- Explosive Chen Tai Chi Move! Sometimes Fa Jing or Fa Ching, the explosive striking abilities in Chen Tai Chi are very intense on your body and if applied toward an opponent! Many forms of athletics and sport use this power such as a baseball swing, golf swing, boxing punch, 100mph fastball, slap shot, or explosive move to the quarterback for a sack. But, the Chinese gave it a name: Tai Chi Chuan Fa Ching (Tai Ji Quan Fa Jing)! Try it with me here! What a workout!!!

Chen style tai chi has specific body mechanics training that's central to the style; this guy's movement shows that he hasn't done any of that. It's not nitpicking to call this fake Chen tai chi.
Those strikes look like just the arm moving. Contrast that with the fajin of one of the acknowledged Chen style leaders, like CXW.
Yeah, I believe Jace should name his teachers so that we all can know what lineage he has learnt from. It isn't a derogatory nor a rhetoric question. It is in fact a common thing within martial arts communities to ask a person about the lineages of their styles.
Thanks!
almost agree, now look at his feet.. he jumps a little bit while striking and changes sides... it is very hard to control dantian when you doing that.. you have to be rooted to the earth in this particular one and only hip joints supposed to be rotating, except for some other technics of jumps in fajin..
Sorry, but that is not tai chi. That is just striking with flourishes.
If anyone wants to see REAL Chen Style Tai Chi Check out Chen Xiaowang Explosive Demo From 2003. This is the REAL stuff. Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang is a true master of Taiji.
Eric Gregg Chen Tai Chi is Chen Xiaowang's family Martial arts. His grand, grand grand..... father invented the Chen Tai Chi. the first master of Yang Tai Chi learnt Tai Chi from Chen Xiaowang's grandfather. Chen Xiaowang, Wang Xi'an, Chen Zhenglei, Zhu Xiaocai, they are the four greatest grandmaser of Chen Tai Chi. Chen Xiaowang, Wang Xi'an , they are chinese national treasure level grandmasters. the son of Wang Xi'an , Wang Zhanjun, he is also very great.
+Eric Gregg there are so much more secret behind to perform explosive fist and move. i hope master chen xiao wang will teach in youtube.
Wiki Chua you need personal training to develop those skills. Not watching it on RUclips.
Eric Gregg I have my personal sifu to train me on the secret skill. NO worry about it. :)
Funny - When I heard the opening sound effects, I thought my wife's pug was having a coughing fit. Then I saw the pug in the video .....
by the way....practicing fajin in a wrong way can affect your health in a bad way also...the way you are doing it is very wrong....its not only slow and fast movements its a way deep philosophy than you can imagine...its time for you to go for theory Mr. Mace.
I go to China all the time and the Chinese people love it and are excited we train in their culture, art, and history!
I agree, in Chen style Tai Chi, his leg position are wrong, and the way of practice Tai Chi wrong. PS: I am also a nice person.
If I forgot everything else I would still remember Chen Tai Chi. This is such an amazing routine for health, fitness, and relaxation!
Ok, he can blow out all his birthday candles but could not break through a paper bag. There is nothing here that even remotely resembles Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan - in fluidity, solidity, or power. Very very saaaaaaaaad.
Watch those students and noticed how round the legs are. This is how I practice. I try to practice smaller circles with silk reeling around legs like that still using Dan Tien principles and Yin/Yang form. Qi flows really well with round legs like that.

Sargent Stradenko (aka. CXW). You have had a few posts now to share your opinion but we are now blocking you and deleting any more of your comments in the future because you have become repeatedly threatening, condescending, and rude to our other viewers! Hope you keep watching and enjoying our videos in the future! Peace be with you!
There are 7 benefits:
1. Physical Conditioning
2. Bone Strength
3. Mental Aptitude
4. Breathing, Oxygen, and Meditation
5. Balance
6. Organ Health
7. Fighting and Self Defense (Fighting only in defense of the first 6, if they are ever threatened)
Whats with the sound effects?
We got a lot of videos planned and being edited right now. We will coming up! Thanks!
i know wht u talkin abt.. i grew up in USSR and in my youth (early 80s) any kind of mart.arts was prohibited we were learning by books and movies only..it last like for 5-7years then time has changed. i've never said a bad word abt Jake's intentions.. he has passion for what he does. i never teach either. can only make a few remarks on what i know personally. but you would agree with me if i say that its very important to preserve authentic way of things we have these days, time goes by and we
I love Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Qigong, and all Martial Arts! I have pride in my Kung Fu and myself. I also have pride in my students and the Kung Fu/Tai Chi I teach them! All my best to you!
Practicing anything in a wrong way is not good! But, sitting around on your butt inactive and growing old and fat is worse! The Fa Jing drill in this video is very challenging (if you do over 30 strikes) and great for health and martial power!
I am very open about who I learned from. My students all know. It's all over the internet and I have commented about it in many other videos!
couldn't agree more! fajin is always challenging, but it has to be done correctly first of all. than you can call it fajin. otherwise its some "physical exercise" which is good just like any other modern gymnastics and of coz is very good for the health. I'm practicing wushu for 15 years now and taijichuan Chen style for 5 years. I've seen a lot and had never seen anything in Chenshi that you do.
you're right, although it seems they do know some abt martial arts (mostly popular taolu), but their knowledges are good enough only for beginners, the person who has a lot of devotion to martial arts and have enough smarts to get that this way is leading nowhere and he got everything he could ever get from this master must to continue his way further on, he must enhance his view abt martial arts, try to see the difference, look for authentic, original, it takes years
Yes it is!
I know! He was so cute. Like one big muscle!
Thank you! You the Man!
Thanks Man!
New Tai Chi Combat video just uploaded to our Channel!!!
Mr. Mace that was a sarcasm question about the obvious answer, which is none, meaning that its useless to ask any questions.
I agree!
ok. would you do us a favor and show a video of yourself doing chenshi laojia ilu?
Yang not yong
Do you use Qi Flow in your movements? If not, is it because you haven't felt it, don't believe it makes a difference, or don't believe it's there at all?
Love me for who I am or give me know love at all! If you like my stuff then learn from and be inspired by it! If not, then why are you watching me and wasting yourself???
Ah yes totally, that wasn't meant to be some kinda antagonistic rant directed at u, and i'm srry if it sounded like that. I guess authenticity is important depending on what you use it for, like if its cultural then yea authenticity is really important, if its just for self defense or exercise tho i think watever works works.
Try this: Chen Tai Chi practice each morning for 10 days straight! Roll out of bed and "hit it"! Let nothing break your focus! You are allowed to go to the gym and use the elliptical machine while watching TV etc, but not while doing Tai Chi! Give yourself to complete focus during your practice and you will see the benefits of daily practice! :)
it seems you don't read a lot of comments before writing yours...i do know laojia ilu...and that the only form i know. been doing this form for 2 years only...and you are, i guess, already know laojia ilu, erlu, xinjia ilu, xinjia erlu, paochui both ways, weapons forms such as sable, long pole, spear etc. there are many great masters in usa just like this one...hahaha
Thanks! Always be kind to living creatures!
The dog likes you :D haha
Oh yeah!!!
that Jake is using what he knows to benefit people around the world, by promoting health, mental fortification, and self-defense. I'd much rather learn from a guy who promotes these sorts of things than a guy who's so concerned about lineage that he's willing to sue and attempt to ruin the life of another person. Props to you Jake, you have my support and more than likely the support of grateful people around the world regardless of what these "masters" may try to put down upon you
Have any of you ever trained with Chen Xiao Wang?
Actually it's Chen Fake's students. I practice both styles though. Chen Yu is awesome too. However, the top students of Chen Fake like Du Yu Ze, Tian XuXien, LI JingWu, Feng ZhiQiang and Pan Yongzhou. Both are great however I like Chen fakes style although I don't think there's much difference in the efectiveness.
The Dan Tian is nothing more than deep belly breathing! They are teaching Dan Tian Style breathing to athletes now!
I would love to learn this, mainly to be able to channel my inner aggresion out and become more relaxed. Any tips?
ahh nw man :D, i jus read that forum. i myself teach a bastardized form of wing chun because i couldn't afford lessons from live sifus (other than my dad) and the only way i could/can learn is by watching videos (like this one) and working with people to get the desired effect. People can gripe all they want about lineage and whatnot but the main point is
actually stole that from the martial arts forums...google it and you'll find it...sorry.
Yep! Read up everyone!
We are very similar. His Tai Chi is the closest to ours that I have seen!
fiiiishuuuuuuuuut...fiiiishuuuuuuuuut ...fiiiishuuuuuuuuut !!!
thank you, in fight or exercise whatever works works..couldn't agree more! if Mr. Mace do not want to get a sifu of original Chenshi he must stop calling his exercises Chen Taiji. imagine one of his students learns Chen Taiji for 5 years..then goes one day to China just to be looking ridiculous showing everybody some bullshit moves ...he will be very sorry... done here.
Well I have seen people do Fa Jing differently but usually not in this manner. I've seen others do Fa Jing this way and I don't know how it feels on his body so as long as it's safe. I follow the traditional principles of Chen style through silk reeling. I can kind of see the silk reeling in his striking he seems to be sinking. As he said, everybody has a different way. I can't say much because i'm not a high enough level. I've a lot of learning to do myself, though.
that is a rhetorical question? hahaha
I love how he stopped to talk to the dog! Haha Priceless, This dude is amazing, I learned some great hints from this guy to help me in my Kung Fu Classes and they worked!
the reason i'm writing so much here abt it is that i think you have a great basic skills for martial arts and passion for it, which is rare today, but have been misled-ed somewhere which is sad, you have to open your eyes man, go to China get some real master.
He either learned them from his teacher David Soard, or his teachers teacher Sin Kwang The'.
Mr. Mace would not have been able to tell you who he learned from due to the lawsuit he was involved with Sin The. Jake's teacher, David Soard, was involved in some sexual misconduct with his female students. One of whom was Jake's girlfriend. Sin The' gave his support to Soard, so jake left the organization. ..guys we have to apologies he is a victim himself...
My favorite Kung Fu: Chen Tai Chi!
This may be a late reply, but it's not like people are being petty. This guy can move, but he's doing fake kung fu... most people don't know kung fu, so I guess he mostly gets likes vs. dislikes.
which master inspires you most? let me guess...it's Chen Xaiowang? must be him..
all of us never get to the best level, you getting better and better practicing , but its endless road to mastership...
i thought that the kung fu, the hard way is, and tai chi the soft way.. im not in the wrong here am i ?
Agreed
thanks so much at the explosive punch it really works try it guys it 100% works!!!
Check out this demo from Chen Bing. This is very similar to what we teach and practice:
/watch?v=hTDR34zLbj4&feature=related
They're there to make the moves sound effective
your a nice person
Nature has an affinity for you!
Funny you mention water. I'm sure you heard of the martial arts connection with Avatar: The Last Airbender (the tv show, not the movie)
:)
This gentleman is very fit and that's excellent. I don't like most of his kungfu, too flowery and the valuable stuff is just an intermediate level kungfu. BUT this particular video and this kungfu is very good. Shaolin Do in general is fake, but taiji shown here is real. Good luck to Jake
It almost looked like cannon fist from chen-shi taichi.
Honestly, since most kung fu guys can't fight anyways, I don't see the difference. Besides, every form was at one time "made up" by somebody. We try to hold up what is "traditional" like its some sacred thing, when Wong Fei Hung would have ditched whatever he had if someone came along with something that was in a practical sense "better."
omg :D
2:06 nice dog
I don't see it as wrong. Look at the rotation of the Dan Tien and then the strike. If anything, he shouldn't be TEACHING it this way, because really, it's not that easy.
Super saiyan
Who is this meat with his so-called gung fu! Some people just ruin Chinese gung fu, and he's a leading candidate!!! Very, very poor demonstration of fajing and even general nei gung for that fact!!!!
pls fight karate with this i wana know who will win haha
2:43 combo
have lost too much already. would you rather have an original book of wing chun than written one by some dude who took a couple of lessons from Bruce Lee and wrote that book man...Mr. Mace is doing great job in promoting health and etc. its just so sad and pity that such a talented man in promoting promotes wrongly.. its an art also...its like saving famous paintings for the next generations. must be done and taught in the right manner.
And you know all this how???????
Meh. No real taiji here
funny...
his tai chi is no good. He is to stiff. PS: I am a nice person.
