      I think some of these “newer” designs and tweaks are worse from models today. I loved the tecnifbre xtc 305 tfight and they went a little too “rich” on the next top models

      If anything it’s probably balance. To me : I like proper balance and a more dense string pattern. Most rackets are overrated. Find one that fits stock weight, string pattern and balance. Go from there.

      Harry owns a shop so he's not paying retail for any racquet he carries in his shop. So I don't think sponsorship would have anything to do with his choice.

      @@thehiddenfamily True. Though he has commented many times about his love for his old Vcore, so he is probably ok with the Yonex pallet. But the ezone can feel pretty stiff, and he has commented that he likes a bit of flex.

    • @davelee6002
      @davelee6002 9 месяцев назад

      @@thehiddenfamilythat is me. I want the ezone to work so badly. I think the mould is unique and pretty cool, and the playing characteristics are nice. But the pallet shape is messing up my ability to swing through the ball, and the balance of the racquet isn't feeling right on the back swings.

    Regarding the complaints about the big racquet companies: I thought that a lot of ATP players play stock these days with some customization that isn't that difficult to do. And there are a ton of racquets out there for sale with a huge variety of characteristics. I wouldn't think that it was that hard to find what you're looking for if you're will to experiment with silicone and lead tape. I got the feeling that you were looking for stability, feel, some power on demand, and spin in a players frame and I have to think that you can find that in Babolat, Head, Wilson, Prince or Dunlop. And there's always the Rafa Origin if you need a little extra weight.

    • @othgmark1
      @othgmark1 Год назад +1

      I respectfully disagree that everyone makes a racquet you can like. The last time l tried out demos l tried 22 different frames. I played head racquets for a long time but couldn't find anything l liked. The two racquets that were close were the pure strike 16 × 19 and the technifibre t fight 315 but when everything was said and done l went to a volkl v1 pro. Did not find a yonex or a Wilson that felt right to me.

    • @topspin4hand
      @topspin4hand Год назад +2

      For me, finding the right places on a racquet to lead up is too time consuming and I’m of the opinion that lead tape doesn’t quite replace sheer mass in a racquet. Also, some racquets are probably also better for modifying than others. Always gelled well with Prestige Pros. I could take a racquet and try and make it the same in most ways but something will always be a bit different…

    • @movdqa
      @movdqa Год назад

      @@topspin4hand The standard approach for pro stocks is a very light hairpin, silicone in the handle and lead in the hoop. I have 3 sets of pro stocks made this way: IG Prestige MP, 13.25 ounces, 386 swingweight is the set that I've used for 13 years. They are solid racquets. You can make all kinds of different racquets with lead tape and radically change the playing characteristics. But it is time-consuming figuring out exactly what you want. The key, though, is to start out with a light frame which gives you the flexibility to add lead and frames to start with are called platform frames for the most flexibility.

    • @topspin4hand
      @topspin4hand Год назад +1

      @@movdqa Thanks for explaining where you're coming from. I've done some mods but just once or twice. I often see people saying that certain racquets are unstable or too light, but that they're good sticks to modify to your own specs. I didn't know who to believe--should I buy a racquet that's good without lead or one that's a great platform stick...
      Perhaps I'll give some of these great platform frames more consideration.

    • @movdqa
      @movdqa Год назад

      @@topspin4hand This topic is regularly discussed on the Tennis Warehouse forums. Most retail racquets by the big companies have tolerances to plus or minus 10 grams and you may be able to ask for lighter frames where you shop so that you can modify it higher. There is a good video put out by Dunlop on racquet customizing that I saw today - it goes over why you'd do it and where to put it depending on what you're looking for. For the vast majority, though, it's too much of a bother. But I find that I can buy a light frame that I think I will like and then customize it to my standard specs.
