- Last December I spent my winter break down in the sunshine state of Florida, but this time instead of flying I took the long way. I rode From Chicago all the way to Florida via Washington D.C, this video shows the trip from D.C to Florida.

As a truck driver quite a few years ago, I delivered to one of those warehouses right across the tracks. I think I was delivered some packages materials or something. I thought they put together a nice little station considering it’s on occupied. Try to give it that railroad station feel even though it’s just really a shelter. I was enjoyed by Amtrak trips when I lived in the Northeast.
I will be taking this train from Richmond, Va. to Orlando in late March.
Will be taking this route (round trip) DC to Orlando in June 2022. It is so much more comfortable and less stressful than flying or driving. I always pack enough sandwiches and snacks to share as train food is scarce , expensive, and tasteless.

Did you travel from Washington DC to Tampa?
I’m taking the Silver Star aka the Palmetto route in June 2022, after flying up to DC from Tampa, leaving from Alexandria.
I recognized near Tampa in Dover and Plant City along MLK Blvd. Crossed those tracks 100 times.
Although your graphics are quite helpful, they contain quite a few typos. I am also surprised that they only offered snacks, no meals!
They offered breakfast and lunch throughout the video.

In may I went to Florida on silver meteor and was stuck in Florence sc do to a frail train derailment with chemical waste aboard I did not get to my destination until 12 hours late (Not Amtrak’s fault) over all I enjoyed the ride
