I know that everyone’s AC unit location/surroundings are going to be different but I feel like this is one can easily be altered to fit any space. I cannot believe I made this for less that $40! Now I want to see what I can do with the ugly two units we have in our own backyard! Would you want a second version? Let me know!

Happy Sunday! You guys asked for it so I decided to put out a little weekend DIY project. Total side note: I am testing out a new microphone so please let me know what you think about the audio/I am sorry if it is terrible. Stay tuned for a giveaway coming out in Wednesday's tutorial xx.
Sounds great! What mic? I'm using just a cheap lapel mic I got on Amazon and I'm looking to upgrade soon.
I need to find the link but it was definitely a bigger investment from my $25 haha.
Lol it's always something right? I'm just getting started and I've already spent a ton and as soon as I get used to something I'm ready to upgrade already. I basically work so I can create at this point lol.
I absolutely love this ! Thank you Rachel !!
The A/C unit could be affected by those panels ,your blocking much needed air flow .Need to be a foot away
Sorry didn't mean to step on your high, 35 years A/C contractor
Very nice job
Yes! Thank you for that - after shooting this, we moved it away the proper space.
PLEASE make a video making DIY outdoor furniture! love you girl thanks!
I didn't know there was battery powered miter saws?! How cool is that! I love this project, thank you for sharing!
Milwaukee has a battery powered table saw too! They're basically making everything battery powered
I don't need a new saw but now I want one lol
Haha
THAT is Awesome and everyone could use one!! You Go Girl!! 🙌 I'm happy things are on the up and up for you, Rachel ❣ You'll get that workshop in no time!
Thank you so much Gina!
This looks so awesome!
The audio was great, totally sharp. I love the design! It's a really nice solution❤
Oh yay! Okay awesome good to know xx.
Looks great, Rachel! I like the design!
Slowly but surely I hope my woodworking skills will progress.
That thing is badass! I should probably unbox my miter saw sometime this century. I bought it last summer. 😆 I love your a/c cover. You did a great job!
Um you definitely should!
I love watching your videos. Always so inspirational!
Thank you!
Wow! What a great job and lovely and different design!
I appreciate that.
A/C cover looks great. Thanks for sharing this. Wish to do that on mine now, and thanks for showing how the saw folds
and fits in a vehicle. I drive a Jeep wrangler so now I see I could fit that in there no problem.
Thank you for the love! It'll fit in your car with ease - can't wait to get an SUV.
Weekend upload yeah I'm liking your creative work it's so talented DIY at its finest. #muchlove Rachel
It's very basic but it gets the job done!
Really nice solution for the ugly AC unit! Well done Rachel!
Thank you! I love that you can pull it back and away from the AC unit as well.
Great job with project and very professional video and audio. Sounds great!
Thank you!
Great sound quality and great project!
Really appreciate that xx.
Yay! Thanks for the video. Definitely building one, once our hellacious heat calms down(metro Phoenix). Hate how the unit visually dominates the space. This will look so much better. Thanks again!
And I like the fact that you can pull this one away with ease to ensure the unit isn't working insanely hard and causing your bill to go up as another subscriber mentioned.
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz OMG; no kidding! Last thing I need when our temps already reach 110F.!
Love this you are so talented. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
thank you for reminding me that i can be a girl and still do projects like this in a professional manner and not act like its just a small hobby :) i always act like the projects i do are no big deal and just to fill time but if i could do it full time i absolutely would!! too bad i’m 15 lol. thank you though :) one of my biggest inspirations right now
This is like entry level woodworking. Kinda janky but it works. If you want to see more women do woodworking, check out diy huntress, 3x3 tamar, pneumatic addict, darbin orvar, april wilkerson, laura kampf, and anne of all trades.
This is very entry level wood working so it's a great place to start! Those badass broads are some of my main humans in my life. Thanks for recommending them for Natalie!
I love the look of this.
Thank you so much!
Girl you are just like me shoving all those tools and wood in my car with leather seats 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love that I'm not the only one!!!!
HAHAHA I had to throw it in because that is the reality.
Totally bada$$. I adore the look, price and ... that I might be able to actually do this project!! Thank you.
Mic was great. It is very sharp
Thank you very much! This is basic woodworking and I probably did it wrong but it works!
Another great project!!!
Thank you!
also i love your videos they are absolutely amazing 😍❤️
Thank you!
YAY!!!! Thanks Rachel
Thank you love!
That corner piece really made a difference. Good call on that!
Thank you William!
Totally getting one of those milkwaukee mitre saws, we have a lot of m18 tools so this is brilliant!
I have been solely using this for all projects and am in love.
You killed it good job!!!
Thank you! This is super basic woodworking but it works!
that saw looks sick!
I am really impressed with it!
Yeah Buddy!! You did it again Cuz!!! Steppin up your tool game bigtime!! Very well done Kid!! Hope all is well & Dirty Jersey out!!
Thank you so much Mike!
I wanna do this for my backyard sooo bad!!!
Love it! So cute❤
Thanks Deanna!
Thanks, I have no idea why I didn't just realize it can sit there without being permanently installed. This should be pretty easy!
Love your vids ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Jenna xx.
Nice That’s a beautiful machine
Right?
WOW!!! This is AMAZING🤩🤩🤩👌
You are so talented babe 👍😘❤
#GIRLPOWER
Super basic build - love how easy it is!
Has a nice look.
Thank you so much!
Soooooo gorgeous
Thank you Demi!
I want one 💙💙💙💙
Super easy to make!
I love this pattern. If I would be lucky enough to have a yard like this, I would rather have a whole fence made like this. It is better than that old classic pattern.
That would be stunning!
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz ;) new idea for you ;)
The A/C unit cover is too close to the unit. There should be at least 12" clearance around the unit for proper air flow.
Appreciate that! Thank you!
Great job will be trying this is I buy a house and the ac unit it's outside on the floor like this one.
Make sure to space it 2 feet from the unit!
Okay thank you for the tips girly
This would be great for a yard fence with posts in cement attached to it
Love that idea!
They are not that price any longer... lol! The Dog eared fence slats...
I was thinking the same, looks bad ass!
Thx for calming me, it’s been a ratchet week for me. They say your life is what you make of it, but damn I swear to god I liked my life, no I loved my life until I picked up a damn stalker. Talk bout wanting to punch someone in the throat. Nice AC cover, very cool
Thank you! I am so sorry about your stalker - hope that gets figured out soon xx.
❤️ Loved!!! Thank for sharing.
Thank you so much for the love!
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz 😊❤️
"hot flashes and menopause" lolllllll youre too good hahahaha
Haha
I have a DeWalt miter saw but I'm thinking of selling it to get a sliding miter saw. I have a Milwaukee drill so maybe this one would work for me. I'll have to check the voltage on the battery my drill uses. Rach, I adore you.
#girlswithtools
Thank you so much Nikki! You just made my evening. I am happy to report this is the only miter I am using currently since this build. Been working on a project for three days and the battery hasn't died.
That looks really good! They did not want it pink?
She liked the natural wood contrast against the pink!
NICE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ONE COVERED BY THE WINDOW.
I don't have one by a window but I'm sure there is a ton of inspiration out there.
What size nails were used for this project?
I'm afraid to use a miter saw. I'm inexperienced. Is there any other kind of tool that does 45 degree angles you recommend?
There is a miter box with a handsaw.
Eventually... We'll see less and less lime green.
Haha yes you will, slowly but surely. And hopefully my woodworking skills progress as well.
Surely an air conditioner needs air.
Yes you can move this guy back as well! My other subscribers commented the appropriate amount it should be scooted back.
Totally unrelated, but credits for your outfits please 🙂
Haha all the outfits here are like my work rag clothes.
You'll be replacing that compressor much sooner than you want! But, it looks pretty, draw some flowers on it while you are at it. 🤦🏻♂️
I wish I could draw.
Sexist much asshole
" cheap DIY AC unit cover + battery powered miter saw!! "
Yes! Not bad for my first go I think.
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz that's right... But I was suggesting that as a title... If someone tries to find a review of this cordless tool, your vid can get recommended by that....
Ah! You're so smart - I am going to change that now!
Total Milwaukee advertisement lol
Yes! It is because I'm a partner with Home Depot on their tool program and this was part of their program xx.
Eewwww
Sorry you aren't a fan! Ton of other ones out there for inspiration.
Living to DIY with Rachel Metz Sorry I don’t care I will watch anything I want b
