Yay. So happy to see Athens with you guys. Your video content is super special. I feel like a tourist. Thank you for sharing such wonderful scenes. Thank goodness you got an English speaking taxi driver. So sorry you paid so much. Look forward to the next video. Look after yourselves.
We really liked Athens and felt safe even though it is such a huge city. Your heritage is even more amazing up close. Were we badly overcharged by the taxi driver..?!? 🤔🤦🏼♀️ He was a nice guy, so we don't mind too much and it saved us a HUGE amount of walking. We're glad to have you along with us. Much love 😘💜🤟
Wow, simply wow!! We know how much visiting here meant to you and clearly has not disappointed. To visit all those historical landmarks that you read so much about, is simply awesome. Your taxi driver.. we love him! Was going to say how do you meet such amazing people, but good, kind people attract similar. Can't wait to see your second installment of Athens. Love Sarah and Barry x x
Aaww thanks guys..! It was really unusual for us to feel so at home in a city. The only disappointment was that we couldn't see more in two days.🤣 Kostas found us and is very good at upselling. It amazes us that there are 11 million people living in Greece (legally) and 5 million of those, live in Athens and its suburbs, although it was easy to imagine when you see Athens from Lycabettus Hill and see how huge it is. We hope to go back again soon and see some more, including loads of museums. 🤞 Hopefully Athens will still be as 'quiet' as it was last time. 😜 Thanks for your comment guys. Much love 😘💜🤟
@bellosjt Hi, thanks for correcting us. We just went by the figures that Kostas the taxi driver gave us. There are still a lot of people compared to our little village of Potries with its 500-ish permanent residents. 😬 Thanks so much for your comment. 💜🤟
Hey Paulette, Thank-you. We tried not to make a big thing of it, but we guess our faces still showed how much we have struggled to come to terms with our losses. Our boys were our world. We're glad we seem to be getting back to being more ourselves. Thanks for staying with us through it. Much love 😘🥰💜🤟
You are most welcome Heidi. It's great to have you along with us. Thank you so much for your comment. Make sure you watch wednesday's video, for the piece de résistance 😘💜🤟
A place on my bucket list. It's nice to see. I did expect a little more of the old city. I guess everything it's scattered all around. Can't wait for the next.
Hey Kat, A lot of the sites are roughly in the same general area, but the Lycabettus Hill was a long distance away and I (Alison) have to apologise, when I planned our visit, I thought that there was more to see on the hill itself than just the church. In hindsight, it wouldn't have been a priority for us. The Greek Agora site was huge and took quite a while to walk around. By the time we got the metro into the city, we didn't arrive in Athens until 10.30/10.45 and then had to walk to the sites and were advised to leave before dark. I was surprised that we didn't get to see as much as we had hoped in one day. I was shattered by the end of the second day and we still had lots more things on my/our list to visit and hadn't made it to any of the museums, of which there are many. I think we would need at least a week to see most of the things on my list. We plan to go back and see more shortly, after the kitten has had his next vaccine at the vets here on the island of Evia. By all means drop us a list of your must-see places of Athens and we'll try to get there for you. Spoiler alert our second day was definitely the best. 🏛️😍😘🥰💜🤟
LOVEEEE Athens, brings back memories. Olympic stadium great! Did not make it up that hill with amazing view. Must go up there in October! Did it have a name?
The hill we went up was called the Lycabettus Hill. When we go back, we want to visit the Philopappos Hill, which is closer to the Acropolis and has its own archaeology. How long are you going for .?!? 😍💜🤟
@findingxanadulife we will be in Athens maybe 3/4 days. Seems like we could catch things we missed. Don't have to do Zeus and other areas. Just repeat Parthenon. I will take note of those other 2 places so we can hit them. I can't forget that view and a must check out little church up there. Like you I must check out every one I find along the way! Thank you for the name of that one and other. I'll check them out online to read up on them. Yes looking for comfortable weather!
@elainebramson7042 I'll message you anything else that we visit that I think is worth a look, if it's not in a video. I think we would really need 2 weeks to see everything at a slow enough pace to take it all in. 🤣💜🤟
Hey Matthew, Only once in the duration of time that we were in Athens. A man and a woman were walking too close for my liking in a non-busy street, but it turned out to be nothing. People are probably used to walking closer together in the city and maybe we were dawdling, taking in the sites. In other cities around the world, yes, but we are always careful and vigilant. We're glad you liked the video and we hope you like today's video too. Much love 💜🤟
Matthew I always think about Pygmy goats..! 🤣🤣 When we originally moved to Spain, we were looking for a home with room for a goat or 4, but decided on a townhouse instead. 🤷🏼♀️🐐💜🤟
Woohoo..!! Athens at last..! 🎉🎊🎉🎊🥳🥳 We have both waited so long to visit here. Have you been..?!? What was your favourite visit..?!! 😍💜🤟

It was lovely to see the excitement and joy you were feeling come back into your face after the tough time you had been through.

Hey Gareth,
The best is still yet to come..! Spoiler alert for the next video. 🤣💜🤟
I've lived in Athens for ten years and it is a very safe place to walk, even at night.
We felt the safest in Athens, as we have in any large city in the world so far. We will definitely go back again. Thank you for your comments. 💜🤟

@findingxanadulife Thanks for offering I trust your judgment. I haven't done much research of Athens. 🤟💜

Great video
Did you ever felt funny walking around in a city or wary

i personally do like to se what people eat
Hi and thanks for your comment. We will endeavour to eat our weight in Greek food and cakes while we're here then. 😜 Such a chore. 🤣
Much love 💜🤟
Alison don’t think about a pigmy goat
