I remember the black olives and green onion, but I always thought it had sour cream, too. I guess that was something I would add on? Still tasted great! Just another couple weeks before it's triumphant return on May 19, 2022!
I continue to order on purpose even though i know and they know and everyone knows its discontinued, but we all know we want it back…why is life so hard, when it can be so easy!
Sometimes the actual 80s seem like a parody of the 80s :D Hooray for the Mexican Pizza coming back though! Taco Bell is pretty much pointless without it
I think as we age, our taste buds change... We're exposed to more foods, more delicate, intense flavors... Taco Bell may be too salty or too THAT for our refined palates. ❤️
Google "Pizzazz Pizza Taco Bell" to see the details of the lawsuit that resulted in the name change. In 1975, someone in Ohio registered the name as a trademark.
LOVE MEXICAN PIZZAS!!! I eat several of these weekly!! When I was teenager me and my friends would head over to the closest Taco Bell every Friday evening for dinner! I'd get A Mexican Pizza an order of nachos and a large Pepsi!! Ahhh..Memories!!
Does anyone remember when Taco Bell had the Enchirito?? Flour tortilla filled with a ton of ground beef, diced onions and cheese, then smothered with red sauce, diced onions and tons of cheese!!!!! OMG I WANT ONE
interesting...i feel the same way after seeing your comment. It probably has something to do with this being the first branding that we saw when we originally started eating and enjoying the food. Classical conditioning at work.
@Conduit13C It was very similar but made with higher quality stuff and they grated the cheese at the store instead of pre grated plasic cheese. Sometimes if the regular tacos are super fresh they taste almost like they did back when
I've had the Pizzazz (Mexican) Pizza a few times when it was offered. It was nothing to get jazzed up before. As with a lot of things Taco Bell introduces, the menu item might sell good for a while and then its popularity fades. The item gets discontinued with something new taking its place. This makes sense, since stores can't serve everything Taco Bell has introduced since they went in business. It's the same at McDonald's and elsewhere. Anyway, is there any way to have the 80's come back? Best decade. We need a working flux capacitor.
The Pizzazz Pizza was better in those days because they used more cheese and added black olives on top. The Mexican Pizza is ok, but it's not the same. I also miss the Taco Bell Grande.
Sweet I still stop by Taco Bell about every Friday on payday for a number 5! One Mexican Pizz, two tacos and a Pepsi! I usually order a second Pizza, though!
Aww yeah, when the Mexican pizza had olives and green onions. They stopped the green onions 10 years ago because of the ecoli scare. They need to make it the old way!
@ea1k1 Yeah, I know what you mean! I like the Beefy Cheesy Melts that have from time to time. I usually order a 7-layer burrito if they don't have those!
Well today we can't (atleast for now) and haven't been able to for several years now. Just stumbled onto this original name when looking for how the mexican pizza changed over the years...I had forgotten it even had black olives on it at one point. We are also only about one month away from it returning (again sans the greens and black olives) but they SAY it will be back permanently yet in 2022 with Taco Bell....well....nothing seems to be "permanent" anymore.
I don't understand why Taco Bell gives people gas or the runs. It doesn't do that to me. Also, their food tastes the same to me as it did 20 odd years ago. I don't think they changed anything, except they used to put olives on the pizazz pizza. And you can eat it like a pizza. It doesn't fall apart on me. What's wrong with you people? Do you live out in the sticks?
@@tbb033 lol well they DID....have it...about a year or so after you posted this they took it away and its been gone for several years now...BUT....we are also getting it back in exactly one months time!!! People have been going nuts!!! Hopefully they now know they should never try to remove it again! (We shall see with TB you never know)

Just another couple weeks before it's triumphant return on May 19, 2022!
Before Taco Bell got rid of half the ingredients.
And then the whole damn thing now
I just add my own olives a green peppers when I get home. Tastes just like the original.
I continue to order on purpose even though i know and they know and everyone knows its discontinued, but we all know we want it back…why is life so hard, when it can be so easy!
one month from now and it WILL be back!!!
Sometimes the actual 80s seem like a parody of the 80s :D
Hooray for the Mexican Pizza coming back though! Taco Bell is pretty much pointless without it
This comercial is gold! Being back memories for sure!
OH ME TOO!!!!! I remember seeing those ads during Live Aid.
Watching in 2022 . . . remembering when Taco Bell's food actually tasted good.
I think as we age, our taste buds change...
We're exposed to more foods, more delicate, intense flavors...
Taco Bell may be too salty or too THAT for our refined palates. ❤️
Back in the 1980s, as a young refined gentleman with discriminating tastes, I would often dine-in at The Bell 🛎
What does that say about the adults still eating there?

Mannn I'm hungry now!!
How many polyps have you had removed from your colon?
I thought I remembered the olives on this. Thanks.
Does anyone remember when Taco Bell had the Enchirito?? Flour tortilla filled with a ton of ground beef, diced onions and cheese, then smothered with red sauce, diced onions and tons of cheese!!!!! OMG I WANT ONE
Is it just me or does the old Taco Bell logo inspire more hunger than the newer logos?
interesting...i feel the same way after seeing your comment. It probably has something to do with this being the first branding that we saw when we originally started eating and enjoying the food. Classical conditioning at work.
I was just telling a coworker that it used to be called the Pizzazz Pizza and she didn't believe me!
I worked there when the Pazzzza pizza 🍕 came on board!
zoot, you should've told her to get lost.
I have had that exact same thing happen to me.
@Conduit13C It was very similar but made with higher quality stuff and they grated the cheese at the store instead of pre grated plasic cheese. Sometimes if the regular tacos are super fresh they taste almost like they did back when
taco bell first named it the 'pizzazz'.. now its just named mexican pizza
It's true. I worked at Taco Bell when the Pizzazz Pizza was introduced.

@F41Driver I agree, taco bell grande was my fave and they had a taco with a flaky shell for a while that I liked but I dont remember the name...
The Taco Light was the flaky shell!
My first job was talk about 1984 the 1985.. I remember when the pizzazz pizza was introduced.. lol
BRING IT BACK!
Is that Judge Reinhold at the end sayin' "Only if you're standin' in the right place...!"? Sure looks like him...?
The Pizzazz Pizza was better in those days because they used more cheese and added black olives on top. The Mexican Pizza is ok, but it's not the same.
I also miss the Taco Bell Grande.
Andrew Sommers and green onions
They should of kept the name the same for this pizza.🤷♀️🍕Now it's just called Mexican pizza.🎉🎊🎉
I fucking want taco bell
KTNV Channel 13 Aired The Taco Bell
Pizzazz! Commercial Taken From The Break
Of The Jokers Wild With Host Bill Cullen
Sweet I still stop by Taco Bell about every Friday on payday for a number 5! One Mexican Pizz, two tacos and a Pepsi! I usually order a second Pizza, though!
@rang3r34 I always order the Mexican Pizza combo. But that's not enough food so I also add a bean burrito and a steak quesdilla.
This commercial dates from July of 1985, making this one of the first of Taco Bell's ads with their then-new logo.
Aww yeah, when the Mexican pizza had olives and green onions. They stopped the green onions 10 years ago because of the ecoli scare. They need to make it the old way!
Dean great green onions are nasty 😞!!
And those 4 olives 🫒
long live the eighties...
they still put green onions on top.
@ea1k1 Yeah, I know what you mean! I like the Beefy Cheesy Melts that have from time to time. I usually order a 7-layer burrito if they don't have those!
After a weekend evening of heavy drinking, making a stop south of the border is always on the menu
i'm now confused, hungry and aroused
Oh God, attack of the 80s!

Well today we can't (atleast for now) and haven't been able to for several years now.

I'M SCARED----HOLD ME
Why did they make this look like a PG-13 horror movie?
Oh how I loooooooooooove TACO BELL....
I don't understand why Taco Bell gives people gas or the runs. It doesn't do that to me. Also, their food tastes the same to me as it did 20 odd years ago. Sex sells.
Yeah, that item really lasted long, didn't it?
They still have it genius, they just changed the name to mexican pizza
@@tbb033 lol well they DID....have it...about a year or so after you posted this they took it away and its been gone for several years now...BUT....we are also getting it back in exactly one months time!!!
