I bought the key fob programmer and an extra key for a 2012 Dodge Ram. Programming was very easy. I would recommending that you have them cut the key as I am having a very hard time finding someone that can cut the key that goes into the fob.

All I did was take the key fob apart and took the programmer out of the old key fob and inserted the programmer into the new key fob. Also, bought a brand new key fob from Amazon for less than $10.

I ordered the connector but wanted the oem key with the insignia on it so I ordered one off eBay and it came and is brand new internals and everything matches my key but I can’t get that blue light to come on, I put the battery in my current fob and it worked so I’m just not sure where to go from here aside from just putting my motherboard and everything inside the new housing which sucks cause then I feel I wasted the money on the connector

Concerning the emergency key. 2014 Dodge Journey, push button start. Are you able to start the car with that key? Or just open the door. If you can start the car, I have not figured out how/where to expose where to insert it. Thank you.
Your owner manual will show you how to use your fob to start the car if the fib battery is dead. Usually it's holding it up to the start button is putting into a special pocket under a cup holder or in the center console that has a sensor to read the key when it's next to it. The emergency key blade will typically just unlock the door to get you in the car

Hi Joe, you need one working key to make a spare. You need a new programmer for each vehicle. The programmer reads the VIN number and becomes locked to the first vehicle it makes a key for. You can make up to 4 keys for the same vehicle with it.

Any idea what it cost to have a new fob made? $500 for the computer to make one key is a bit much for me. I bought a used charger and it only came with one key. The dealer won’t make a second and says they charge too much he doesn’t recommend it. I didn’t think of it before I put the down payment on it. I have a 2018 charger key and the new charger is a 2021.

I received the 5-button kit. Original fob is 3-button. You mention @0:36 that it doesn't hurt to try the 5-buttons and the trunk should work. However, in the manual you are holding and the one I have in the kit, there is no code listed under "5 button" for the Dodge Journey. So are you saying that using the same 3-button code in the manual (111) that if I have a 5-button fob... the trunk should work ... OR is there another code I need for the 5-button fob that just isn't listed in the manual (e.g. 114 like the Charger shows) ??

The programmed key fob can only start the car manually by removing the start/stop button and under it is the turn-key ignition. No, sorry. To prevent theft you must have one working key. Get one from a dealership or locksmith. If they want to charge too much for the spare, then use our kit to make that.
Looks like my mouth was moving and brain not thinking. I should have said Lock and Panic. The instruction manual will have that information. Some Toyota vehicle fobs use a sequence pushing Lock and Unlock at the same time. Car manufacturers keep the keys/fobs confusing!

The blue light is only for the special aftermarket key. An OEM key doesn't need the light as long as it's the right key for the vehicle
