They sidestep the clutch from the rev limiter in 4th gear! Depending on gear ratios, you can bet that the wheels are going from 0 to about 100 mph instantaneously. 🏁🏁🏁
Thanks for covering this again for 2020! You are the guy who brings this event to the world! You are also directly responsible for the fact that all the kiddies can get one of these trucks in Grand Theft Auto Online. Love how RUclips brings me so many car cultures from around the world!
Straight six is such a great engine. 90 angles and straight lines, as opposed to v8's with non-90* angles, easier to not be square. And, straight 6 has more main caps than a v8.
R-Dizz Automotive I bet they are losing power as a result... years ago someone did research into how much power grass track cars lost in a season with/without air filters, it was a bit scary. I am sure sand drag cars will be worse.
All the sand that goes through is just extra wear, even when not in desert you get extra wear. But meh race engine are rebuild quit often so it doesn't really matter. In sandy conditions I would like a filter to keep at least the big hands full of sand out off the engine, oh right I'm poor I don't race
absolute stupidity, look what a small amount of sand does in no time to a lawn mower engine. imagine 1000++hp engine speeds and pressures upon this. ruclips.net/video/NwIjLECJmA8/видео.html
Seems like they started further back from the hill this year seeing the way they are hitting the hill. Thank you for sharing awesome video Moreeb hill races are my favorite!
Great Video, and Thanks they don't show enough of these competitions around the place. What i find nuts is lots of these vehicles are built to survive the few days its like drag racing but more fun
Peter, this is what I love about your channel. You cover some very interesting race cars and engine combos. Can’t wait to see the engine video next, keep it coming.
Seems that the best way to do this is to slowly let the clutch out then hammer it to lift the front wheels right before it angles up. Most of them pop the clutch then the front wheels drop and hit right where the incline begins, which seems to slow them down a lot.
I think hes running 4 wastegates. I would think it would be kinda hard to control boost in a situation like that Edit: I have watched this vid and truck in slow motion and if that ain't the waste gates idk what it is, it kinda looks like its coming out of the compressor but I dont kno how that's possible
Got notification button on for you! You like the hill climbs??😂 so happy to see another vlog from you. Maybe next one can be personal, up n close. Your engineering is first class. Let’s see some more of that👊🏻😁🇦🇺 Thanx for posting!!
Thank you for your efforts! This has become my favorite channel. Could there be an opportunity to set up a video showing the remains of the exploded engines?
Really appreciated the voiceover and description of each class, found your old videos YEARRRRSSS ago and I am pleasantly surprised to see some new videos and that the quality has also gone up! looking forward to more my friend.
Peter have you decided if you're going to weld that Lamborghini block? If you do, I'd like to see the procedure. These trucks are awesome which one was yours?
Seems as though some of the six cylinder racers were experiencing some fuel delivery problems. All in all, I enjoy watching motorheads from all over the globe on RUclips. Each individual sport has it’s own nitch in the racing world and it’s own set of challenges to overcome to be competitive.
…….. It's not Nitro / NITROMETHANE.... It's Nitrous NOS . Nitro is a Liquid fuel. Nitrous is in a Oxide/Gas state. Thay are not aloud this year to run Nitromethane, Smile's
Greetings from Alaska USA. I love the videos. But man they need a better start, those trucks nose dive into the sand at the start of the hill and kill there momentum.
Hi ,first I did not know you spoke Arabic!!! I know some. Got friends for Irak and Asiria.Second ,my uncle used to do that back in the 80's with a Jeep I6 Jeep block Chevy head reworked with Ford valves and a 318 Dodge carb and chains attached to each side in case the motor mounts broke. Also he had the same paddle tires with a welded diff. That All happened in Puerto Rico where is a big thing too.Now his son (my cousin) is following after him and that's where I got all my skills at 17 to be a mechanic not just a parts replacer. Now I got a 240 wagon with a 7mgte engine and a whole lotta other adaptations. Those six bangers no turbos look like Nissan Patrols ,right? That's was so much fun to watch and thanks for bringing me back to my humble beginnings.Dz
U see we get the tb48de engine on the nissan patrols which is basically an rb but bigger and less compression+stock forged internals=better motor for heavy tuning
How many engines do these teams go through in a season it seems like many of these teams kill an engine every other launch. Also, how many of the teams have experienced tuners? It seems like too many dead engines? Amazing and unique motorsport that I hope can be shared with the world.
So glad there is a love for horsepower all over the world. There is a wild hill climb here in Ohio called the Devils staircase in Oregonia. Lots of crazy, high horsepower motorcycles try to make it up. These trucks look and sound like they would fit right in at the mud bog races. Thanks for sharing.
Tring to figure out their builds and run strategically. Maybe im just not hearing it right, but are they just running really wide gears and keeping at an optimum speed rather than trying to go through all the gears? Some of the cars sound like they stay at a certain rpm/mph once they get there, therefore, they calculate that as a constant where they then focus and tune grip.
2JZ motors I believe!??.. Super strong and very fast V6 motors!!! I believe you can get like 600+ hp on a stock block with some minor head work done to them! So a 1,000 hp on a 2JZ is most definitely possible with no problem at all!
They are launching in 4th gear. We can speculate they are running 4:10 gears. Another speculation would be 7500 RPM. A roundabout figure would be about 140 mph.
3:10 I don't think the big gulp of sand did it any favors since most of these don't have air filters on the turbo inlets. It was, no pun intended, all down-hill after that.
They should use a freight truck airbox with a paper filter if they are afraid to loose power with normal sized filters,or even cotton mesh filters. It's not like if they had no room or reduced visibility, with all the crap sticking out the hood.
This was the original reason I came to your channel but of course stayed for your builds. Do you tune for a race group or do you do this out of personal interest?
250,000 years from now, someone will find a crank with 3 pistons still attached buried in the sand and will think, WTF is this! Great video, thanks.
I’ll never get sick of seeing that launch of sand 💨

Hi ihàve seen u
Its so good
You have to see it in person, its popular in Oman,UAE,Qatar and Saudia arabia specially in winter time
damn the n/a straight sixes sound so good
Seemed to be the most reliable too.
Straight six is such a great engine. 90 angles and straight lines, as opposed to v8's with non-90* angles, easier to not be square. And, straight 6 has more main caps than a v8.
They must be allowed to be quite a bit lighter than the other classes, those 6 cylinder trucks are flying.....
All i saw were Turbo
Isn’t that a lovely sound from those BIG N/A SIXES!!!
I watch Saudi sand dragging all the time. Glad to see you spreading the sport
Those n/a 6cyl engines are real impressive! And the "street cars" :-D
we take them From Y61 Nissan patrol: TB48
@@x5hpx are you running stock blocks and do you destroke it?
@@DhirC35 most times we just use Stock Block and Crankshaft for 1000hp

The onbord view is awesome, watching the flames shot out looks crazy 🔥🔥
Can’t believe they run without air filters...
That white luxxy would have swallowed a whole heap of sand when the front dug in... crazy guys!

I always look forward to your content, and you haven't dissapointed!!

Now hear me out: we LIFT the Volvoghini, right? Then...
But seriously, great coverage. Very interesting to see the times the straight 6's we're doing.
Faster than the blown LS's! I cant help but think if the V8's were not all pinging off the rev limiter the whole way up they would be faster?
@@m.b.82 yes seemed many of them were not hitting on all cylinders.
I absolutely love it when you post these videos ever year. I always look forward to them. Thanks for doing what you do!
I look forward to seeing video of this event every year! Thank you. Maybe someday I'll make the trip from Pennsylvania.

Would like to know more about Kami. Looking forward to the engine video, too. Thank you for sharing. 🇺🇸👍

You need to check out the quad turbo Nissan patrol
Wait what
Yeah, they're called Funny cars.

Hahahahaha look at those roosts. Sand is flying 40, 50ft easy. Great job filming it my friend. God Bless

Subscribed last year for this. Awesome update in my feed, such a unique type of racing. Thanks!!
This is the most American thing I’ve seen not in America
Exactly!!
This is a true statement. it seems soooo American!
If this was in America they would be racing down hill because that is were country is going with con people running are government.
Try Aussie burnout competitions
Finally a race without a monster or redbull badge/sticker/flags
My favorite part is when the pistons melted into lava and shot out of the exhaust into the desert.
Respect from Germany 👍🏻
On street those epic 4x4 turbos could be just mental, i mean damn that would be epic...
7:45 backfire out the intake, wonder how they run that launch control
Orlando Rodrigues yeah I was wondering that myself lol
I think hes running 4 wastegates. I would think it would be kinda hard to control boost in a situation like that
Edit: I have watched this vid and truck in slow motion and if that ain't the waste gates idk what it is, it kinda looks like its coming out of the compressor but I dont kno how that's possible
It might be methanol injection feeding back through the turbos and lighting off once it's hot enough
Those poor Turbos! Being spun up and having to endure blasts going out the front. That sort of event usually explode wheels or break shafts in half.
we run it hard cut cutoff
Great video so far. Thank you for sharing your experience. Gavin, UK
Much love from Southern California. We love your video’s. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Mostly Nissan TB48
Most common 1/2jz and f1z
@@xwhels taking that 98% of these cars are patrols they'd definitely be tb48's. Only a country with unlimited petrol can afford to run the 4.8 haha
