    Should we do another video on the different types of injectors? VCO vs. SAC? Let me know and dont forget that 👍 on the way out!

    this is a good thing to do if your truck is a 2nd gen but the 24v in the title can confuse some people that have a commonrail 24v Cummins. because those injectors are much more intricate parts and sensitive pieces that I would suggest not trying to rebuild yourself. but if you got a 2nd gen Cummins of either variety 12v or 24v then the injectors are quite easy to take apart and clean like how panorama shows

    A tip for re-installing parts similar to the shim which could end up skewed is to keep it stationary on a suitable rod pointing vertically up and sliding the inverted body over it. Saves the fiddling and having to fish it back out.

    I have another solution for what you do, because you put a lot labor. For non common rail injector is most important nozzle and pin, I don’t know if you have in USA ( because I’m from Europe) Liqui Moly Diesel Purge, you just have to run on this directly, is not additive to fuel tank, disconnecting fuel lines and dropping in the bottle of Liqui Moly Diesel Purge, we most use 1 l for 4 cylinders engines, but I think like for Cummins 6 l 1.5l it should be enough, and it gives amazing results (plus cleans all injection pump inside) and it takes less less labor for removing injector and do this all cleaning by hand, and I’m not sponsored by Liqui Moly, just have experience with that

    This almost two year old video still holds a lot of value. thank you. So, I have a 2019 Ram 3500 with about 120,000 miles on it. I'm getting a#2 and #4 misfire and, I am being told by two different shops that the problem is the fuel injectors. Do you think that the injectors on my new model Ram will be similar to the ones you disassemble and clean?

      sorry i don’t know if you still need an answer, but the injectors are completely different on a common rail, especially a newer one with split injection like yours would have

    No preference on the videos, I watch them are regardless of when there released.
    Watching this video reminds me of cleaning firearms, ie; small parts and tight tolerances. Has anyone tried using gun cleaners such a hoppes on their injectors? Dissolves the baked on carbon instantly off of gun parts.

    Dont' know where you get your information from but quite some things you say are not very right...
    The injector nozzle part is not fragile and can do with a decent scrubbing. The part to watch out is at the very point, where the 4, 5, 6 or even 7 tiny injector holes, depending on the application, are!! And these holes should be checked under a conciderable magnification, like x10, carefully cleaned, without trying to push any kind of wire throughthen!! If I recall well, these spray holes can be a s little as 0.13mm in diameter. Also, blown through, with air and with diesel fuel... preferably using a diesel injecter tester!

    You Make great videos.. for those not so mechanically incline it makes it easier to tackle a job . One suggestion would be changing your name I believe that would help get more subscribers and views to help you benefit from the time you take to make the videos , good luck

      Funny you mention that, because I have been thinking about that a lot as of recently! I think there may be a name change coming in the near future. I'm trying to decide between a few different things now. Thank you for the positive feedback and for watching!

    I have a bosch commonrail injector part № 30750283. Would you please tell me how much (Nm) tightening torque to tighten the nozzle?

    I am a painter and I know they sell VM&P Naphtha for mixing oil based paints to help the Dry time at paint stores and I have seen it at home depot. This stuff is nasty. Does this stuff clean injectors? Not sure but it does have the Naphtha ingredient. Who knows it could be better, just saying!!!!!

    Are you able to spray these parts off with brake cleaner and scrub with a brush?

    • @JakeKennes
      @JakeKennes Год назад

      You could use brake cleaner to help removing any dirt. But you will have to oil or diesel coat all the parts very soon after to avoid surface rust building up quickly!!
      Better even to use an ultrasonci bath to clean the parts.

    Then why didn't _you_ get lantern fuel and the softer pad?

    • @purepanorama8484
      @purepanorama8484  3 года назад

      The store i went to didnt have lantern fuel and I thought I had different scotch Brite pads in the garage from some previous stuff I had done. So I just used what I had to show you could still do that but figured it was worth passing that information along to people. You don't "need" softer pads necessarily, but if somebody doesn't trust in their ability to be more on the gentile side then a softer pad may be better for them. I had zero issues and everything came out nicely in the end.

    What kind chemical do u use ?? For cleaning

    • @purepanorama8484
      @purepanorama8484  5 лет назад

      I think its called naphtha, is what you want to use. You can find it at lowes or home depot. You can use kerosene too, but the naphtha is what will work the best.

  • @ObamaoZedong
    @ObamaoZedong 5 лет назад +1

    does kerosene work better than carb cleaner?

    • @purepanorama8484
      @purepanorama8484  5 лет назад +1

      Not sure on the carb cleaner. Havent looked into that. Lantern fuel is supposed to be the best product to get them cleaned up nicely. Mopar1973man used Coleman lantern fuel. I used kerosene because I had it in the garage and it certainly worked for what I was trying to accomplish.

    • @ObamaoZedong
      @ObamaoZedong 5 лет назад

      @@purepanorama8484 I've seen people hook up an injector to a schrader valve with the core removed and then somehow sealed it to the straw on the carb cleaner bottle. Maybe the spring is too heavy on these for that though.

    • @fwddodge22
      @fwddodge22 5 лет назад +2

      There are also different types of carb cleaner. The really good stuff that just instantly melts away carbon and varnish is Dichloromethane- DCM. look for it on the ingredients list on the cans.
      Naptha is also a common solvent. Dont bother with the lantern fuel- just go to lower home depot walmart or wherever and buy a gallon of naptha.
