@CAH3893 Hi, To be honest, we haven't actually made a video of our story. The first 11 months of the channel, we lived in the Valencia region in a large house that we reformed. In 2020 it became clear that our parents were not going to come to live with us, which was why we bought such a large house, so we decided to downsize. When we had the house, we didn't have the money to travel. We had intended to buy a small flat and a motorhome, but we couldn't find a flat, so we decided to travel a bit before re-settling. We bought the motorhome last November and liked the lifestyle, so we currently don't know when we will resettle. I hope that explains enough and makes sense. We follow another English couple on RUclips who seem to have done the opposite - Travelling, then buying a motorhome before selling it to buy a property in Spain as a base but still plan to go travelling - 2goroam I think their channel is called. I am slowly catching up to date with yourselves and just watched you in Alicante (my husband’s favourite) and will watch your Benidorm video next. @CAH3893 Darren learned Spanish at school, but then didn't use it and I had to start from scratch. I can read and understand more than I can speak. I struggle to remember the words that I need, often in English as well as Spanish, but if I hear I word that I know, it pops into my head. Trying to learn another language in my mid forties has not been easy and I'm far from fluent, but we both get by. I still use Google translate a lot, but read the translation rather than have the person read it themselves. 2goroam sound familiar. I think we may have seen some of their videos recently. Be warned, not everyone liked our Benidorm video. We took a lot of flack for it. 🤪💜🤟

Albarracín and Zaragoza were too. *Spoiler alert* We visit Albarracín in next week's video and Zaragoza in the video after that. 😉 If you have never been to Albarracín, you should add it to your list. @@findingxanadulife No problem! We had a great time in Zaragoza, and hopefully you both do as well. It is Spain's 5th largest city, after all, and the old city is very concentrated. I know you're not big on cities or crowds, but going to the "El Tubo" is a must - it's old, cobblestone streets with old buildings, and TONS of (mostly) tapas restaurants. Some of them only offer one dish! We'll add Teruel and Albarracin on our ever growing list. In case you didn't know, Zaragoza was considered the "retirement community" for Roman legionnaires back in those days - you'll see many Roman ruins there, even in the city center. I don't know if you follow "Spain Speaks" on RUclips, but Stuart is an Aussie who moved here about 25 years ago. He felt that doing livestreams around 7:30pm, Spanish time is the best - it's easy from Europe, lunchtime in much of North America, and breakfast time on the western coast of the US/Canada. It's not too, too late for parts of Asia/Africa (though only really dedicated Aussie/Kiwis would attend). He decided to do regular live streams over travel videos (less to prepare and edit). We happen to be travelling back to North America to visit our aging parents in November/December this year, as well, otherwise, we'd be ok. How about December 18th (two weeks after)? 😉 You could put up a poll with different time options here on RUclips, too, which might help you decide. My father-in-law is 93, and his older sister will be 96 next month (my folks are much younger). Good on your father for making it to 94! 👏 I'll speak with my wife and we'll make a donation likely this weekend. Take care!

Thankfully we're already approaching Calais, ready for our ferry this coming Friday, but we also travelled over the Pyrénées at the Col Du Portalet, to enjoy the scenery. Neither of us are keen on tunnels. UK to Spain on a Vespa must have been a great experience. Which way did you travel back after you discovered the tunnels were closed..?? The Canino Trust Resort doggo pool is in Ondara, not far from the N332 road, or a motorway junction, so it's well placed and we really enjoyed it. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. I think you will probably want to add next week's video location too. *Spoiler alert* We went to Albarracín, which isn't massive, but is utterly incredible. We got the timings wrong, so we didn't manage to go into the church, or the castle, but just the main village was everything that we loved. we needed several more hours than we had spare, as we would have loved to walk all along the defense walls too, but we were running on empty, emotionally and physically at that point. Zaragoza will be the video in 2 weeks time. 😉 Our travel plans do frequently change, for exactly those 2 reasons, but we're quite good at winging it. 😉 We're not planning another RUclips channel, we are planning to do a 'Live stream' on this channel, provisionally December 4th at 5pm standard European time, 4pm UK time. We are asking if people would be interested, as it's been requested, but we haven't done a proper live stream before. It's a chance for you to ask us questions directly, or you can email/message them to us in advance, for us to answer on the day. 😬 It's a little terrifying for us. 🥴 We hope you will be able join us..! @findingxanadulife I am positively certain you can wing it! No doubt. Thanks for location of doggy resort. We have a mini schnauzer we got at 6 weeks while living in Panama. We lost 3 dogs that we took with us. We have always had dogs but it was difficult to have 3 die in one year. Our golden died from scorpion sting the other 2, king Charles spanners died from horrible heart attacks. Many have this issue and they were old. I love following you and adding places to my list. Remember you went you a besutiful jewish? Church. The inside was amazing and I think you loved that. These are perhaps the typical out of the way places many miss. Besides, again, I love your honesty when commenting. Soooo many beautiful things to see in the world! I envy you guys being able to do that. Can't wait to be watching as you get to Turkey! And what happens after that. YES I plan to go on your live though I have to figure out what would be US time. Sounds like maybe just past 12 noon or even noon. But i plan to join for sure. Oh Elaine, We're so sorry. Losing 3 dogs in a year is heartbreaking and in circumstances that must have made you feel so helpless. We had a similar situation with our cats a few years back. We lost 2 cats, a week apart and then a 3rd 6 months later. It's awful. Did you mean the Russian Orthodox church near Altea .? If so, yes, that was completely different to anything else that we have seen. We're not religious people, but very much appreciate the architecture used in religious buildings. The different styles fascinate both of us. Hey Dan and Stevie, We've been wanting to go to the doggo pool for years, but never got around to it until now. It's a shame, as Sebastian would have loved it, he was the water baby of the family, but it seemed fitting to do something that was all about Bart and his buddy Henry. The chiringuito did really reasonably priced, good food too. We all had a bocadillo (Bart had some of the chicken from mine) €24/25 for 3 full size bocadillos and 3 cans of drink. The only downside that we found was that the slides were strictly for doggos only, no humans. 🫤 It was great to lose ourselves in the fun of dog play for the day and Tia Paloma enjoyed her birthday. Teruel was another place that was not just pinned on our map, but favourited. The story of the lovers tugged at the heart strings (whichever slightly amended version you believe - was she wearing her wedding dress or mourning clothes...etc) and the sarcophagi were just so beautiful. Then virtually everywhere you look, you can find Mudéjar architecture. Blissful. We're terrified about the live, but we have been asked for it a few times, so we'll roll the dice and hope it isn't too much of a car crash.. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 Honestly, I don't think we would want 1 million subscribers. How do you maintain a good connection with people..? We have a base group of subscribers, who we interact with each week and their comments would potentially get lost among the masses. It's lovely that at the moment, we can get to know a little bit about the people on the other end of the videos, rather than them just being random names. @findingxanadulife I just think it's so great those dog places exist, and so pleased Bart enjoyed himself, especially after recent events ❤️ Fully agree about the subscribers. On the one hand, the idea of the channel growing is great, but it would eventually get to a point where you can't interact with everyone. I try to give everyone a proper reply, and on "busy" weeks, this can take a long time. Which is okay, but like you say, eventually you'd lose track of who everyone is. Not something me and Stephen have to worry about for now though, and might not ever be 😂 You'll be grand at the live. Just be yourselves and you'll be fine 😁 Having questions ready to answer as you said in the video, might make it easier too for a first one ❤️ Take care both ❤️🤟

My family continued to say that there was nothing I could do and Darren and I do rely heavily on each other for support, along with 'number 1 son' Mahpiya, who I hand reared from birth. He sleeps on my pillow and somehow knows to wake me if I have a nightmare. I was terrified of taking the flight alone and hated the idea of Darren having to drive all that way. We do indeed have some very good friends, who have become our extended family, whom we miss dreadfully, even though we are in contact when we travel. It was extra tough leaving Potries. Thank-you Kat. It's strange hearing people say that I look like dad. People have always told me I look more like my mum, except for the rogue sticky-out ear that clearly came from dad 🤣 We're trying to enjoy the drive back to the UK, rather than drive on monotonous roads for hours. My parents made me love travelling and my dad's dad made me love wandering aimlessly through woodland and nature. Much love as always 😘💜🤟
