Good match! Jayson had many foot faults, though. He was often standing so close to the middle mark that he stepped on the forbidden side of it before hitting the ball. Starting only like a foot further from the middle "line" would fix this easily.

Entertaining match, super nice fulfilling this request. Andrew played great as did Jason. Jason serving at about 7% first serves really hurt him (perceived pressure and rhythm).

Great play by both of them, the set was definitely much closer than the score says. As a lefty myself, I am a but surprised, that Jayson did not go more out wide with the serve, in the ad side (in the beginning of the set), seemed to get the points when he was doing it at the end (out wide serve in the ad court for lefties is the bread and butter :) ). Enjoyed watching you both play.

Now I completely understand that I am an armchair critic, but I saw two things Jayson should work on in his game. 1) get low on those slow balls coming in on his backhand side, he lost a few points by not bending his knee enough. 2) He should hit the ball in his toss on the way up right at the apex, the ball hangs around longer and it should fix his serving issues (currently he is hitting it on the way down, which is MUCH harder to do)

  • @marvelcafe2273

jayson just loved to powerfully hit balls basically. he was not working on points to try to win it or at least make andrew work more. extending his rally patiently and trying to make first serves in with less pace until his normal serves worked more normally that day could be an option. instead, he dwelled on his frustrating mindset more and more then lost 0-6. next time, work more with the more positive mindset. sad to see a player with good shots lost badly like that and the main problem was with the thinking. andrew is a good player as well and deserves to win with better consistency, defense and positive mindset shown in the game plans during those rallies.
