Reasons to play scorch:
+incredible amounts of dps
+*F I R E*
+Super Baller paint jobs
Reasons NOT to play scorch:
-Fire hurts. A ton.
-Does not come with a built-in drink dispenser
-Not exactly graceful when it comes to mobility
it has internal cooling, air conditioning
it's not how scorch is, but how his enemy's are that make him a bit under powered in the current Titan meta. even Ronin,a Titan he can counter fairly well, can trick him into using all his flame sheild and then unload on Him and then hold down Melee to shread him. ( also, Ronin can chace you down, completely negate youre core, and use the mod that phase shifts when doomed with nuke eject to one shot you, with no chance of you escaping, to IMMEDIATELY get a new Titan).

no when i play scorch i play like im play ronin i use his flame shield to bully them into a corner then ,gas, burn and melee them until their dead ,works 110% of the time

This is my favourite titan, but I'm pretty sure that the developers just heard "Thermite" and thought "Sounds cool, is fire stuff, lets make a shield, a shockwave and a grenade out of it.". :P
Ha yeah his kit is pretty basic in the sense that it reminds me a lot of a typical fire mage from MMORPG's.
i use to think that scorch was crap when i first started playing but i gave it some trys and im level 15 in 2 hours so i think my view on the scorch has changed

Two things you forgot to mention.
1) Electric smoke puts out thermite. This includes both Scorch's thermite and firestar, which really puts a damper on things. You can see this in 6:52.
2) Flame shield is an excellent deterrent against pilots who want to rodeo you.

Thermal plating makes scorch wayyy stronger. You can stay charging after the enemy.
I love playing scorch. I'm pretty sure he is the only titan with a 1 burst kill combo, given you have your core ready
You're probably right. When all of his thermite + flame core are cooking at the same time the damage is stupid.
iBluairJgR In a clip of this video there was a scorch (you?) who used flame core 2 times in like 3 seconds. Now that's why i love scorch!

nice review. but you probably shouldn't have skipped the importance of flame shield and the thermal shield kit. I don't want to say "if you don't pick that kit, you're wrong", but... yeah basically. you make short work of any titan that thinks he can push you, like legion. wait for the gunshield, fire a incendiary trap/thermite behind him, and just push him back into it with firesheild until you can use you're core(which is practically instantaneous). he's not the best titan by any means, but chokepoints are his domain and nobody gets past a good scorch without MASSIVE reprecussions
Jeremy Rockwell Most definitely! Thank you someone knows the importance of flame shield. It does massive damage very fast when close and even more when done in front of an enemy titan where the pilot usually sits in
+David Silva I like to use the extra propulsion to surprise close quarters opponents with a dash/flame shield combo, works great.
that's the way I go as well. didn't mention it because I haven't explored other options, but it appears to be almost essential for scorch

you can pop a trap behind the enemy titan shoot the wall out to light it and stand next to the thermite and use your shield. he will have to stay in your shield which results in lots of damage or the trap resulting in lots of damage. or if used right. both, resulting in death

Nice video. Playing Scorch since the beginning and I'm loving it! I'm trying new strats and build at each new gen with him to play new styles but the Shield is so powerful. Even Ronin don,t want to go toes-to-toes in melee haha! Nice video btw!

Just started using Scorch & i gotta say it's a beast. It really dominates in Hard point on certain maps.
Yeah no kidding. I love launching the traps onto the points. Makes me feel. . . evil.
Don't underestimate the thermal shield. When it has increased damage and last longer it will melt enemy titans. When I play scorch I love getting up in enemies faces and just using thermal shield until my core builds. It destroys enemy titans and you usually take minimal damage from it. This works especially well when enemy titans are cornered.

Oh, and is it possible to run around with a suppressed handgun like James Bond or something in Titanfall 2? Perhaps this is too much to ask for, but maybe you could make a video on it?
Scorch is currently my favourite Titan (I mean, when you get a triple titan kill with one flame core then I have a reason, don't I?) and it is GOD LIKE on Drydock. Perfect in the tight environment with the flame core, firewall and the badass fire shield is just immensely satisfying to use against measly Northstar's.
Ugh yeah Scorch is a nightmare to deal with on Dry Dock. The center of the map is basically impossible to the Scorch pilot plans out their traps and walls.

something important to remember is that electric smoke puts out thermite fire! around 6:50 the enemy legion stops the gas can from igniting by popping smoke on it
Pro tip.
I would recommend a boost in stead of core . Because I you have longer shield then use boost to get closer and use the shield to burn then execute

Another good strat if someone can't move or doesn't see you is to stack all your damage at once. Throw both traps, shoot, then flamewall to give them no time to react. The damage caused by this gets a legion from full to doom in about 2.5 seconds, and that single all out attack will get most if not all of your core instantly.
There's another scorch kit. It's great for pinning more them two enemies and it's called "Scorched earth." With this equipped flame core leaves thermite in its awakening, combined with traps can turn you into Phil Swift. "THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!"
scorch is the only titan I trust and can reliably do more than a 1v1 in and be confident enough I'll come out alive to do it again

There are flame resistant oven mits
As a scorch main you take more damage from tones and your own thermite
So you have to wait for the gas to fully spread in order for increased damage? I always shoot the gas together with the thermite grenade.

Very Nice video, but you should go more in depth! You made a huge oversight when you didn't mention that electric smoke can shut down almost all of scorch's thermite abilities (except for flame shield) there even an example of it in this video (6:40-7:10)
legion uses his smoke to stop the thermite trap from spreading as he pushes away. there are other things but that's what struck out the most. I mean no disrespect just wanted to help you give the most to your viewers!
I actually didn't know about the electric smoke trick. You and someone else pointed it out and my mind was blown because that's a pretty useful tactic. As for going more in depth, there's definitely a lot more min-max stuff I could get into but since I'm doing a vid for each of the titans, I've been jumping around a lot. I haven't had to time to figure out all the tricks for each one. I'm gen 2 for all the titans now so I'm basically a jack of all trades master of none. For now, I won't have any super advanced tricks in my titan overviews. BUT I'm definitely going to mention that smoke trick in the legion video!!!!!! Thanks m8

the new update on Scorch is not so good when you have other options that will deal 10% more damage then SCORCH EARTH, and no the ground dose not stay on fire like we thought. Well like I was thinking anyway, heads up, keep those good videos coming later,,

Ronin is the coolest because he's a samurai. Tone is the strongest because she's so simple to pick up and play.
This isn't really a tip but a fire star will ignite the gas trap of whatever it's called
a ronin or really any titan that tries to push a scorch is gonna have a bad time. unless he’s outnumbered and you can get behind him, he will literally melt your face and punish you so hard. so while mobility is a good tactic against him, its definetely better to take him from range and open areas.

The problem with playing as scorch is it can't hit airborne enemies, like a flying Northstar or a double jumping pilot.
Heh it's definitely tricky to land those grenades on airborne enemies.

I'd love the thermite grenate but i did always use the Tone becouse it's powerfull. And my experience with Scorch in the campaign was not good. So i just decided to use Scorch for a bit. Heck it's fun to burn them all! :D xD
Yeah Scorch is horribly under powered in the campaign but in the multiplayer he's hot. One titan to rule them all!

ok, we have to say it...and I KNOW you know this...but at 5:04...you weren't trapped, your back wasn't up against a wall, you were in the perfect spot for Scorch to hold off that Tone and Scorch...that path extends back to the spawn and streamlines titans that try to fight you down it...but to prove your own point, you walked forward into your firewall...but you didn't have to. You could have easily killed both of them and not even been doomed. Literally the BEST spot for Scorch...so actually, you Deployed your Flame core, then rebuilt it back up in seconds...the core, then the incidiary trap to firewall, built back up your core, so you did it again...well hell yeah that will kill a full health Scorch...two Flame cores?
Gotta go big or go home! Didn't want to risk getting killed while being passive so I went out with a bang!

It's dumb to not stay close to enemy titans while using Scorch, the heat shield is the best offensive and can destroy an enemy titan in a matter of seconds, if used properly.

They both work in either situation. The map changes the titans effectiveness a bit more than the mode in my opinion.
Swirly Manager I've found scorch to be really good at game modes with objective areas like amped hardpoint and bounty hunt. If you want to be that guy who puts a flame trap into the bank and shuts down
