Really wish they hadn't put phenoxyethanol in the satin shades...but that's a "me" problem. I know most people aren't allergic to it. Ginger looks beautiful, so I thank you for providing so many swatches of comparable shades! I might try Antibes since you said the mattes aren't very dry. Thanks again!

I agree that i would rather not have phenoxyethanol in my lip products. Antibes is a really pretty shade and I do really like that formula! ❤

Thank you for so much for that tip about using mascara only for a month or two. I’m starting to learn that I might need to let go of my eyeshadow primer before I use it all up, so maybe I should stick to inexpensive eyeshadow primers and/or minis. Goodness, gracious, my eyelids are just so so sensitive!!
I also appreciate how careful you are with watching for fragrance. Moving forward I do need to not buy fragranced lip products! I had kind of forgotten about that when I got into makeup couple years ago, and didn’t realize you need to assume that everything has fragrance in it!! 😮
Also, I’ve decided not to use eyelash primer. While I like the effect, and it does help, that’s just one more product I have to worry about irritating my eyes!
What a journey this is for sensitive skinned people! Thank you for everything you’re doing to help us navigate it.

What kind of eyeshadow primer have you been using? My experience has been that some water-based concealers have worked well for me - for instance, the Kosas one, which is available in a mini for $15. Of course, that does not have a lot of preservatives in it, and so I do think it might be a good idea for people who are sensitive to discard it even before 6 months, as I have been doing with mascaras.
What is particularly annoying to me is that both Sephora and Credo allow products to contain fragrance - including synthetic fragrance - and to be called "clean." That is not providing much help to people with sensitive skin, in my opinion.
For the reason that you mention, I have not really used eyelash primers myself. Except there is one from Honest that has a primer and the mascara on the same product, and I did try that for a little while.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences here! ❤

@@lisapetrison-beautyreviews Natasha Denona eyeshadow base in light
This morning, I woke up with flaky eyelids, and they have been fine for a week, and I didn’t do anything differently! I get so tired of having to figure out which thing irritated my eyelids this time!😢😂
I’ve been noticing that my eyeshadow is not staying on as long as usual, so that’s why I’m guessing maybe the eyeshadow base is drying out, causing both of those issues.

@@jjjjk1241 I didn't realize that Natasha Denona made an eyeshadow primer and am not seeing that on her website. But I do think it may be the case that products can be tolerated at first and then become more irritating over time, even if the microbial situation is still okay. That happens a lot with chemical sunscreens, and I think it can happen with other things that I am sporadically reactive to such as maybe propylene glycol as well.

Great video. ALL of my merit lipsticks ( matte & signature) have broken within a month . I don’t live in a warm or cold climate … your tip is great. I stopped buying because this is what I take with me to reapply , & can’t trust them ( lol ) I just bought the new dark highlighter balm , and it broke upon opening . They were great about a refund, but again, I can’t take them on the go. I love the biphased oil, brow gel, mascara , lip oils, and blushes . The foundation I have is not a match , but I like the ease of use & hoping for more shades in future . Thx Lisa!!( all of my mattes broke the first day, fyi)

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that about the lipsticks breaking. Especially the mattes since I have not had issues with those (yet). It is a bit of a challenge for companies to create lipsticks that feel really good on the lips but that hold up and don't break or look messy. Which lipsticks have worked best for you so far? ❤

@@lisapetrison-beautyreviews honestly , my last purchase was the glow balm ( dark ) solstice? From merit. I was so frustrated , I felt like what will happen in hot weather? lol / I am using mob lipliner 1990 a lot, with a balm over. I ordered another ilia lip crayon , as I have one mauve & like it. When summer hits, lipliners and crayon-liners will be my go to . I got the Caliray plumping clear gloss and like it for natural look, & their new bronzer looks good. Used to use Honest beauty balms during COVID , and may retry new shades! Thx so much for the research 🌸🌸

Do you apply the Glow Serum after SPF?

    • @lisapetrison-beautyreviews
      @lisapetrison-beautyreviews  Месяц назад +1

The instructions from Merit actually say to put the product on before moisturizer, and so all of that would seem to be before SPF. Typically, especially in summer, I have found that if I moisturize my skin really well at night, just using the Merit serum and nothing else under makeup often works well for me. As discussed in other videos, I have been relying on a good hat for sun protection since historically my skin has been irritated by even mineral sunscreens, but now that I have found out that a major culprit is sunscreen boosters, I have been experimenting more with some sunscreens. Though not under makeup yet. ❤

Thank you so much for this video! I appreciate all of the comparisons. I am about to finish up the Lisa Eldridge kitten mischief, and the color is way too warm on me. I use it as a lip sleeping mask overnight, since I like the formula, but not the color. So I’m glad to know the MERIT ginger shade probably is not for me. Goodness, that’s disappointing about people having trouble with broken Merit lipsticks; that is something I really don’t want to tolerate. I don’t enjoy putting lipstick on with my fingers or brush, and I don’t wanna have to depot it to make it back into a bullet. 🫤 Not that a person should have to go through all that.

I do really like the LE Luxuriously Lucent formula a lot. It is a lot like the Merit Satin formula but doesn't seem as prone to breaking, though maybe some people have had issues with it. Which lipstick shades (from whatever brands) have been your favorites? ❤

@@lisapetrison-beautyreviews I know! I would love to hear your take on them, but I totally understand not wanting fragrance on your lips. I have to be careful with Fragrance too, but I don’t seem to have trouble with the ones that smell like vanilla. The Chanel one I didn’t even realize had fragrance for a long time, it is so faint.
#3 would be the cheekbone Beauty lipstick! I don’t need more makeup right now, but when I do, they are definitely on my wish list to try more of their products. Would love to see a review from you of the Cheekbone Beauty line if you’re interested.
