    The scene in 3 where they accept their fate together in the fire is easily one of the most moving in cinema history.

    The thought of mark kermode and simon mayo crying in a recording booth over woody from toy story is cracking me up. Howling. The films really are emotional. Jessie scene in 2nd being the one of the most emotional scenes ever

    I watched it again today with my 3 year old who was watching it for the first time. Again I fought back the tears as Andy gives Woody up. What an incredible film that can manages to use toys as a metaphor for loss and I was touched by my daughter's utter concentration to issues that she probably can't really grasp, but made in such a way that the themes are relatable to all ages. A really astounding set of films. 😔 😢

    I never thought of Toy Story 3 in this way before and it makes the film more profound.
    I have three lads, one is 16 and half, one is 13 and the other is 5.
    I have seen how our relationships shift over the years and how one day you kind of realise, they don't want to hold your hand anymore or play with figures with you. I always found it nice in a way that they are becoming their own person and it is glad to know we had those playing moments together.
    I think it summarises most with me most when my neck batters because I still carry my 5 year old on my shoulders, to the dismay of some. Some people say that must hurt your neck and i tell them it does but...
    I won't be able to do it forever, so I'll make the most now.

    I watched Toy Story 3 when I was eight in the cinema with my aunt and as one of the many films my mother cried at, I never understood why she cried until I had access to a RUclips account. And going into Toy Story 4 I was cautiously optimistic because if it was another film like this one, then the audiences would rightfully throw a fit, thank fucking god it wasn't, but what I took away from that film was the same as with Mark and Simon said in this episode, "it's a story about all parents and how they dread that inevitable day when we too are played with no longer.", only that it's one of the many answers to the parents about what to do when that day comes, the popular answer being "Look for the adventures you put on hold when you were 22, and get them started".

  • @Shutter-Writer
    @Shutter-Writer 6 лет назад +4

    It’s not that good of a trilogy. The first two are great but the third film is basically Toy Story 2. The only part that people got connected was at the end of the movie. Which doesn’t follow the formula from the second film.

    Good luck to him, I found Toy Story a complete waste of time although the video game was very good.

    Erm am I missing something? What exactly is so sad about this email that reduces them and apparently the majority of the comment section to absolute break down crying? I'm a little confused tbh

      The emailer was comparing Andy's giving up of the toys to their own daughter, recognising one day she will grow up and she'll be living her own life with new people

      @@bwoahviously yeah I got that but I wouldn't say that would reduce me to tears and the way he was hyping it up before saying he doesn't know if he will get through it was abit much. I was expected it being a film that comforted someone after a horrific accident/moment in their lives. But fair enough
