*Great product. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I have never used a baitcaster before and did a lot of research before buying this one. I bought it with the Torrent casting rod as well and it works very nice.*
For everybody inquiring about WD-40. It is not a lubricant. WD stands for water displacement. It will prevent ice from building up on your reel and eyelets of your rod but I wouldn't use it to lubricate your reel while cleaning or performing reel maintenance. Also never use cotton swabs on the worm gear. Use foam tipped swaps instead. Fish on!
I'm left handed and use a right handed baitcaster. My first baitcaster I was gonna get left handed but when I tried it out @ the store it didn't feel right. I tried the right handed reel and it felt much better. I still use a left handed spinning rod though for some reason.
When you do break down your reels completely, make a video on it. I do it often with my Abu Garcia Revos once every 6 months or so. It's hard to do it for the first time with no directions but I managed to learn. A video on how to do it with a Lew's reel would be beneficial to those trying to do it for the first time. I would like to know as well as I am going to be purchasing a Lew's reel soon. Thank you love the videos!!

I never had any luck with baitcasters. I just look at them and they will bird nest on me. I have much better luck with spin casters. Maybe you can make a video on properly adjusting the brake for a good cast without birdnesting?
You've probably already got your answer, but the best way to start is tighten your brake all the way and to be extra safe to get no backlash put a piece of tape on your spool after you take out about 100 yards that way it will only backlash to that piece of tape. I got that from a guy on RUclips and it helped a ton. After every few cast loosen the brake just a touch every time.
Hey, Perry! I am 59 years old. Never used a baitcaster reel before this year. Only used spin casters reels. My friend bought me a Quantum Pulse Bait caster reel. It took about 3 casts before I learned how to thumb the reel. It has 14 adjustments on the left side of the reel. Put it on 10 to start. Put your lure on adjust the small knob on the right side push the button and let the lure drop a gravity speed to the ground. Reel lure back up then push the button again. If the lure drops at gravity speed again. Your set. Adjust the star drag. Then throw the lure side arm easy until you get the thumb on the reel down pat. Later you can turn the dial down to 8. Watch throwing into the wind. When windy turn the dial back up. Not to back lash! Keep trying. If you do back lash. Keep thumb on reel an pick at line and pull until the back lash is solved. Good luck. Shawn
