That is definitely a better horn. I test rode a Ryker a few days ago and hit the horn to check it out. I almost bust out laughing, had to look and make sure Herby the Love Bug wasn't over taking me! LOL!
Great video! I love the details you put not it! Quick questions...Does the horn ever blow a fuse when you blow it? I know the Ryker has week electrical for the horn. Can you also post the link to your install horn instal video? I can't seem to find it! Thanks so much!
Thx for the feedback! I have this horn connected directly to the OEM wiring, and I haven't had any problems with fuses. It is a typical electro-mechanical horn (not an air horn), so it doesn't draw too much extra power. Here is the link to the first install video... it's a bit long, but it shows the wrangling and bending of the horn bracket to get the necessary clearance under the bonnet: ruclips.net/video/m0qaC5lLRX0/видео.html . Cheers! 👍 --QM
I haven't heard the horns in the SlingMods kit, so I can't compare them. The Denali Mini SoundBomb is definitely louder and has a deeper tone than the original Can-Am horn... my ears say it's about twice as loud, but that's not a very scientific measurement. 🤣 The Denali only costs $30, so it's a cheap mod and MUCH better than the factory horn. 👍 --QM
QuasiMotard I did not in person hear the SlingMods vs the Denali, I just listened on my laptop. Per my computer sound the Denali does sound louder deeper. Plus it is one horn as opposed to two horns with the S/M version. And as you stated a better price.😉
No, it wasn't difficult at all. The factory connectors fit on the Denali horn without any problem. Note that the wire terminals and mounting bracket for the Denali need to be bent to fit under the hood/bonnet of the Ryker properly. The key is to be sure that you aren't interfering with the steering linkage that is directly underneath and slightly behind the horn. You can watch my original installation video here: ruclips.net/video/m0qaC5lLRX0/видео.html That video is a little long because I was figuring out the mounting solution as I was filming... this follow-up video was quick to mount the horn because the bracket and angles were already set properly. --QM
Unfortunately, no... there isn't much room in the front of the Cub for any larger horn. It might be possible to install it under the leg shield, near the motor... not sure about that. I will be taking the covers off of the Cub soon to replace the damaged leg shield and to install a USB charger. I plan to investigate the available space for a different horn at the same time, so I'll keep you posted on that possibility! --QM
Nope, it's almost a plug-and-play fit. The only tweaking was to the new horn bracket... that needed a 30-45 degree bend to allow enough clearance to fit forward and low enough to clear the hood. My first video on the horn showed my tinkering process for fitting it in there. --QM
The space under the bonnet of the Ryker is rather limited, so I was trying to fit something in there without needing to use an alternate mounting location. The SoundBomb Mini's bracket needed to be bent downward to clear the bonnet, so the larger SoundBomb (with the air compressor) certainly won't fit in the factory location. The SoundBomb with the split compressor will fit, but finding space and clearance to mount everything will be tricky. I do have the larger one-piece unit on my CB500X and I really like it... it's very loud. Cheers! 👍 --QM
No, sorry! Unfortunately, I don't have a dB meter in my toybox... yet! Maybe I'll add that to the mix this year. I can tell you that the Denali SoundBomb is much louder and deeper in tone than the dinky OEM horn. Cheers! 👍 --QM
Thanks for the follow up!! Great upgrade!!
Excellent comparison and great setup to show the difference. Will definitely upgrade my horn too 👍
Damn, that sounds like the fog horn on a cruise ship. You have some serious audio equipment. Thanks.

Exactly! My Honda PCX150's have louder OEM horns, so the Ryker's squeaker needed to go ASAP. --QM
I like it - glad I wasn't using headphones lol

@QuasiMotard just checking, this is louder than Slingmods dual horn, right?

Was it hard to install the Denali soundbomb? Did you have to buy different wires or adapters? Thanks in advance

Thank you!
Sound is great! Will it fit the super cub!

Did you have to modify the horn to fit on the Ryker?
Nope, it's almost a plug-and-play fit. The only tweaking was to the new horn bracket... that needed a 30-45 degree bend to allow enough clearance to fit forward and low enough to clear the hood. My first video on the horn showed my tinkering process for fitting it in there. --QM
why would you go mini and not just get the much louder sound bomb?
The space under the bonnet of the Ryker is rather limited, so I was trying to fit something in there without needing to use an alternate mounting location.
