I am 45 yrs old and still get out and shoot a few times a week. Whenever I am on the court I still pretend that I am Chris Mullin. My favorite player of all time. His game was a lot like mine back in the day. Ok, maybe not.
Ryan C ... I won’t say Mully was the “Greatest Shooter of All time “ but he’s up there . Steph Curry Reggie Miller Larry Bird Ray Allen Chris Mullin That’s my Top5 put em in any order ya want
I know! I’m so invested in this man’s story!! Why is it that you only have such little time left? Also why is it that you’ve felt that you’ll die in 2021 for a long time??
I used to love watching much quicker defenders get visibly angry when he beat them one-on-one to the hoop. Sometimes his drives looked like they were happening in slow motion but his footwork was impeccable and he had dozens of subtle little tricks to get defenders a little off balance . . . beat quickness every time.
Every year or so, the algorithm throws me this video. It was amazing to watch Mullin play the game. Did it the right way and made people around him better. Both Bird and Magic say he's the best shooter they've ever seen.
There were rumors of alcohol and drug use. NBA teams didn’t like local players because of mobster, gang and seedy elements that could influence outcomes. Unless they were coach’s sons, legacy players or maybe an athlete or crowd pleaser who can’t play, legitimate players never get drafted by the local teams.
chris mullin and dennis rodman are two of the most underrated and overlooked players to play the game in the NBA. I am damn glad to see that both of them got their dues
Chris Mullin was one of greatest players ever... I remember him playing for St John's and he made St John's a well respected program again. He was also great as a warrior, but found his true home as a pacer. One of best pacers ever. God blessed Chris Mullin
I still remember the day he signed with SJU. I was sky high ! Newsday , mostly a Long Island paper, ran a big article on the signing of a Long Island Lutheran Guy, Bill Wennington and added a small note about Mullin signing. I was always a city guy from HS and my friends were Long Island guys. They were all worked up about Wennington and Mullin was barely spoken about by them, I let them know the big signing was Mullin, all respect due Wennington but Mullin was the guy who was going to put SJU over the top, He was the NYC MVP, a city champ one , of the greatest NYC HS players, no comparison with LI ball. They just didn't know better. Long before his freshman year was over the same guys were going crazy over Chris and stayed crazy until he retired as one of the all time NBA greats to go along with all time HS and college greats. A real thrill to follow his career.
@@fabiocaetanofigueiredo1353 nope they are not. I've been a big Mullin fan since his college days at St. John's. I just love the way he plays the game.
Back when the Johnnies' practices were open to the public, I enjoyed watching them from the stands after classes. And I watched what Mark Jackson said happened. Though Mr Jackson had the skills, too. It was thrilling to see these two young stars before they were stars. But, in truth, they were always stars. Glad for both of them.
The greatest lefty shooter in the NBA. And there's no tinge of haughtiness or guile in the guy, back in the day. Just class, hardwork, and sweet lefty outside shooting! One of my all-time fave NBA player ever.
I go to Xaverian High School in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Same high school Chris Mullin went to. I also know his nephew Terrence who lives in Rockaway like myself
I always laugh when people say "this guy or that guy" should have been on the dream team instead of mullin. (Most forget nique and worthy were hurt). People act like he was some bit player. Some say it was because he was white, and all that dumb shit. Mullin by the end of the 80s had come into his own, and through the mid 90s was one of the most dynamic scorers in the game. The Run TMC warriors were legit as hell, and he was the spearhead. With Bird hurt, Mullin was the perfect next pick to take advantage of the zone defenses in the olympics.

Chris Mullin is so underrated it's insanity. He had 26PPG, 6RPG, 5AST and 2STL averaging 51%FGG and 90%FT in a season and four other nearly identical seasons.
Chris Mullin put the work in by being the first to arrive for practice and the last one to leave. It showed every game. Hard work does pay off. #Legend 🏀🐐
Chris Mullin's game would be made for today. It's awkward to cover a lefty as it is, imagine with one a sweet stroke with no handchecks. He wouldn't be in the LeBron/Durant level, but, would definitely hold his own.
The few shooters that you gasped and hoped they missed when playing against your team...as they were gonna kill it ... Larry bird.. Tom chambers.. Jeff hornacek.. and Chris mullin.
Fortunate to see him play live with the GSW and countless times on TV. He did things with the ball in NBA games you saw the Harlem Globe Trotters do. you can really tell a great shooter by looking at the way he misses shots and by the way he makes his shots. Chris Mullin usually made his shots without the ball touching the rim (Swish) and when he misssed shots it was usually by a hair, no bricks or bad misses.
I could never get enough watching Mullie... If he had any flaws, maybe one on one defense, but he found ways to make up for that,, U had to guard Him!!!
