Great chinwag guys heard so many gushing reviews on VCore95 but at 65 I'm not sure I'm still cut out for it. Very encouraging words from Coach Gu on enlarged sweet spot, that's exactly why I'm going with Yonex. More sweetspot in a smaller head. Really hope you're right about revamped Yonex line sounds interesting! The biggest consistent hitting I've seen was from Kyrigos another feather in the cap of this AMAZING company. Can easily see where Coach Gu can handle this racket his consistency is exhilirating. Myself well let's hope we get lots of dry weather for practice into spring. I think the 95 is well beyond my capacity for consistency at least right now. Good video guys 👍👍
Is that what you did? I have the Head Prestige Touch Tour(damn long ass names) and it has the same SW and flex and it needed about1 1/2 grams at 12 o'clock to really get the plow through on the serve and ground stokes that I need for my game.
As someone who tests and reviews a lot of racquets as well I can attest to the “weight wave” sensation you get from the vcore 95. That’s why it’s my main as well :)
He should try a VS gut main/smooth poly of his choice in the cross and see if that helps compensate for the low-powered nature of the frame. I found that a full bed of hyper g provided incredible control (think point and shoot and VERY low trajectory), but the overall playability of the VS Gut/poly hybrid was my fave after testing a bunch of setups and string. At either 57/54 or 58/55 I still found great control but with just enough pop from the gut.
I've done just that and it does feel magic! I actually bought a grip size too big and so put on the kimony leather grip which is light. so I added lead in the handle. awesome to play with.
I switched from 100 sq inch AeroPro Drive to this Vcore 95 and I love it. The main thing is the FEEL. There is response that you are feeling. It took only a few days to get used to the heavier frame (310 + 4g at 12 + strings + overgrip). I am experimenting with strings. Really liked Tour Bite 17 at low tension. Liked Poly Plasma 1.23 at low tension. Didn't like PolyTour Pro 1.20 in it. Now comparing Tour Bite 17 vs. 16L, they are significantly different by stiffness. IMHO at 48 tension and a bit lower the power from the strings is there.

I have 2 grams at both ten and two (4 grams total) with a leather grip + overgrip. comes in at 445grams strung and around 10HL. I grew up and played forever with wilson pro staff 95 6.1 classics so I am very used to a HL frame. This vcore95 is awesome and i'm really liking this setup too but am open to suggestions.... I also tried playing with the 3rd gen pure strike but thought it had too much power and it hurt my arm as well. I really like the Tecnifibre TF40 and have a set. The feel on the tf40 is really special but I haven't been able to fully gel with the 18x20. It also has a bit too much pop for me. The vcore 95 really has it all. the 16x20 is the perfect in between. The sweet spot is very big for the size and I can really swing out and trust the racket. Serve is so sweet as well. I am looking forward to seeing an update come 2021 as well...
The sensation you described of the feel running up the racket through the stroke, isn't that simply the feel of correctly timing the ball? It's important to consider the weight/SW/balance and flex all together so that the frame flexes then straightens in time with your stroke-speed to impart the power from the flexion. It should occur with all rackets on full strokes and even serves, and if it doesn't you should slow down or speed up your stroke until it does. This is the same with all ball sports, you must find the rhythm of the racket/club/bat/cue etc. to hit effectively. Anyway, Coach Andrew should also try some Dunlop CX and Volkl 10 series rackets if he's suffering from arm issues.
Babolat Pure Strike Tour also gave me arm problems. I demoed it with a multi and that was fine but couldn't use it with a poly. So like Gu I went to an Ezone 98 and a VCORE 95. Gu mentioned he would like a little more power and I would recommend trying the SV95. It's a little stiffer and has more pop.
I went from Wilson Clash (liked the feel but no control and too much power) to Yonex Ezone 98 2018 (Loved the feel, power and control, overall great racket) and finally Yonex Vcore 95 (Amazing control racket, not for beginners not massive top spinners, great feel, soft, powerful enough) and Im sticking to the Vcore 95 forever!
@@JF7King Well, it depends on what you like and what you want from the racket. Best is to try but its hard to demo rackets depending on where you live. The ezone 98 is the perfect blend of spin control and power and would suit everybody, but if you are looking for more spin and power then the vcore 98, if you want more control and significant less power then the vcore pro 97, and if you want a bit more control than ezone but more power than vcore pro then the vcore 95 (my racket of choice) but be aware this is not a racket for everybody. If you hit with heavy top spin i would not recommend it cause its quite a small head racket so you may miss the strings a few times, this is more for a flat hitter or occasional top spin hitter but not for a heavy top spin hitter.
listened to tennis spin and got Yonex EZONE 98 tour. now I'm having the same regret as Andrew. the racquet is not really maneuverable . Hope Andrew settles on a final racquet soon so I'll just get that :).

I was using the vcore 95 up until recently (having used the vcore pro 97 310g) before and agree with everything that was said about the vcore 95 - it’s an awesome racket. However I have just switched to the Blade 98 v7 16x19 and would be interested to see what Coach Gu thinks to that after playing with it
Given his racquet history, his injuries, his need for control, I say you take a Wilson Ultra Tour and add weight it up. It's as close to a proStock as you can get. He "may" not like the 18x20. If that's the case, send him to Wilson Pro Labs and have him order the new Wilson Ultra Pro 16x19 and add weight in the head. I know you could customize his frame to his exacting specifications.

Glad to hear that the heavier and more flexible Yonex 95 VCORE racquet won out. I am not surprised though because substantial flex and weight are what make a good racquet. Tennis used to be called the sport of a lifetime but the stiff and too light frames combined with the modern stiff strings are arm breakers that are cutting short the playing days of many former lifetime players. I am going in for elbow surgery soon. I will be in a cast for at least 3 months where I will not be able to move my right elbow or wrist so that the ligaments and tendon can reattach to the bone. I have been playing for over 40 years and never had problems until graphite racquets came around. If I resume playing afterwards, I will be stringing my racquets with tensions in the 40's. It remains to be seen if I can control and spin the ball with such low tension. Previously, when I experimented with multifilament strings at a low tension, the ball trampolined off the strings rendering the racquet unplayable. So, I am not very optimistic. Take are of that elbow, Coach Andrew.
Really surprised he said the pure strike caused arm problems. What tension does he use? I know they're sensitive to tension and I string full poly anywhere from 52-57lbs.
I agree with you , I use the pure strike 100inch and it’s very user and arm friendly. I have luxilon 4g in it @54 pounds. One of the most comfortable rackets I have ever tried
I'm demoing the Gravity Tour and Volkl V8 Pro. Almost identical spec except Volkl V8 Pro is more headlight by 2 points. More feel on the Gravity Tour by comparison, but Volkl V8 Pro has a bit more power (probably due to being slightly stiffer and thicker beam at 3&9 o'clock) and more spin. I always like Volkl racket, so my slightly bias opinion is that Volkl V8 Pro fits me more. But the Gravity Tour is a good choice for people looking for more feel.
I think 64 or 65 RA is a nice place to be with the flex anything below that tends to lack power. Anything above that becomes a little too stiff and lacks feel for me. Just my opinion for what suits my game and stroke.

What is a racket you would recommend to me from the 2018 pure drive to get more feel can control? I have rpm blast 16 strung at 55lbs is there another string that can give me the feel and control or is the racket because even with my old nxt strings the racket feels too muted. I am also 14 and what I could consider myself a medium skill level so I will probably need some power. I need to change my strings soon but is that what will make the difference in control and feel or does my racket need to be completely changed out?
Also, I have tried my friends Wilson burn 95 that was an old model, and also I have tried his Wilson steam not sure what head size for the steam but it was bigger than a 95. They both felt great with feel and control so I am thinking it could be the racket.

Hey Harry, I need your expertise. I string racquets for a hard-hitting 23yr old ex D1 player. He was on rpm blast using pure aero and was popping them too regularly. I suggested he switch over to Speed MP. Loves the racquet but he is popping strings almost regularly on first use. Have tried ALU, 4G, hyper g, rpm, rpm rough etc...keeps breaking like it’s paper. Any suggestions? Is the racquet an issue? Do you run into same issue with big hitters?? I feel bad for the guy.
@@hnayini Which Pure Aero? The newest pure aero has a more open string pattern. The older Pure Aero had grommets that were too thin so strings contact the ground when digging out shots.
Strike is stiffer than a crowbar. I like my 6.1 or Graf 7.5 pro staff for control and comfort on the arm and shoulder. I had the RD10 yonnex in the 1980s but it was not head light enough for me. I would like to try the v core 95. Generally, the yonnex frame thickness is a bit undesirable and the string bed length is gives more power than control. In the old days of 80's or 90's yonnex had a blue colored spin racquet with a Hoop head between 95 and 98 sq. Inches. Yonnex should make a spin version of the vcore 95. That would be exciting! The ezone 100 plays like a light pro staff with a slightly more open pattern.

The balance is already plenty head-light, why add 10g extra to the handle? Just add weight to the head.

Vcore 95, my rack at the moment. Little lead at 10 & 2 and some extra weight in the handle as well. Rock solid at 346 grams.
What did you use for handle weight?

I've made the same journey a few years back, shifting from Pure Strike to Ezone and VCore 98. I never looked back. Yonex makes the best rackets.

You should try the Head GRAVITY PRO. Has a nice mass, and awesome feeling and flex. The 18x20 pattern really balance the 100sq/i headsize.

Yonex isometric technology or whatever is called is no joke, you do feel the raquet sweetspot is massive, thats why they say it doesnt play like a 95

I brought him down from 54lb to 52lb. Maybe we need to go lower but he’s been playing at 54 all through his career.

I think he confusing the definition of what flex means. flex means racket bents on contact and not hard on arms albeit slight less control.
More flex means more control because the ball sits on the strings longer as the racquet flexes.

Strike is stiffer than a crowbar. I like my 6.1 or Graf 7.5 pro staff for control and comfort on the arm and shoulder. I had the RD10 yonnex in the 1980s but it was not head light enough for me. I would like to try the v core 95. Generally, the yonnex frame thickness is a bit undesirable and the string bed length is gives more power than control. In the old days of 80's or 90's yonnex had a blue colored spin racquet with a Hoop head between 95 and 98 sq. Inches.
Yonnex should make a spin version of the vcore 95. That would be exciting!
