you're doing the minibase mod! i'm so excited. i love this mod so much. it allowed my to play ONI on my potato. and now that i have a stronger PC, the strategies i learned in minibase are currently helping my survive on the flipped asteroid.
to really minimize wasted/redundant space usage: a colony of 24 dupes can all use one toilet without conflict, if each dupe is on a different schedule with solo potty time.
Learning a ton from your videos. I always died around cycle 100. Since learning from your starts and maneuvering early game, i've been able to sustain to about 500 before my colony dies of lack of resources. I've been needing to learn how to move resources between planets and colonize new planets, but i'm loving your videos. Keep them coming!
I just wanted to thank you for all the help you've given me and many others with your tutorials. At first when I played the game I couldn't even do basic cooling, but now I beat the game! Thank you for making ONI fun again. :)
Wooooo yeah let's go :D Thank you for starting this Minibase playthrough ! I will eagerly await the next episodes, and hope you have fun playing this map, because we do enjoy watching your videos
@@EchoRidgeGaming You are welcome, of course! I believe your content deserves to be shown/suggested to a much bigger audience by the algorithm: 1) Your videos are well edited and thought out, you listen to your community's input and frequently actively ask for feedback, which is then applied to the next episodes. 2) You have several, long lasting and fairly diverse (in terms of mechanics and approaches notably) playthroughs on Oxygen Not Included... 3) ...a technical and challenging game, that has however shown to still be able to generate traction well after launch, and can be made enjoyable (your series as proof) as video content, even for beginners and enjoyers of more casual/laid back games (for the record, those are of course very valid ways of playing/enjoying games, no judgment and no gatekeeping here! ^^). 4) You make jokes and puns, always a bonus :) 5) This even started with a tutorial on how to follow along, which is nice and considerate ! TL;DR: I hope that you will continue to have fun and never burn out, and get to be compensated accordingly to your efforts, because as we all know the YT/content grind is tiresome and unfair, and I have recently seen way too many awesome content creators & series going **poof** because of it. So please take this lengthy essay as deserved encouragement and engagement, hoping it helps gaining you the favors of our machine overlords without having to exert yourself too much 😁 Cheers !
Oh man, only recently got into ONI and found your channel a week ago. Binged the 150 dupes and the colonizing series, and then you gift us with this amazing series. Love the stuff
minibase mod is still vanilla only. currently you just have to do some trickery with reverting to the previous stable version of vanilla to generate the map before returning to the current version of vanilla. the devs are about to release a new update though tomorrow, so that may break even that workaround.
Keep up making awesome videos. Long time since I have seen minibase mod. Remember the meteors will brake the abyssalite tiles (already damaged in the shower you showed) so either reinforce or make bunker tiles before it happens :)
I played MiniBase with 40wide by 50tall and I really enjoyed it. I didn't find 70x40 that challenging and 40 height is too constricting for vanilla rocketry. Looks like this will be a fun series! Also Cuddle Pips will be a great option here since you can fit up to 24 in one ranch. ;)
I honestly don't know the dirt output numbers of pacu vs pip farms on top of my head, but infinite pacu setup definitely requires far less space and can be 100% automated. Which in case of the Minibase wins it over the pip farm. That said, if you do the full cycle of domesticated trees + pips -> dirt + wood -> ethanol + polluted dirt -> power + polluted water, then it will outperform pacu for sure.
@@EchoRidgeGaming Plus, if you can manage a regulated temperature of 3±1 degrees Celsius, you can turn your infinite Pacu ranch into a high through-put Gulp Fish water purifier - you'll want the Gulp Fish tile to have to one side an airflow tile with infinite pH2O storage on the other side (that way it won't mix with the clean water, but the Gulp Fish can still reach it), and have the water overflow into an infinite storage on the other side. I've tested this in creative, but never stuck with a base long enough to get the Gulp Fish going in survival.
Pacu for PD into sage hatches for coal and food seems like the more space-efficient build but there's just something about that arbor tree/pip/EtOH generator setup that seems so rewarding when it finally gets going
Oh interesting. Still big fan of Arbor just because it allows other stuff to happen. Reed just stops at the nessecary production and feeding pips. Room is already tight as it is so might as well fill a ranch with arbor :D
I saw in another video that if you select Priority, click the exclamation point and click the vent/geyser you can see what it is in the upper left notification without any digging, then reduce the priority lvl after you see what it is.
Trapped in there is an available config option IIRC, but that's not enabled here. Like Echo pointed out at 4:40 there's two spots at the top where it's abyssalite instead of neutronium, enabling access to space for telescopes, scanners, and rockets.
It will be very interesting to see you struggle with the space, I think. For your Dirt problem: I would prefer that one that is more space saving. I think that this could be the pacus, but I am not quite sure.
So a pip eats 0.5 unit of reeds, which I’d imagine is no more than 1lb, then plops a MONSTER SIZED 25KG SHIT?! What madness and magic is going on in their digestive system?!
Tbh going paku makes sense givin the situation. Mainly just because of it is so early in the series so no need to worry about critters fps problems. Plus isn't paku stuff bit more compact? Not 100% sure
Am I the only one that knows you can hit the priority tab and hit the red alert over the Geyser and then hover over the alert in the top left and it will tell you what the geyser/volcano/vent is without having to get close to it.
No, most players are aware of this exploit. It is much more fun having the surprise/disappoint after digging your way to it and you dig out a lot of goodies along the way. Happy gaming :)
Wait, the second geyser is an oil reservoir? I thought that one always spawns at the bottom, and the second geyser is supposed to be something other than oil or polluted water?
@@EchoRidgeGaming The one good thing is that usually that reservoir is blocked off by magma biome, but you'll be able to tap into it even before steam turbines.
@@EchoRidgeGaming Early access to that oil reservoir will also give you a bit of natural gas, which can be used in the stove for cooking. Otherwise you won't have access to that until rocket mining :)
Love it!
Aladdin: “You’re a prisoner?”
Genie: “It’s all part and parcel, the whole genie gig. Phenomenal cosmic powers! Itty bitty living space!”
probably an ad-lib line, apparently there were many of them in that movie.

Amazing start to a new series Echo!! I'm gonna have to try this out for myself!!
Thanks @dewsteezyz!

Nice job finiding the Hidden Echo!
8:00 look at you echo watering a nice Grubfruit, i love fruits
Nice catching the Hidden Echo!
Honestly I've never seen a pacu or pip farm, so either would be helpful.
Pacu for PD into sage hatches for coal and food seems like the more space-efficient build but there's just something about that arbor tree/pip/EtOH generator setup that seems so rewarding when it finally gets going
I agree with the space-efficient build.
Oh interesting. Still big fan of Arbor just because it allows other stuff to happen. Reed just stops at the nessecary production and feeding pips. Room is already tight as it is so might as well fill a ranch with arbor :D
For variety go pacu farm for dirt, and use a pip/hatch combo for coal!
I saw in another video that if you select Priority, click the exclamation point and click the vent/geyser you can see what it is in the upper left notification without any digging, then reduce the priority lvl after you see what it is.
I don't know if someone has already mentioned it or not, but I wouldn't worry about going to space. I believe you are trapped in there.
Oh we are going to space.
Trapped in there is an available config option IIRC, but that's not enabled here. Like Echo pointed out at 4:40 there's two spots at the top where it's abyssalite instead of neutronium, enabling access to space for telescopes, scanners, and rockets.

Concur. Space is the key resource here.
No location will ever be too small for the DWU. Don't make us set up picket lines.
lol

Meteoroid is not a "pebble sized object", meteorite is but meteoroid is what it was before it got mostly burned down in the atmosphere so much bigger.
Wild arbor trees are insane source of water and dirt, farmed trees even better source of dirt but little PW and lot of CO2 for slicksters.
My only fear is the space required.
@@EchoRidgeGaming yeah wild trees are nasty space hoggers.
Could do a pacu farm and updated tutorial build as a standalone vid
love the change of pace this is going to be.
I am excited about it too.
i think its meteoroids mc meteors are things that come into the atmosphere and those are pretty small i think
Im a 21 yo dude that doesnt even own a pc, but this was a great video! Keep up the grind dude!
Thank you!
Perfect size map for a One Duplicate game 🙂

will this fix some of the lagging issues of late game?
A lot of it, being there just isn't as much to simulate.
How long till one of them will take metro to the head? 🤔
Do a lot of people play without the DLC? I bought the game bundled with the it and I've never played without the DLC
I don't believe so, but it is a difficult metric to track.
i like pacu, go with pacu! the hot liquid pacu if possible by any means is even cooler!
