Before you pluck or wax your nose hair, get a q-tip and go over the inside of your nose with alcohol based hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol. Hand sanitizer is slightly better because it is not denatured to make it poisonous the way that rubbing alcohol is, though the amount of rubbing alcohol you can get in your nose with a cue tip is so small that the denaturing chemical won't have any effect on you. That should kill any bacteria in or around your hair folicals. Do the same thing immediately after you are done plucking or waxing. Between your skin, your natural immune system and the pre and post alcohol cleanings the risk of infection should be pretty slim.
The sad part is this sorta happened to me lol. I plucked some nose hairs and like 2 days later I had a pimple in my nostril and it cut off air in my left nostril.
This happen to me I got an infection the worst pain ever. Thank God I went to the doctor bc I couldn’t take it anymore. Even the doctor said thank God you came in bc it’s dangerous you could of died from the infection. I would not recommend getting your nose hairs waxed f that never again.

I plucked my nose hairs a couple weeks ago and a couple of days after I developed this weird irritation in the back of my left nostril. 2 days later it started swelling and it spread down into the area between the bottom of my nose and my upper lip/gum area. At first I thought it was a giant zit/boil on the inside of my nostril, but it never formed a whitehead or anything and it felt so deep that there was just no way I could pop it. I took some antibiotics I had left over from an abscess I got in my arm a while back (I know you are always supposed to finish your cycle of antibiotics even if the infection looks/feels cleared up, but these made my stomach really upset and the infection had, in fact, cleared up 100% about half way through my prescription so I stopped taking them) and my swelling went away and the boil seemed all but gone... But now in the same nostril I have developed this uncomfortable, irritating sore thing towards the front/middle part of my nostril and it seems to produce a lot of crusty boogers or something that hurt like hell when I take them out.. So I looked up nostril infection on RUclips to see what I might be dealing with and this horrific video popped up. 😳

I just want to know if it's significantly worse to pluck the hairs not-on the nostrils than the ones on the (inner) nostrils because it seems more common for nostril hair to be plucked than the other nasal hair thats like on the skin which rests against your face, so it would make sense for people to not be dying because of this because they're plucking safer hair. I feel like that's confusing. I mean the nose hairs you would have if your nostrils were cut off. If I tug at them I'm tugging at my face a little, as opposed to tugging at my nostrils which then tug at my face by connecting them. Not lip hair or the micro hair this vid also describes.
I've probably had about 8-10 staph infections in the past 10 years or so in this area. Always starts at the opening of the nostril and would develop impetigo. Sometimes the impetigo would spread to my upper lip area and would last like 10 days and then go away with topical cream. Sometimes though I would get a cellulitis that would travel up the nose and I would get the "Rudolph Nose" This would take oral antibiotics. The last time I had it I had to switch to an antibiotic that covers MRSA and Thank God is cleared up, Don't mess with these infections and get on an antibiotic that covers MRSA. I'm super cautious these days about anything touching my nose in anyway. I will say though nothing went to my brain Thank God.
Sorry, but if I have to choose between breathing freely, and worrying about the infinitesimally small chance I get an infection, the hairs have gotta go.
I pluck the ones that are visible outside my nostrils. I use a nose hair trimmer for the ones inside. It doesn’t pluck them, it just shortens them. I can’t imagine that is dangerous.

Ryan Morrison I went to hospital after 4 days and receuved antibiotic injections for 5 days. The infection started spreading to the lower part of my left eye. Now i am fine.

I thought I might have a hard pimple under the skin on my nose. it hurts so bad like someone hit me in the face with a bat! but I don't see any bump so I looked in my nostril, I didn't see anything but the pain seems like it could be inside my nostril not outside. it hurts really badly....im praying it doesn't get worse
