Every time I watch these events nearly every vehicle is blowing up. Are there extra points applied for the distance the crank flies? Just bring something that runs decent but holds together and you'll place top 3 in every even.
These all look like custom builds in pretty intense conditions... not crate engines in ideal conditions... pretty sure this is in a league of its own, its part of the Motorsport lol...
The rules are made in a way that makes it very stressful for the engine to perform well and in a short time. All of them can easily climb it without any issues, but they wanna break the previous record so they are pushing it really hard.
For years all the comments on these videos have said "those idiots should put filters on the turbos so they don't suck in sand and blow up". Well look! Now they have filters on the turbos, and guess what? They still blow up! Because they are still running 100psi of boost at 20,000rpm!
