Stunned we bought Vieira. The guy is utterly hopeless and out of his depth. Should be playing for Getafe. He has no pace or physicality. Weve done so well in transfers the last 4-5 years but he is worse than Pepe. Unfortunately ESR will never stay fit which is a shame because he is much better than Vieira IMO. I would add Partey for the same reason as ESR. Cant stay fit. Tavares, Lokonga, Marquinhos, Nelson can be added to that list.

I liked Vieria but he's too weak. Hes deady on the edge of the box putting crosses on but on the build up he holds on the ball too long or can be overpowered pretty easily by a press

He may be, but whats the point as Arteta does not see him as part of his starting 11 and he doesn't like to use his squad as much as he really should. ESR needs to leave for his career as do a few other players like Ramsdale.

The fact that Saka was obviously knackered at parts of the season and Arteta still chose to play him over Smith Rowe is concerning.
He's popular with the fans and he was brilliant in 22/23 but Arteta sees him in training every day and clearly doesn't trust him.

It'll be sad to sell ESR. He's so talented. He's not been given anywhere near enough chances in the last 2 years. Same with Nelson. Everytime they play, they're good.
Proberly is arteta dont give people chances. He keeps that same squad all way through and that is one of the reasons we dont have good cup runs now.
Smith-Rowe has 2 years left on his contract, a loan move makes sense as his price will rise & could see a pathway back in depending what happens over the next transfer windows. Same goes for Ramsdale, Nketiah & even Nelson.

Loan move for him to come back with one year left on his contract, not the smartest. If he could go for 20 - 30 mil this summer next summer after a possible injury prone loan spell he'd be half of that.

@@michaelboiteau9890 yeah contract extension... its why we extended Nketiah & Nelson.. so we can sell them. A loan move is the logical move as there is no way we would get 30m unless irs Aston Villa & then they make him a 60m player within 18 months.

I don't want to see Smith Rowe go, he's a very good player. But I think for the sake of his own career and development, he should leave. He's only ever going to be a squad player for us... and that's fine for older players like jorginho, but when you're at his age you really need consistent first team football and he's never going to get that here. There was an opportunity for him in midfield this year when Xhaka went and he has not been able to take it unfortunately. When he leaves it'll be with the best wishes from all arsenal fans

Let’s get things straight. The Kroenkes deserve huge credit for how they’re doing things since appointing Mikel Arteta, someone NOBODY in the media trusted or liked. The only thing that has changed is trust Arteta’s proven everyone of these guys wrong.

Esr was never given a chance because he was Injured and not the footballer arteta preferred for the midfield role. You say he over plays saka to get him into form as of saka hasn't been one of the best footballers at the club since arteta arrived.

I think Smith-Rowe could fit nicely at Palace with Glasner's system of using two 10s, but I wonder about price. Clearly the kid is a talent and from South London but the club can't and shouldn't pay a premium given his injuries and lack of minutes. What price would work for Arsenal?

If you want to win trophies, you have to be ruthless in your decision making. No room for sentiments. Arsenal let Auba go( whom I think if was still in the club, they would have won the premier league) due to his bad attitude, so I don't see why we can let ESR go because he's not what the squad needs anymore. Fair play to arteta for giving him the opportunity time and again and still keeping him in the club, but it's time to cut him loose.

The club has not evolved past ESR. When he came in after a long time out he looked sharp, looked like mentally he’d never been away it’s just unfortunate his best position(s) CAM and LW are occupied by players that have done nothing to give the manager a reason to drop them.

You do know Saka gets fouled around 50 times a season & around 50 more aren't given. Vieira needs to bulk up or learn how to take opposition players out of the game without getting fouled or losing the ball.

The fact is that Arteta played the whole of the last two seasons without a specialist left-back-and lost the league title twice-while teams targeted the left side game after game. This season, Arteta doubled down and loaned Arsenal's only left-back to Spain, and then started the season with our best defensive midfielder at right-back. Arteta then further crippled the team by playing Havertz in midfield and center-forward when he is not natural at any of the two positions. So the team was impaired at two or three positions by not having specialists before each game started. Not to mention playing Bayoka Saka even when injured instead of giving Reiss Nelson minutes. We lost the league by a sliver twice. Arteta is a brilliant manager, but he is stubborn and naive. He will not win the league until he learns to use his entire squad, rotate, substitute, buy and sell.
Whe he rotates and tries things at the start of the season you criticise him for it lol (pattey right back).
He signs a defender that starts at lb but then gets injured for the entire season so you criticise h saying he didn't sign a recognised lb. Its irrelevant if the intention was for him to be a lb or not, you think when pep signs gvardiol and plays him left back it was peps intention.
He does something you complain and then he doesn't do something you complain. Yes we lost the league and there will be parts where arteta should have done better but football isn't based around 1 season. We will be back again next season and then the season after that.
