The reason for the stop was there was no license plate number on display. This was a new vehicle and there was a paper tag in the rear window. It was difficult to see due to tinted windows in the dark. However, once under the bright lights of the gas station the tag was clearly visible. These officers escalated this stop way beyond the scope of the stop once it had been established there was a tag. I hope he wins millions!!!!
To be clear.. This traffic stop may have been "lawful" (according the defense attorney), but spraying a seemingly defenseless person in the face with pepper spray while his hands are up in the air is NOT lawful. Duh? Even an idiot should be able to understand that much, but then, that's the type of people you're dealing with here.
1: End Qualified Immunity and 2: Require Police Officers to have Professional Liability insurance tied directly to them as an individual, not in a municipal or Union/Gang pool (Like all of us other "Professionals" are Required to have) Bad cops would soon find themselves uninsurable and out of a Job.
it should be called Qualified Stupidity, they stopped him for no tags while they never even checked if the car would have a temporary registration sticker in the windows, visible on the dash cam video
If I was a cop. I would be embarrassed on what n how they treated a military member. So wrong! I’ve watched this whole thing. Cops could have handle this better. Embarrassing.
So assault and excessive force is not a state crime. I don't understand how qualified immunity is applied. Qualified immunity should only apply to errors in law.
Why isn't this soldier's base commander speaking out about the way that one of his men was treated?
They are the biggest criminals in our streets
This is the biggest flaw of the fired officer- ego that leads to abuse of power. Glad he was fired.
And they wonder why people hate them
So much for ' thank you for your service '.

those cops belong in prison
These thugs had no respect for the military uniform
Joke. Both cops should've been fired

All that over a tag?! Wow!
The cops will lose this case 110%

U.S law is a joke
Qualified Immunity is the crux of the issue. Cut that off and you want how officers start acting in these situations.

Qaulified immunity? Ha! ! Two words:
That was ridiculous. I believe a jury will think so also. Good Luck winning this sir. And thank you for your service! 💕
