I’m nervous about retinol since anything that harm your baby logically would harm mommy, right? Since bukachiol is pregnancy safe (I’m not pregnant but still prefer those products) I’m leaning towards trying it. Did you see positive, similar results? Which brand did you use?
I was in the pharmacy showing a friend tinted mineral sunscreen and showing her the difference between the various products displayes. A guy standing nearby came to lean bc he thought I was so knowledgeable (Lol). I told him it's all RUclips- thanks for educating us Dr. V. My friend was actually going to buy a face scrub to deal with her hyperpigmentation (gasps! I know!). She didn't buy it thankfully.
I use Backuchiol along with azelaic acid and this combo is amazing. It gives me exactly retinoid like of results without irritation. Ps: I used retinoid in the past and got my skin sun damaged severely!
Other retinaldehyde options are geek and gorgeous I use their low percentage option around my eyes. Also Avene retrinal which I have also used around my eyes. Another bakuchiol option is Juvias place. Facetheory is a great brand!

Hi Doctor V! I used the Inde Wild Bakcuchiol serum last night and I woke up with swollen eyes (I just used this product after cleansing & put my cerave moisturizer). Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
I never used Bakuchiol as I heard it doesn't have the strong scientific evidence like retinol and retinal, but it seems pretty harmless to add into any routine even for sensitive skin and pregnancy when you can't use vitamin A. But as a doctor as well, I do prefer retinal or retinol and would not consider using bakuchiol alone due to limited studies and very small sample size
keep in mind that studies are skewed when it comes to natural products, researchers wont even study them over chemical ones. then they claim its not as effective but did they give it a real chance?
