@@CitizenCycle925 Im not sure how Himiway does it but I would be concerned the drop out isnt ruined from the axel spinning in it rounding out the flats unless they use something like a double d flat washer.

hal is for hall effect sensor . there are 3 sensors in your motor if any one of the wires is cut or shorted out then it will not work unless you replace the cable
Man...that sucks. I'm sorry it had to happen to you, but like rubber-neckers at a car accident, I can't stop looking and I'm really eager to see how this turns up. I hope it turns out okay with the least amount of hassle. Also, I will now check my bolts before every ride....=)

Wow, I wasn't that far from home. Kinda makes you think though... There have been times when I've been way far away, thankful that all the times I have broken down have been relatively close to help or home.
'Hall Failure' has to relate to the magnetic motor speed/phase sensor that tells the controller the frequently and phase-angle to apply to the motor. You should have a separate connector from the motor that is different then the three power leads. Those are the sense leads if any one of them is not making proper contact or you have a faulty Hall sensor array in the motor could cause an error code. Also, you could possibly have a controller fault.
On my Rad Rover5, I found my rear axle nut slightly loose. Tightened it before any damage happened. It's something to check pre-ride. That and the spokes. On your part, at least you got the bike for free....
What a bummer, man - I'm so sorry... ☹️ - /me goes and checks the axle nuts on the RadRover right now! (have not checked them since I installed the Tannus Armor Inserts back in November)

i will certainly post updates when i have news to share on this issue :) hope you enjoy the escape, its a lot of fun, hopefully i can get it back up and running soon.
This is what everyone should be aware of these bikes will fail for any number of reasons. We get so used to them and trust. Yes definitely check before any ride. Velo insurance has a tow pick up feature and I will now look into getting it. Wake up call- Thanks man!
They should cover it under warranty, but if they don't, you will need to splice in new wires between the motor and the L10 connector. It's not your fault though, so hopefully Himiway will stand behind their product. This issue had two causes: poor design with no torque arm or plate, and possibly improperly torqued nuts at the factory. I know people say the Himiway is "better" because of the way the power is programmed, but on other bikes they use stronger frame dropouts and a full circle stainless steel torque brace.
Well they sent me this bike for free for the review video so I don't know about warranty. I am going to see if I can fix myself. If I can't I'll probably just order a new motor and see how long it takes to arrive. I don't want them to do any special favors for me. I want to experience there service as regular customer.
Thats my worst fear with a ebike when it goes wrong. so I just built a road bike with flat bars cant be doing with drops at my age . so at least I got back up lol.
Definitely seems like one of the hall sensor cables got pulled and disconnected from inside the hub motor. If the controller isn't getting any inputs from that, it won't let the motor run under power.
So far my Himiway cruiser has both fenders off (hit the back one trying to wheelie so 1/2 is detached), my light came off (cheap attachment), and the push button controller split at the seem and I needed to fill it with silicone. I also only get about 22 miles on battery while peddling but also on full peddle assist setting (the highest). Just under a 1,000 miles on it.
Breaking the fenders while trying to wheelie.. Love it 😂. Only 22 miles on a full battery that doesn't seem right at all.. I got 28 miles on mine with no pedaling at all when I did the range test... Something is definitely wrong there.
Sorry that happen to you bro, but hey I'll start checking my axle nuts periodically now! I got the step through, need to put it on my maintenance list, maybe you can make us your version of maintenance list, thanks brother.....
Wow that sucks! I never check my bike, I will now! And I just changed the rear tube last week, I’ll kept an eye on it! You probably have a severed wire inside? Thanks for the video. From Northern Vermont
I am still loving the content on your Chanel. I am considering adding a torque arm to the rear axle. Do you think that would reduce the chance of this happening? It seems like an inexpensive, easy, preventative solution if it works.
I don't think that on a new bike where a rear wheel fault, which was not part of the purchase assembly, is necessarily the fault of the owner. Maybe two year, five down the road but, it's pretty new isn't it? I hope this is all covered by warranty.
I think it was more then your wheel bolts being a little loose. I think something in your motor casing failed. On my bike there's four different points holding that axl in place. I think it would have taken some major torque to twist your a axl like that. You're bolts would have had to been so lose the wheel was about to fall off. You probably would have felt it first.
Ya, you certainly damaged either a hall effect sensor wire, or a phase wire going to the motor. Soldering required. I actually got my ebike kit for 20 dollars off because it didn't work when it was tested. Just ended up being a sensor wire that came unsoldered, so super easy fix.
I'm going to take the motor apart and do a quick look to see if I see any obvious connection issues but I'll probably just order a new motor if it's not something super easy
I did not install the rear wheel. Anyway shipped me this bike for the review video, and it was quite used when I got it. It was their marketing/ promotions bike.
That sucks, so they dont put any torque arm type things on there, huh. Time to get out the soldering iron! Almost sounded like it was spinning backwards when you put it back together.
