    Yes, we need more "off the grid" items. A water pump or working well, generator, solar panels, ability to put a fire out on an off the grid lot, a bucket system: where you can collect water, have that in your inventory then use for whatever you need. So many things are needed to fix that lot trait. Oh and more of the lights that should work need to be added into the list of "works with off the grid." Like the candle chandelier from Jungle Adventure... why doesn't that one work?

    • @deliriouscheeto
      @deliriouscheeto 4 года назад +35

      Wait, you can't put the fire out on the off grid lot? Wtf, Sims use fire extinguishers anyway and you don't need power to have that... :/

      @@deliriouscheeto I don't know about indoor fires, but bonfires that get out of hand, your Sim just freaks out and gives you the wave of "I can't do that" when you tell them to extinguish it. But if you have power, they put it out with an extinguisher. When you normally shut off a Bonfire, you throw a bucket of water on it, but if it is burning and expanding to more items, suddenly you no longer can use that bucket of water. It makes no sense, and is very frustrating.

    A lot of times in the States that second living room is called a family room. Where the fam gathers to watch tv/movies, game, etc, while the living room is more for quieter pursuits-company/conversations, reading, doing work on a laptop. Oh, just remembered something I was trying last year, like in October I think, before an Origin update did my computer in.
    I was creating a cave.
    I lowered the ground elevation and began adding debug rocks around and above. On top of the cave I added trees, and few other plants.
    Inside the cave, before the top rocks of cave get added, I placed those crystal looking items. I then placed and shrunk down lights to be underneath the crystals so they'd glow inside the cave, and omg it looked so amazing at night.
    I was nearly finished with my cave lot when Origin had an update and after that, Origin wouldn't open Sims 4, and it didn't think I even had it. So that sucked.
    But if you ever find yourself with the time to try something like that, go for it.

    You can't eyedrop a debug object but there is an other way to "copy" them. Make a small room in which you place the object you want copy and save the room to your library. You can access your saved rooms in buildmode and once you place the room there is a copy of the debug object inside. This way you don't have to scroll through the long and unorganized debug menu looking for a specific object.
    (This method does require bb.moveobjects cheat if you wish to copy a big object)

    • @SomeoneBeginingWithI
      @SomeoneBeginingWithI 4 года назад +24

      This is so good! So you could kind of make your own folder system by saving different rooms and then place the room that has the item you want. A little impractical and work to set up but maybe easier than scrolling every time.

      They actually talked about this in the live stream where they were showcasing this pack. Their reasoning was that they figured we would get more use/value with murphy beds rather than bunk beds. They were seriously considered before they decided on murphy beds. They wanted to add both, but since this is only a stuff pack, they can't really do that. They can nap on the sofa, use their diaper instead of a potty, and if you get desperate - wash them in the outside bathtub with the dog. Sure, they’ll be angry all the time, but it doesn’t seem to cause any lasting damage once they age up.

    It has a very reclaimed style. Like your Sims refurbished all these pieces to be sustainable and eco friendly.

    Hey James, I'd love to see a (tiny) build, where there's a huuuuge room (which shouldn't be labled as a room in Sims, if you want it to be a tiny build) for like a kid, that has a puppet house which is the size of a normal sim, so the sim look like little puppets :D Kinda like Inception. A game where you play with "puppets", but they're actually puppets xD

    Haha yes the Mandalorian was really good! I love this C train/container build. I’ve seen people actually turn them into homes so this kind of build in the Sims is such a cool idea to me. Thanks and have a great day James!

  • @docette2015

    That looks cool, not gonna lie. :D I like how you used the debug item as a guide, then gave it your own spin by having one container be sideways. And yeah, the little front garden looks adorable! The whole house is adorable, honestly -- you should be quite proud of how you put it all together. :D And yes, small homes must feel HUGE now after all those micro builds. You need to build a mansion to get back in practice. XD

    Really fun build 👍 It'd be cool if you got rid of the wall between the living rooms to make a bigger living room with a fire place, or maybe a sectional sofa.

    Thanks for the great builds James. I was thinking maybe you could build a tiny home some what hidden bunker. It would be a preppier who is minimizing space under ground.

    Sweet, loved it 👍😁
    My laptop was having technical issues while I tried 3 times to record my container build on Friday. It couldn't record my voice. In all that time of trying to figure out why, I should have just shared it to gallery after I tested it.
    It really does work out, a sim can get inside the container if a room is within it but I really love your version.
    I still plan to get mine on gallery. It would make Flubs proud for an area in the back of the lot that I did.
    You did this so soon, and I wish I had another idea off the top of my head but look forward to seeing what your next build will be.
