Hay Walter just a suggestion from a 36 year machinist try cleaning your tumbler and media more often. When it gets where it is that thick on your hands it's time to wash everything. and what are you using in it? just water or coolant or water with a couple drops of dish detergent I use Dawn . when i say just two or three drops thats all you need
For me the "blade making hell" is the introduction of too many new variables. Changing adhesives, materials, processes. With one knife you adapt and fix things with a little more effort, when you make a production run of many knives... that increases exponentially. Cool video Walter, glad you got things sorted
Maybe Sand blast the knives i remember that gives a nice finish. I remember will stelter did this some time ago and it looked really good
"Nobody I know is getting rich making knives"
...main reason I'm happy to remain a hobbyist maker who keeps his knives for himself. lol
I have people asking me to sell, but there's just no way I can justify selling something I put so much time and effort into. When it comes to cash, I make more just doing my regular job.
I enjoy your videos btw!
I do the same and do agree with your comment. Merry Christmas
