraq. To import, Springfield had to make a few changes, such as slight changes in furniture. It’s pretty much a semiauto version of a Croatian military rifle.

I imagine the Spear is 8 grand just because they want to make back the money they spent on the NGSW trials after the Army inevitably decides not to replace the M4 for the 500th time in a row. That and it takes proprietary ammo.

If you haven’t been paying attention, the MCX Spear is one of the contenders to replace the M4 as the US standard rifle. It is chambered in a steel/brass hybrid 6.8mm round. I think this has three benefits. One, if SiG loses the NGSW program, they can sell the Spear as a civilian rifle(although the price will make it a tough sell), and secondly, they can get production up and running already, making it more attractive to the US government since the gun is already in production. Thirdly, it will mean that the consumers will be the Guinea pigs to work out teething issues that come with most new technologies, meaning that by the time the Government wraps up the NSGW trials and selects a final winner, SIG will likely already have an in production, mature platform to work with.
The chances of that replacing the m4 are ABSOLUTELY ZERO....especially since they cant even keep the quality up, the 320 controversy that went on, and the fact that its gonna be 5-6x as much as an updated m4.
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 1. government contracts tend to make price irrelevant. and price will go down as manufacturing improves 2. the quality issues will improve with time and increased production as they usually do 3. it made it to the final 3 for the NGSW program and is the only one not using some kind of caseless or plastic ammo. so something tells me it has a good chance of being adopted unless the government decides it is ok with the m4 after all.
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 The objective is not to replace the M4. The objective is to replace the 5.56mm cartridge and it has an awful lot of weight behind the reasoning. The brass knows that it's time to retire the cartridge. SIG's submission has a cartridge, a rifle, and an optic all in one well thought out package, plus they are already in the door with the M17 contract among a lot of very specific details such as the familiar M4 clone platform. I think General Dynamics has a great submission in terms of innovation and an effort to think outside the box, but I think we all know this contract will go to SIG.
LMFAO like sig is going to roll out the next big USGI swiping change. it's not like they have a history of manufacturing issues at rollout. I mean, P320, P229 Legion, P365, MCX, MPX, M400 were all flukes. I mean ok but they were roll out on time to meet the deadline it's not like they could debug it before the roll out date... each one rolls out almost two years behind schedule. Not like Sig has a history of gagging vendors and them blaming the rollout problem on the distribution when your factory isn't actually shipping any. I mean their marketing and customer service will communicate something like that to their customer base. *shifty eyes over to the p365* Sig should be happy they have the P320 contact because that is the only thing kept them from going under until they crap all over that. Sig fan boy can go suck start a 45, hope it's an old production otherwise you'll wait a year for the replacement trigger bar you broke before you can actually do it.

I'm excited for the hellion, simply because I never thought I'd see the VHS-2 in the US. It's a legitimately interesting rifle, and it came in second in french testing behind the 416 (no surprise, the 416 is an amazing rifle), so it can't be but so bad.
Brandon should try out the Lynx. It's a bullpup, it is a 50 cal, it is heavy duty shit, hard to load, works like a cannon, and made in a country that still uses AK variants.

Well your idea falls flat on its back moment there is SIG booth and MCX in there.. Doll 100lb and around max 4K$ while MCX is just 8.4lb and 8 fucking K$, sure there is 3 dolls, but i dont think you will be running as fast with 300lb extra weight compared to couple battle rifles

ok to be 100 percent clear im not in favor of banning guns at all, in fact I believe that full autos, grenades and rpgs should be legal to own without signing your soul to the ATF because those are technically considered arms under the constitution and the fact they are so highly regulated by a government entity is technically an infringement on our constitutional rights. The main reason why they banned full autos is simply bc the government didn't want to get outgunned by civilians, it wasn't bc of crime, the government doesn't care about crime, i mean look at all the inner cities lmao, plus even after the ban on full autos was placed it did literally nothing, it didnt save lives nor decrease crime bc simply banning one type of functionality of a firearm isn't going to do jack shit to stop anyone from murdering and robbing people. Now with that being said the reason why the taliban was so hard to kill is because of their very harsh climate and terrain and the fact that the us soldiers don't know the land as well as the taliban does. Another thing I wanna point out is that the the taliban had machine guns, rpgs, and explosive devices which in a war helps out majorly especially if u wanna outgun, flank or force your opponents to take cover while simultaneously changing positions. The best weapons that civilians have are semiautomatic ar 15s and I'm not including that very tiny percentage of people that have class 3 ffl or went through some loophole to somehow own a machine gun because for the most part full autos are very out of reach for the average civilian and any explosive devices are even more out of reach. So with that being said an ar 15 is basically the best weapon we've got and we're barely trying to keep the right to own those lol. Now my main point to all of this is if the government did decide to turn on us do you honestly believe that we would stand a chance with our ar 15s?

They were untrained, using shit weapons and improvised explosives(which could easily be replicated in this hypothetical scenario). Also, you think every soldier knows the entire US like the locals do? fat chance on that. Evidence B: January 6th, 2021. no guns, almost overthrew government according to media. Evidence C: general military political stance. Most are libertarian/right leaning. Evidence D: the fact that militaries across the world use semi automatic weapons as well as full auto. In fact, the FAL was almost exclusively used in semi auto for military service because full auto was nearly uncontrollable, and full auto is only truly useful with hits on target. Evidence E: American civilian gun owner population vs Armed forces count. They have thousands, we have millions. Evidence F: Civilian ownership of body armor. This would carry us a long way.
@@mutilator97 yeah but most of the us population is filled with pussies tho, I'm just being real, realistically speaking we would need the help of our military to fight against the government, and full auto is used all the time in war the m60 machine gun and m249 saw are specifically designated for the sole purpose of firing at full auto and they do an extremely good job at forcing the enemy to take cover and hide while the rest of the group changes position to flank the enemy and get them pinched in, and unfortunately you can't do that with semiautomatic weapons because they don't have superior firepower, and body armour doesn't make you invincible, bc it doesn't protect your femoral artery, collar bone, and most importantly your head and plus even if your wearing level 4 body armour if there is enough backface defamation it could still break your sternum and your ribs and you won't get back up from that shit. There are A LOT of unregistered guns floating around rural France! Stens, hunting shotguns, bolt-action rifles of several origins, as well as guns brought home from military service (back when it was compulsory).
These all generally end up in the hands of people who know what they are and respect them for it. But then you get to the suburbs of big cities and suddenly, you're finding AKs and home made pipe guns or Khyber pass specials that have been smuggled into the country for all the wrong reasons which end up in all the wrong hands!!!
Which goes to show, in my humble opinion, that you don't stop gun violence with laws and restrictions (France loves it's restrictions). You stop gun violence with education and by giving people a way to live their lives without having to go down the darker paths of drug trafficking and theft.
Should see the Balkans. Pretty much every house from which somebody served in war (1991 - 1995) has maybe 1 or 2 registered and probably 4 - 5 unregistered hidden somewhere + bunch of explosives and weapons that are easily available and can be found in the woods + bunch of leftover ammo.

The VHS-2 is a cool rifle. I ain't biased towards or against bullpups. They have their advantages and disadvantages. It's pretty good in terms of ambidexterity, and you can see inside the chamber. Granted, unlike the MDR, you do have to disassemble it to change it's ejection side, but it kicks the brass forwards away from your face.

Desmond Doss was a combat medic that received a Congressional Metal Of Honor for rescuing more than 75 men during the battle of Hacksaw Ridge. During the battle with zero regard for his own safety he continued to save lives even after being wounded on three separate occasions.

The Spear is going to end up as a criminally overpriced toy for the richer portion of civilian market.
At $8k or whatever they're going to eventually end up going for and the 100% proprietary .277 fury round only available from Sig for the price of $4+ per round...have fun with that.

The Hellion is literally a semi-auto version of the VHS-2 that came very close to being the replacement for the FAMAS, losing out to the HK 416 in trials. It's actually a fairly good gun from the looks of it, it's far more accurate than a Tavor, cheaper than an MDR, and doesn't feed left-handed shooters brass all the time.

I imagine the Spear is 8 grand just because they want to make back the money they spent on the NGSW trials after the Army inevitably decides not to replace the M4 for the 500th time in a row. That and it takes proprietary ammo.

If you haven’t been paying attention, the MCX Spear is one of the contenders to replace the M4 as the US standard rifle. It is chambered in a steel/brass hybrid 6.8mm round. I think this has three benefits. One, if SiG loses the NGSW program, they can sell the Spear as a civilian rifle(although the price will make it a tough sell), and secondly, they can get production up and running already, making it more attractive to the US government since the gun is already in production. Thirdly, it will mean that the consumers will be the Guinea pigs to work out teething issues that come with most new technologies, meaning that by the time the Government wraps up the NSGW trials and selects a final winner, SIG will likely already have an in production, mature platform to work with.
The chances of that replacing the m4 are ABSOLUTELY ZERO....especially since they cant even keep the quality up, the 320 controversy that went on, and the fact that its gonna be 5-6x as much as an updated m4.

2. the quality issues will improve with time and increased production as they usually do
3. it made it to the final 3 for the NGSW program and is the only one not using some kind of caseless or plastic ammo. so something tells me it has a good chance of being adopted unless the government decides it is ok with the m4 after all.
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 The objective is not to replace the M4. The objective is to replace the 5.56mm cartridge and it has an awful lot of weight behind the reasoning. The brass knows that it's time to retire the cartridge. SIG's submission has a cartridge, a rifle, and an optic all in one well thought out package, plus they are already in the door with the M17 contract among a lot of very specific details such as the familiar M4 clone platform. I think General Dynamics has a great submission in terms of innovation and an effort to think outside the box, but I think we all know this contract will go to SIG.

I'm excited for the hellion, simply because I never thought I'd see the VHS-2 in the US. It's a legitimately interesting rifle, and it came in second in french testing behind the 416 (no surprise, the 416 is an amazing rifle), so it can't be but so bad.

ok to be 100 percent clear im not in favor of banning guns at all, in fact I believe that full autos, grenades and rpgs should be legal to own without signing your soul to the ATF because those are technically considered arms under the constitution and the fact they are so highly regulated by a government entity is technically an infringement on our constitutional rights. The main reason why they banned full autos is simply bc the government didn't want to get outgunned by civilians, it wasn't bc of crime, the government doesn't care about crime, i mean look at all the inner cities lmao, plus even after the ban on full autos was placed it did literally nothing, it didnt save lives nor decrease crime bc simply banning one type of functionality of a firearm isn't going to do jack shit to stop anyone from murdering and robbing people. Now with that being said the reason why the taliban was so hard to kill is because of their very harsh climate and terrain and the fact that the us soldiers don't know the land as well as the taliban does. Another thing I wanna point out is that the the taliban had machine guns, rpgs, and explosive devices which in a war helps out majorly especially if u wanna outgun, flank or force your opponents to take cover while simultaneously changing positions. The best weapons that civilians have are semiautomatic ar 15s and I'm not including that very tiny percentage of people that have class 3 ffl or went through some loophole to somehow own a machine gun because for the most part full autos are very out of reach for the average civilian and any explosive devices are even more out of reach. So with that being said an ar 15 is basically the best weapon we've got and we're barely trying to keep the right to own those lol. ok to be 100 percent clear im not in favor of banning guns at all, in fact I believe that full autos, grenades and rpgs should be legal to own without signing your soul to the ATF because those are technically considered arms under the constitution and the fact they are so highly regulated by a government entity is technically an infringement on our constitutional rights. The main reason why they banned full autos is simply bc the government didn't want to get outgunned by civilians, it wasn't bc of crime, the government doesn't care about crime, i mean look at all the inner cities lmao, plus even after the ban on full autos was placed it did literally nothing, it didnt save lives nor decrease crime bc simply banning one type of functionality of a firearm isn't going to do jack shit to stop anyone from murdering and robbing people. Now with that being said the reason why the taliban and veitnamese where so hard to kill is because of their very harsh climate and terrain and the fact that the us soldiers don't know the land as well as they did. Another thing I wanna point out is that both the veitnamese and the taliban had machine guns, rpgs, and explosive devices which in a war helps out majorly especially if u wanna outgun, flank or force your opponents to take cover while simultaneously changing positions. The best weapons that civilians have are semiautomatic ar 15s and I'm not including that very tiny percentage of people that have class 3 ffl or went through some loophole to somehow own a machine gun because for the most part full autos are very out of reach for the average civilian and any explosive devices are even more out of reach. So with that being said an ar 15 is basically the best weapon we've got and we're barely trying to keep the right to own those lol. Now my main point to all of this is if the government did decide to turn on us do you honestly believe that we would stand a chance with our ar 15s?
