My Father's Day SOTD was PAA Hotel Cecil soap and splash with my Rockwell T2 with a Shark blade and my Sterling synthetic Kong brush. Face lather and the entire family said dad smelled good today. The family gave me a new Craftsman power tool set and I topped it off with a perfectly cooked Ribeye steak and moscow mules for supper. Doesn't get any better, does it? Happy Father's Day Kensurfs I got into wet shaving because of you during the beginning of the pandemic and love it so much!
Happy belated Father’s Day. I hope you had a good day with your family. I’m not a father but a cat dad. I have two. Good to see you as always. See you on the next one. Take care. -Josh
Happy Father’s Day Ken. I have Bixby and it is a really slick soap and it is hard to define the scent. I can only describe it as soothing or comforting. When I ordered it I also got a sample of their amaretto scented soap and my wife and I just absolutely loved it. Nice to support a California-based artisan too!
Hi Ken. Great video. I have the Pearl flexi and actually shaved with it today. But I can’t imagine using setting 6 on it, it’s really aggressive even on 3. That being said, it gave me a good shave with no cuts. Cheers and all the best.
Happy Father's Day! I just finished my 4th shave with this razor and have settled on setting 4. I started on 6 for the first shave because I like an aggressive razor. That quickly changed to a 5 on the second pass. Two passes is all I need on setting 4 and it would be a great 3 pass shave on 3. Great review as always.
Great shave. The Rockwell blade I tried was ok, but it tugged on the first go. It then smoothed on some areas but still tugged on areas where I have the coarsest hair. I was able to finish the shave with it and get a close shave from it, but I’m not completely satisfied with how it performed due to its tugging. Oh well. The next blade to try out is the Asco. Have a good one!
Nice shave Ken. I'll stick to my Rockwell razors. Would love to see your James Bond pinball in action. It would still be great without the sound. Hope your BBQ was great. Have a great week and happy Fathers Day..
Pretty good shave Ken and Happy Father's day bud. It's a shame that you could not enjoy an ice cold beer on Father's Day due to your kidney issues. I'm thinking setting #2 would be perfect for you.
Fun Bond trivia: The big bodyguard who fights Connery around the couch in "You Only Live Twice" is "High Chief" Peter Miavia. He is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's grandfather on his mother's side.
Does anyone, including Ken have any suggestions on which razor to buy as a first timer of this style of shaving? I’m nearly 40 years old but ever since I came across this channel a year ago I have been fascinated by it. I (like most) currently use the typical 4/5 blade razors. Being a fully disabled combat veteran I don’t have a lot of money to spare but I would like to get something good for my first attempt at it so I know whether or not it’s for me. I saw the Van Der Hagen safety razor but I’m thinking that might be a cheap one. Anyone’s thoughts/guidance is GREATLY APPRECIATED (especially from the man himself if he ever even sees this comment). I LOVE these videos and I’m genuinely interested in joining the community!!!
The Edwin Jagger DE89 and the Muhle R89 are good choices. The Merkur 34 that Ken suggested is also an great option; it comes in chrome or a gold colour finish.
Lisa Hope you all have a great day. Nice looking razor👍
Thanks! You too!👍👍💈

More power to you Ken if you can get by on a single pass with any razor.

I found the open comb to be significantly more aggressive than the closed comb version
Me too

Does the flexi click as you turn it ?:oooo
Like the adjustable
I gave it away last year, I don’t recall it clicking
Is it better than the rex ambassador?

Are all moon soaps hard? I’m not a fan of creams or soft soaps
