So many people don't realise that baking was/is used by stage performers where hot and bright lights are used. It's not something the average makeup consumer requires!
I'm open to doing something else but honestly, setting my under eye concealer with powder applied with a damp sponge is the only way I've gotten it to look good. I don't leave it to bake but a sponge is the fastest and easiest way I've found to get ready for work without worrying about my makeup looking busted at the end of the day.
Rebekah N I’ve started doing that too right where the creases usually appear. Baking makes my skin look incredibly dry and flaky up close. I used to bake because I thought that’s how you were “supposed” to do it. I’m glad I listened to my skin though
also there are distincts types of makeup: daytime, night out, camera-ready (when these 2 mixed together drag makeup comes out) makeup. all look good when wearing to appropriate occasions. just like you wouldn't wear pijama to a black tie event, some women need to know they don't need night out camera ready makeup for a day. while it can look marvellous with right lights it looks hideous in office or outside. i myself was guilty of it for years
The point of theatrical/drag make up is painting for the back of the room. CIS women dont need to do that... doing all these "ig" make up looks horrid off camera.
I wish more beauty gurus treated makeup like art. As someone who loves to draw and paint and is very new to playing around with makeup, I find there's a lot to be said about having a strong foundation in at least basic art principles: you see and use makeup as the art form it is, rather than just a mass trend to be copied, and it leads to actually well-composed and creative work.
I don’t necessarily care for those “long lasting” setting sprays but I do think setting spray looks good when used to make the skin look more dewy or natural, like the foundation is melted naturally
Mostly I dab my foundation with a beauty sponge after I used a brush. Before dabbing I spray my face with setting spray and it seems to me that my make up lasts longer :)
Also thank you for this. I stepped away from the makeup scene/anything beauty a while back and it's been so overwhelming/intimidating trying to get back into it again over the past year, as well as catch up on trends and gimmicks from the past few years. ❤️

I just love your content so much!!! I do clientele’s makeup and a lot of them ask me “when are you gonna bake this?” I’m NOT!!!! Not EVER EVER EVERRRTRR! Ever! I politely and playfully tell them “I need you to want my services after today, so for that to happen, I’m gonna do you the favor of not making you look crazy” Many of them say “but the RUclips and IG influencers loo...” I IMMEDIATELY CUT THEM OFF... “real life and natural light doesn’t have a softening filter...” Sometimes I get an eye roll or a “but their makeup looks so good...” so I have to do a quick side by side comparison on my own makeup free face, then take pictures and bring them out doors... they’re always so shocked how unwearable and muddy the baked side looks... They also always call for repeat services🤷🏻♀️ Sorry for the extra long comment, I just wish people wouldn’t put so much stock into such UNREALISTIC expectations with the way these influencers do their makeup... there are a FEW exceptions, but most of them need to stop. I feel like a lot of them got into social media makeup for free makeup and not for the art and education of it... so then do everyone a favor and go play with your remaining PR, shut off your fkn camera! And leave the rest of the world out of your clownfoolery 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Makeup ARMY I just wanted to share I totally understand the client struggle! I will often take a photo of the client’s makeup and show them “this is how it’s reading on camera” for lots of things (it’s very common for me to use to convince them to try lashes. I use ardell 110 on my very shy clients)
Yes! I remember when baking became a thing and I was horrified at how it first looked on my skin. Never again! Since my skin is dry, it automatically mattifies most foundations/tinted moisturizers so I just put the smallest amount in my tzone area
I’m 45 and I’m a recovering heroin addict 6 years now I got into makeup after I got clean and it help put my focus on something else but I have a hard time finding a foundation because I also have dry skin. Thank you I love your channel
I feel kind of weird talking about this on a makeup channel, but congrats! I'm seven years clean myself. Maybe you can relate: after spending so many years in the dark, it was an achievement to get clean, only to find that I'd spend the next several years totally lost and struggling to find myself again. Out of all my searching, I found that focusing on my skin and makeup gave me so much to strive for. It gave me a purpose again. It was something only I could do and I wanted to do it well. I had ignored myself for so long that it was strange to care about my appearance again, but in the end, I'm now stronger and much more confident than I've ever been before. And no joke, Robert and his talents play a huge role in that. When I was younger, I always thought makeup was superficial and was all about ego. In some ways it is, but that's not a bad thing. Makeup can give us a new lease on life, and can give us a boosted sense of self. It can remind us of who we once were, and allow us to become who we want to be. Hope you're doing well, a year after your comment. ✌️ I wish I could help with the foundation question, but I have oily/combo skin. I do find that loading up on hydrating skincare keeps the worst of the dryness away, so maybe that's a small place to start?
@@sluttymctits4496 congratulations to you as well and Thank You and I can Totally relate to what you said lol that’s all I do with my extra money is buy makeup or makeup brushes lol now I got boxycharm and it has such nice skin care things in it. I have never found a setting spray to actually set my makeup. I only use it if I use powder to get rid of that powdery finish and make it skin like, like you said.
Omg finally someone that doesn’t swear by “baking” and setting spray. I have tried every setting spray out there it does nothing for me except for make me oily. And baking makes my under eye lines more prominent. 👀 Loved this video!
Living in Australia, setting spray locks in my make up during summer where the humidity makes you sweat like crazy. However, I also use the skindinavia bridal setting spray that are made for your foundation to stay all day and it will stay locked in for 12 hours. But I only use them in the peak off summer and for the work day. The rest of the year little bit of powder will do you right. If you are in a cooler climate then really you don’t need them.
I think someone did a test and they honestly made no diff (half face with vs half without), moreoften the sprayed side was guessed to be no setting spray 😂
Omg you talk all things i learnt from wayne goss. Shows you're a professional not youtube/instagram INFLUENCER. Found you through James channel been watching him for 2 years and never knew you're a makeup artist and his Twin!😱 Glad to find your channel 💟
@@klairematz8560 James Welsh it's his twin brother. He does more skin stuff rather than makeup. I love them both! I have to watch both, and sometimes I'm like crap I'm so doing this wrong lol.
When clients ask why you haven’t baked under the eyes... I ask them if they’ve baked themselves and if the creases were more prominent - of course they would be! So why do they expect us to work miracles 😂🙈
Yeah 😂 good thing I saw James' video popped up and he said he had twin Robert, otherwise i would just be amazed how much this guy knows about skin and makeup 😂
i stil don't use highlighters. i see so many girls using it..but i just don't like al the shine..there are nice blushes with a little twinkle that also work perfect voor the little bit of shine.
Kim Bakker that’s so true! Highlighter can look great when used in small amounts but I totally get what your saying! I think people go crazy with it! I love a blush with a glow! 🖤🖤
Hello Kim, I actually love a crazy highlighter (I got the Jeffree Star 24K palette lol) , I think that this is the part that brings the fun into my make up. though I agree with you we don't NEED highlight in a regular make up routine.
Honestly I don't get the point of them cuz from the videos I've seen of people applying them i can barely see it. Like i can see some sparkling happening but no different than bare faced especially if you have definition and lighting if you know what i mean (i hope you do lol)
Thank you! I thought I was crazy because powder under the eyes is a no for me. It's too dry under there. Also I never found a spray that "set" my makeup. I agree with evsrything!! What an informative video!
I actually never bake-bake,like layer upon layer, but it does help to an extent. Like I do my eyes before my face. So I put concealor, blend, then put once single but heavy layer of powder underneath my eyes. Then when my eye makeup is done,I just dust it away. This usually helps remove that tricky fallout.
My thoughts exactly. Baking is sooooooo overrated and not needed at all. Especially for mature skin. And color correction takes super long. Unless you have something really really bad to hide, you don’t need it. On the other hand I have several different uses for the setting spray. And I definitely need it in my life. Thank you for the nice video.
I've only ever baked my face once and it made me look 500 years old and I was maybe 26 at the time!! gave me wrinkles I didn't have before! 🤣 I feel like actual setting spray is unnecessary too I just spritz my face when I'm done with a facial mist to refresh after powdering and feel just as fine! love your channel so much by tje way so glad I stumbled across it!!!
Yes! Colour correctors!! The number one thing I have purchased and never end up using day to day. Second up would be cream contour and blush. Looks beautiful, but it’s so much faster to use powders on a daily basis.
Jen Okhiria I think I have about 7 colour correctors that I never use! Yessss cream blush! You really have to pat that stuff on! 😂 takes so long to blend in 🖤🖤
Use a small stipple brush with a cream blush. Makes it so much easier to use, and you don’t get your fingers dirty. Elf has a cheap one that works perfectly.
Jen Okhiria Are you supposed to use the cream blush before powdering your face? I know cream comes before powder but then the powder covers it? I live in a hot climate and makeup sweats off my face faster if I don't powder.
LabAccident just seeing this now! Thank you :) I have the Josie Maran cream palette and love it - but barely get any use out of it lol maybe now I will 🤞
Baking is a concept I also don't think it's necessary in a daily make up look, I mean why? I don't want to look like a cakey mess but yes like a fresh face. I can totally live without setting spray unless I need to powder my face... Then I need it unless I want to be like a desert 😅
"Baking" is a technique that was developed decades ago to "set" greasepaint on the stage & in film, as that makeup was oil-based, and would literally melt, particularly under hot lights. This step carried over into "street makeup" in the early days of commercial cosmetics, since those products also tended to be made with mineral oil. Mineral oil, and other petroleum byproducts, are also typically the base ingredient in makeup remover, so it will inherently break down any product on the face. However, over the last decade or so, most brands have moved away from using petrolatum in their products, particularly mid-range and up, so nothing more than the occasional light dusting of powder is necessary. And yes, it is used frequently in "drag" makeup, but drag queens borrowed it from legitimate stage makeup, as many drag queens use thicker, heavier base products, often greasepaint still.
I tried “baking” one time and it made my undereyes look sooo dry and bad. I never baked again lol i just set my face with a little bit of power like before and its good. 👌🏻
Totally get the baking comments and agree! I do like setting spray, MAC Fix+ is very light and easy to apply. I find it help my makeup stay in place a bit longer. Great video!
Raquel Mestre I literally use fix+ every time I do makeup lol! I feel like makeup isn’t finished without it! But just to make it look abit more natural after!
As another professional make up artist listening to everything you’re saying resonates with me so much and I’m so grateful I’m not the only one in the world with these opinions
Amy E Bakewell it was a technique used by drag queens for the highlighted affect/to help their makeup last through their performances! Another reason why there’s no reason for anybody to be baking on a daily basis 😂
It does make it more crazy, do people not know theatre make up looks rough up close? The beauty industry is still pushing something thats cheap at people for everyday/night out make up, "Laura Mercier Ground Talk & Starch" doesn't have quite the same ring to it!
I absolutely HATE color correctors. They're so unnecessary and gimmicky. I agree with everything you said. When I worked for Sephora, people would come in looking for them so they could cover up non existent dark undereyes or surface redness that either could easily be covered up with by using a slightly more yellow foundation or a fuller coverage concealer. Ridiculous how much the social media beauty community has hyped up products that virtually do nothing for most people.
I know nothing about applying makeup. But I really wanna master the no makeup makeup look, and I think this video is going to help me start on the right foot. Heck, I look forward to watching this entire channel for all kinds of tips.
I'm obsessed with Rosehip oil under my eyes. I let it sit for a minute before full coverage concealer. I used to not be able to wear them due to creasing but now my under eyes are flawless. Love all your tips.
Thank you for the tip! I'm 52 and my dark circles are awful but a full cover concealer covers but looks soooo cakey and crepey if that makes sense. Excited to try the rosehip. :)
Finally! I found a make up RUclipsr that is very helpful and informative, wherein you're not obliged to watch tons of ads from the beginning 'til the end. Now I can watch a full video smoothly. 🥰 Thanks for all the fantastic tips!
You are a blessing to the beauty world. I’m an Esthetician, and a MUA, and I have learned so much from your videos, which goes to show, even professionals continue to learn. It’s a shame that the beauty world is all about trendy, hype, new products and techniques, that work for such a small portion of the people who are watching the videos and buying the products. Thank you for all you do. ❤️
I have extremely oily skin and the only and i mean the onnnly thing that saved me is using a very very thin layer of powder under liquid foundation , it makes it look flawless and lasts soo much longer , i don't set and i don't use primers and i don't use setting sprays
I also powder under my foundation and my foundation is a very very thin layer but my oils still come through heavily so I set on top as well. I think it's really dependent on the powder you use because I know for myself, I use a very fine translucent powder and it doesn't make me look cakey at all. With grainy or tinted powder, even with a light layer of foundation, it can still make me look really cakey until my oils come through.
Yea I put a light covering of power in my oily spots to combat my oily skin. I think the type of foundation you use also makes a difference in how much oil comes through for me- I’ve noticed more of a breakdown with certain brands over others
I also powder under my liquid makeups (bb cream and concealer), and it has saved me so much grief. My oily skin still comes through because I’m an oil slick of a person, but it works very well. Wayne Goss is awesome.
Ok this video had me screaming you are hilarious and I’m here for all the shade sis “if you want a long lasting concealer then buy one that’s long lasting” 💀💀💀💀
I do SFX and find translucent powder helps keep things in place. I find setting spray helps cheaper grade makeup stay on because it cracks from lack of moisture. With good pan sticks, I use setting spray because it feels good in the heat of South Texas. It also makes liquid blood really shimmer.
Disagree with the Urban Decay, that setting spray is incredible and does work! You just need to spray a lot. Patting it into the t-zone if you are prone to some oiliness throughout the day definitely helps also!
You are a true treasure! I've literally been binging your videos instead of sleeping because you're one of the first RUclipsrs to actually TEACH me how to use makeup correctly and even explain the reasoning behind it. I went so long basically winging it and doing what I could with my limited skill but it wasn't until recently that I found content that I could actually learn from. I'm so excited to do my makeup again to try out all of your tips and techniques! I'm guilty of doing a lot of the "bad" things but now that I know better, I will be doing better. Anyways, thank you for taking the time share your knowledge and art with others on this platform. I really appreciate it ❤️
I've started hydrating the area under my eyes for the first time ever (hellooo eye cream!) and the improvement has been huge! That, plus Robert's concealer technique, and I'm looking and feeling better than ever! 🤩🧡
I’ve literally formulated the exact same opinions as I’ve learnt to do my makeup, especially with the opinion on powder and setting spray. With dry skin, I always use a tiny bit of powder and always use setting spray as a means to give my skin a dewy look as apposed to making it last longer
Honestly he is the only person I would sit through and listen and watch the whole video because he’s not over dramatic about things and he’s informative.
Omg me too, with this comment! And because also at the beginning of this video I was like, wait, I thought his name was james?!?! 🤔 I just took a minute to see what was the haps! 🤣
I honestly just love your content! I feel so much more confident with my make-up application lately since I never was a powder girl, setting spray only in summer as a means of refreshing/cooling down. Also your skincare tips for dry skin have made my skin so much better in mere days! Dry flaky spots gone! Thank you and know you're very amazing!
Thank you! Thought I was the only person on the planet that thought it ridiculous to add a drying powder under the eyes after concealer. I tell sales people who are 20 something and they look at me like I'm from Mars. It's common sense. It's science. All round great vid 🙏
Omg yessss it’s sooooo good to hear someone, especially a real professional, clarify what’s necessary and what’s not. Makeup companies are making millions upon millions by selling unnecessary products thanks to the misguided information flooding social media nowadays! I’m 46 and only now do I need to contour my nose but never needed it my whole youth! Now you see this crap on 21 year olds who don’t even need foundation! Never wore concealer in my life unless it was to cover a blemish...definitely never to cover half my face with it! This whole “full face routine” especially on a daily basis needs to stop, unless for a special occasion. I am no “natural beauty” guru by any means but social media has turned the purpose of makeup from “enhancing your features” to “masking your features!!” as the norm for every day beauty and it’s preposterous!
If I were a youtuber I swear to God this is literally the kind of stuff I'd be talking about. I love your channel and love what you do. As a professional makeup artist, I genuinely cherish professionals like you!
I feel like you just saved my makeup routine. I’ve always been embarrassed talking to people and making eye contact knowing how much my under eye makeup was creased towards the end of the day. I have to stop adding powder there. Thank you!
I fully agree with you! I love the logic you put behind every single product. This is the first video of yours I’ve happily come across. Appreciate your hard work and thoughtfulness. Definitely subscribed!

I’m lovin your channel! Thanks for bringing honesty to the makeup world b we consumers are being bombarded with sh!t we don’t need and deceptive influencers we’ve learned to trust. Finally you’re here to break it all down and bring the truth!!!
I've learned SO much from binge watching your videos in the last week. I've noticed your subbie count is exploding. I subbed when you were at 146k about a week ago, your already over 158k! That's amazing! I'm so here for you teaching us about makeup application and not shilling products! Keep up the great work Robert!
I think the same way you do about setting spray and color correctors. I've tried pretty much every setting spray and none really helped for longevity, but they DO help take away the powdery look and help "meld" all your makeup together, like you said. I have roscasea so I keep a green corrector on hand, but ONLY for when it's at its worse. Usually I use a more yellow toned concealer and that works great for me. Everything you said is so true. The baking step is a drag technique, they have reasons why they do it, same with color correction also. We don't need these steps in our everyday makeup routines, especially baking when you have dry skin like I do, no ma'am Pam! Lol.
I would love to see you & Wayne Goss do a video together! Because you guys talk about similar things, that I personally find more helpful for real life-I have super dry skin and I'm 38, so many of the popular influencer style tips don't really work out for me irl.
I just found You Robert yesterday and I’m now obsessed with you!!! I’ve been watching your videos ALL DAY. Your so lovely to listen to. I’ve never baked and I’m so glad you’ve validated me!🙋🏼♀️ Thank you👍🏼🙌🏼
I’ve been using a damp sponge and LIGHTLY dipping it in my setting powder and it leaves such a beautiful finish. Before I would “bake” my under eyes in high school and they creased so badly lmao
Robert, thank you for explaining the reasons behind your recommendations. Too often we have people telling us what to/not to use but never the why. You give simple and concise explanations but that make perfect sense once you highlight them to us. I’m a new sub’ but in just the few days I’ve been watching your videos, Ive changed so many things when doing my make up and though I say so myself, it’s clearly working so much better for me. I appreciate you!
I have very oily skin and the only that helps my makeup stay on for longer than 2 hours is urban decay setting spray over my makeup but next time I'll put on makeup I'll use your advice and see if there's a difference
I’m probably not your target audience at 42, but I appreciate your honesty and help. Thanks! I absolutely agree with the baking, it doesn’t look even ok on me and on my 23 and 22 year old daughters don’t even look good in it! As for setting spray I only use a light mist to help the powder look less powdery and I use more as a refreshing mist vs an Urban Decay alcohol spray that dries out skin. I only use a peachy salmon light colored corrected for my melisma a bit under foundation if it’s for an event. At my age the fewer and lighter layers the better🥰 God bless you!
I think there has been so much change in makeup, even since I started doing makeup when I was 18, and I get so many people, 40+ who tell me they’ve been trying all these techniques they see on RUclips and feel that makeup is no longer for them because they don’t work so you are my perfect target audience 🖤 it sounds like you know how to do your makeup perfectly already!
I’m so glad you said setting spray isn’t necessary. I found setting spray to make my skin super oily no matter which spray it is. I just set with powder and all I get is a nice dewy shine at the end of the day. I’m happy I found you! New subscriber!
I love how you explain everything in terms of technic. You don't just say "don't do that because I am a makeup artist and I tell you not to" . You talk about textures and colours and what products actually do,not what they are supposed to do. I feel like people who watch these videos are going to be a lot "smarter" about their makeup. Thank you very much about your honest work.
I used to always use the UD all nighter, I feel like it did control my oil and made my makeup look nicer. Even tho I'm oily/combo I've been more into the MUF Mist + Fix because it really adds moisture (I'm prone to using too much powder and it saves me lol ) and my makeup always looks better, especially in the winter when I'm not as oily! Highly reccomend. Also, been binging your videos....SO informative and enjoyable. I'm so glad I found your channel! You're so kind and classy while still telling the truth. It's easy to tell you're a professional and not just an influencer. 💕
Robert, i know it might not be your style, but for me the L'Oréal Infaillible fixing mist makes me stay so totally matte and I do not need to blot at all through the day, bought 3 of them at Superdrug last time I was in the UK ! I do NOT like the Urban Decay All Nighter at all, even the De-Slick that is supposed to be oil absorbing 🙄 Fix+ matte is OK for me though but the L'Oréal is Cheaper 😊 a good Primer is always key, the wet n wild matte did wonders to me those last months. 😊 Wanted to share this with you 😘
I wish I had found this channel a year or so ago, I could have saved SO much money on buying unnecessary products from expensive brands that the makeup artist told me "you need this and this is amazing too and this and that, ...." James is so REAL and helpful!
OMG YES! I feel the exact same way about baking and setting spray! I thought I was the only one! Haha. I’ve just found your channel and I’m really enjoying your videos! Can’t wait for more! X
OMG the setting spray trick is game changing for me 😍😍 I never saw the results of setting spray and in the end the purpouse of it. Only in cases when I used too much powder and the setting spray helped to melt it down so I didn't look so cakey but that can do any refreshing spray. Now I am using mattifying spray before makeup and it's groungbreakin, thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So many people don't realise that baking was/is used by stage performers where hot and bright lights are used. It's not something the average makeup consumer requires!
Omg I never know that. Thank you for saving my life
Right. You watch a drag artist get ready. They pile on the products and bake. It's beautiful from far away bc that's how it's intended to be viewed.
@Angie Haha I literally put the tiniest bit of powder under my eyes with my fingertips.

Omg is that lumiére in the back?! Cute!
Lol just noticed! Love it!!!!
If I were your parents I would be so proud to have produced you both. One’s an amazing makeup artist and the other is a skincare guru. Such goals 👯♂️
😱 Thank you so so much!! 🖤🖤🖤
I just love your content so much!!! I do clientele’s makeup and a lot of them ask me “when are you gonna bake this?”
I’m NOT!!!! Not EVER EVER EVERRRTRR! Ever!
I politely and playfully tell them “I need you to want my services after today, so for that to happen, I’m gonna do you the favor of not making you look crazy”
Many of them say “but the RUclips and IG influencers loo...” I IMMEDIATELY CUT THEM OFF... “real life and natural light doesn’t have a softening filter...”
Sometimes I get an eye roll or a “but their makeup looks so good...” so I have to do a quick
side by side comparison on my own makeup free face, then take pictures and bring them out doors... they’re always so shocked how unwearable and muddy the baked side looks...
They also always call for repeat services🤷🏻♀️
Sorry for the extra long comment, I just wish people wouldn’t put so much stock into such UNREALISTIC expectations with the way these influencers do their makeup... there are a FEW exceptions, but most of them need to stop.
Are you on Instagram? Would love to see your work! ✨
👏🏻👏🏽🙌🙌🏿
Thank you for not letting people look crazy!
I have dry skin so I can't imagine putting a butt load of powder under my eyes. Less is more on dry or older skin.
Kellye Raiborn 100%! 🖤🖤
I never put powder under my eyes 😨 I did once to try it bc I saw so many doing it, looked awful.
Yes! I remember when baking became a thing and I was horrified at how it first looked on my skin. Never again! Since my skin is dry, it automatically mattifies most foundations/tinted moisturizers so I just put the smallest amount in my tzone area
@@jailene3107 ii became trendy, when Chicks all started to do drag makeup in 2009 or so. They are learning about a lil kinds of makeup now.

Thanks for showing the occasional error bc it makes YT vids more interesting and comical!
I have never found a setting spray to actually set my makeup. I only use it if I use powder to get rid of that powdery finish and make it skin like, like you said.
Spritz your face with cold water instead of setting spray. Thank me later. 😁😇
Omg finally someone that doesn’t swear by “baking” and setting spray. I have tried every setting spray out there it does nothing for me except for make me oily. And baking makes my under eye lines more prominent. 👀 Loved this video!
Shasha_ T 🖤🖤
Exactlyyyyyy
Same for me
Living in Australia, setting spray locks in my make up during summer where the humidity makes you sweat like crazy.
When the fire nation attacked everything changed
🤣🤣🤣 That part got me too!
Fire?!! I'm probably not going to be wearing makeup in those situations.

This man is really SCHOOLING me, let me take notes 📝
i stil don't use highlighters. i see so many girls using it..but i just don't like al the shine..there are nice blushes with a little twinkle that also work perfect voor the little bit of shine.
I don’t want a little twinkle I wanna be able to blind people when I hit the sun
Honestly I don't get the point of them cuz from the videos I've seen of people applying them i can barely see it. Like i can see some sparkling happening but no different than bare faced especially if you have definition and lighting if you know what i mean (i hope you do lol)
I’m with you. I feel like highlighting looks juvenile in the workplace so I never use highlighter most days.
I use setting spray to melt all my products together.
Man I was like why is James talking slightly differently I even checked the date, I only realised when he introduced himself as Robert 😂😂

It’s so dry!! MAC FIX+ matte before foundation will change your life!
How has no one mentioned the lumière candle stick in the background?! Beauty and the beast ❤️

I am still a makeup baby, what else do u use your setting spray for?
I love “water, rain, FIRE 😂😂, wind” dying rn
The comment I was looking for! 🤣
Thank you :) I have the Josie Maran cream palette and love it - but barely get any use out of it lol maybe now I will 🤞
A super easy! Thank you!
Honestly I love using a setting spray! I love how it makes my skin look so dewy and glowy instead of powdery. Sort of melts the makeup together! 💞
Baking is a concept I also don't think it's necessary in a daily make up look, I mean why? I don't want to look like a cakey mess but yes like a fresh face. I can totally live without setting spray unless I need to powder my face... Then I need it unless I want to be like a desert 😅
Li-san that’s exactly why I use setting spray !! I just look powdery and dry without it 😂🖤🖤
Well it looks good on camera and photographs well
I do it and I don't look powdery and dry.
@@RobertWelsh same
I tried “baking” one time and it made my undereyes look sooo dry and bad.
Surely Baking must of been invented by the beauty industry to get through their vast stockpiles of talc & cornstarch! By the way i love your video. 🤗
Amy E Bakewell it was a technique used by drag queens for the highlighted affect/to help their makeup last through their performances! Another reason why there’s no reason for anybody to be baking on a daily basis 😂
😂😂😂
Tai Strong yesss! So many techniques come from drag that people are doing now! So unnecessary!

So you powder under your foundation? Sounds interesting i should try that
I also powder under my foundation and my foundation is a very very thin layer but my oils still come through heavily so I set on top as well.
Ta Bel Same here !!
I also powder under my liquid makeups (bb cream and concealer), and it has saved me so much grief. My oily skin still comes through because I’m an oil slick of a person, but it works very well. Wayne Goss is awesome.
The friggin Bob Ross of makeup ya’ll. Paint our faces with your talent and knowledge, you absolute genie
Ok this video had me screaming you are hilarious and I’m here for all the shade sis “if you want a long lasting concealer then buy one that’s long lasting” 💀💀💀💀
Olaoncé Carey 🖤🖤 thank u!! 😝😝
Autumn A right... everyone seems to really love it! I’m going to take your advice and try it! 🖤🖤

I started watching his videos last night and now I've gone on a binge! I'm obsessed!

That's amazing! I'm so here for you teaching us about makeup application and not shilling products! Keep up the great work Robert!
Omg I wish I had discovered your channel sooner. You’re so knowledgeable.
"I like baking because I like.... powder?" Robert trying to imagine why people would do that to themselves :'D
You are truly amazing! You came up in my Facebook feed, every since then am obsessed watching your videos! You changed my makeup technique for good!
